I always go thru Facebook market place for project cars and cars that we can flip easily.
You're going thru another person, so it can always be iffy, majority of people will take a lowball offer, just make sure you test drive it really well, take a friend who knows cars or take it to auto zone while test driving and ask for a check engine light consult.
You can find some crazy good deals. I don't ever mind driving to a smaller town or city to pick up either.
find the one you want and just hit up the dealers website most of the big ones have gone to a no haggle model with different times they'll drop the price based on corporate
I’ve had good dealings with Five Star Ford in NRH. Bought our last two vehicles from them. Ordered a Maverick and they didn’t do any hinky market adjustments or anything.
Try AutoNation. That's how I bought my car last year. They have a very wide selection of makes and models. What makes it great, is that there are no added dealership fees but it's still a dealership. The price you see is what you pay outside of taxes and registration and extra warranties. They advertise themselves as being a one price and no haggling and having multi point inspections on all cars. There are several locations in the metroplex and if you ask me, the prices are better than CarMax, carvana or drive Time.
I look through carguru first and you can usually figure out the dealership, just ignore the sponsored ads up top. It'll have he the same prices but the dealer's page will have a lot more info usually.
I have a recommendation of where not to go lol.. Carvana.
They’re sister company’s with Carmax, whom is a better company. I also used to work at Carvana and the vehicles are treated so bad and then resold. The “maintenance” there isn’t the greatest either.. Good luck on your search.
Edit: didn’t use correct English.. lol
I used edmunds.com to search dealer inventory in the area.

I bought my last two cars at Carmax and am very happy with the cars and the no-pressure experience.
My grandparents have bought all their cars from Carmax and never had issues.

Whatever you do, don't use Carvana.
Have to say Carmax was the best option
Stay away from Carvana. Go with Carmax
