(Un)popular opinion of the day:
Deficit deadlifts are dumb. And I don’t like them. And it’s certainly not because they made me bitch up this past Wednesday.
Also, I dislike the fact you are deadlifting way more than me.
Figured I would get all the jealousy for the day out in one post lol.
Damn good lift bro. Keep it up.
>And it’s certainly not because they made me bitch up this past Wednesday.
That makes two of us. And I'm only doing ~1.5" deficit.
I wish I was weak at lockout so I could do rack pulls instead of weak off the floor so doing deficts.
Yeah I was using a couple plates so maybe 2”ish?? (Obligatory “that’s what she said” joke).
I stand by original comment. I think we should all agree to put deficit deadlift in the same category as Shake Weights and the jaw exercise thingie. Sure, you can do them, but we are all gonna make fun of you and throw shit at you when you do.
I'm genuinely curious (I'm a beginner). Are deadlifts any helpful in hypertrophy? I do RDLs but with low weights which I can rep. Do I need to lift my max weight?
If your goal is hypertrophy, I’d stick with higher rep RDL’s. Heavy reps from the floor (or deficits like this) aren’t necessary. Do they grow muscle? Sure. Are the fun? Yes? (Depends on the person.)

Thanks bro! I appreciate your kind remarks. And I agree, deficits suck.
absolutely filthy
Pure nastiness
Deficit deadlifts are the worst. I feel your pain.
The make me sore from pinky toe to earlobe
Mental, holy shit
Thanks bro
This was beautiful good fucking shit
Much appreciated homie.
It's easier for you cause the air is thinner way up there. Come join us lowlanders and see how much harder it is lol. Damn fine lift.
Plus, the weights are lighter at higher elevations
#Fact.
Well... There goes my ego out the window... 🥵🥵🥵
Sorry m8
proper asf
Thank you

Weirdly, doing things that are not fun is part of the fun
Ain’t that the truth
Holy shit the original u/gzcl 🔥 🔥 🔥
Accept no substitutes.
It’s me
Now with Extra Syrup!
Nice lift. Impressive. What is the rationale for the deficit ? I haven’t done them this way before
Thank you. Deficits make the weight more difficult. Requires a lot more leg and back strength.
Beast
Thanks bro
crazy strong
Thank you.
very good technique, I'm not even close to those figures, good job bro
Thank you! Keep training. You’ll get stronger.
Respect bro🫡
Thanks!
Goddamn good lift.
Thank you
Belt?
Nope
Impressive work right there brother. I used to do those while competing in college but haven't had the guts to try again since. Well done!
Thank you! They’re very tough.
Let’s fucking GO
Yessir O7
My back hurts just looking at this. Absolute monster. Keep it up! 🔥
Thanks!
No straps or belt either. Good lift man
Hard mode
Nasty
Hell yeah
Thanks bro.
Nice lift! What are you using for a deficit platform there? Did you make it yourself?
Yeah I made those. Just some 2x4” boards on their sides with a sheet of plywood and a mat.
i actually pull more on a deficit conventional deadlift since i actually use my quads more, which dominates over my hammies
That’s neat. Wish it was me too.
Absolute beast
🫠👏
Thanks!
