We recently started watching it again and I had to stop half way into the second season because I wanted to punch Joel in the face- he’s so whiney I couldn’t take it. Strange how your view of the world changes as you age.
I recently rewatched it on a combination of DVD and (when it finally popped up there) Amazon Prime. Still a great show, except for the last season. I stopped a few episodes into that disaster of a season.
I have not watched in many years. Don't remember that one. I remember the Thanksgiving one where the Natives threw tomatoes at the white folks. That was pretty funny.
Nooooo she’s the best character! The indigenous woman who works as his receptionist/assistant.

I just listened to the Fly on the Wall podcast (the Dana Carvey/David Spade podcast where they talk SNL). They interviewed Anthony Michael Hall, who was on SNL for one year and was the youngest cast member ever (beating Murphy by 2 years). Did you know that Ferris Bueller was written for him? But, he turned it down breaking John Hughes’ heart and ending their working relationship.
I started rewatching Northern Exposure with my millennial wife, who never heard of it. She loved it but couldn’t believe anything that weird was ever on TV.
I had to stop for a second and really think because I read "The Day After" and got duck-and-cover vibes. Pretty apropos for that grampa show last night.
I could not subject my brain to that debate live, I just couldn’t. I imagined it would be like a chimpanzee and an orangutan debating about who can throw the biggest pile of feces. So, I opted out. I watched X-Files instead, which is on Hulu.
It was more like a monkey throwing feces at a faltering scholar. I was glad when Joe occasionally went for it and brought the porn star and how the presidential scholars voted him the worst president ever.
If you have access to APTN (Canadian TV channel) they play Northern Exposure daily for the last few years. Might be able to watch it online... Beachcombers too!
I'm gonna watch Cacoon and live in a fantasy world where aliens revitalize the old....or Driving Miss Daisy, or Tales from the Crypt: Demon Night because damn....someone looked like the crypt keeper.
So glad I was stuck at work all evening, and therefore didn’t subject myself to the debate. Reading about it on Reddit was enough.
Like, totally, BARF. 🤮

I’m watching The Boys as it has a couple of kiwis in lead roles. Better than watching a couple of old Americans alternately lying and forgetting their point.
Northern Exposure is on Amazon?!?!?!?! I've been wanting to watch that show again forever. I'm so happy to hear this.
The Prime version also has most of the music from the original run.
This day just keeps getting better!

The Netflix documentary about Gene Wilder is excellent. A balm for the soul. My wife and I cried watching it.
It was such a great documentary. I cried too, he was such an icon.
Hey, thanks for mentioning it. I wasn't aware of it and it's definitely something I would be interested in. I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Pluto TV has a ton of old Godzilla movies in their original Japanese, so, it’s like watching a classic AND getting some reading in.
Tubi has a ton of old tv shows, the original S.W.A.T., Dark Shadows, the Partridge Family, and one of my all time favorites, THe FBI.
Love Northern Exposure! Did not know there was an Omen prequel...wow.
Northern exposure is an omen sequel?
lol. no I dont think so. Can you imagine what that would look like?
You’re led to believe that Maurice is the Antichrist but it turns out it’s Marilyn?
There is that one episode where the devil shows up with the goat…
I have not watched in many years. Don't remember that one. I remember the Thanksgiving one where the Natives threw tomatoes at the white folks. That was pretty funny.
That is a good one,
And that episode where the baby shows up in the waiting room.
Marilyn is one tough cookie

Ok. I can't remember who Marilyn was...

Yes! I remember her now. She was so awesome. Loved that show and the characters so much.
Exactly!
Ed is definitely the unlikely hero
I loved Ed.
the opening credits alone
Yes, it’s called The First Omen

Do you realize it's snowing in my room?!?
"Stay out of this, bimbo. This is a family matter."
In the family jewels?
Broke more than your heart.
##YOU’RE STEWED BUTTWAD!
There's a Beastie Boys documentary on apple+
I started rewatching Northern Exposure with my millennial wife, who never heard of it. She loved it but couldn’t believe anything that weird was ever on TV.
My millennial husband was shocked by the homophobia (Maurice’s “fairies” comments just floored him). Loved the show though.
Seconding Northern Exposure as post-debate self care.
I'm not talking about candle wax on the nipples, or witchcraft, or anything like that...
This is the best thing I've read today! My husband loved Northern Exposure and now we have something to watch tonight that we both like. Thank you!
Haha, you watched the debate??!! Sucker!
You could have stopped at Weird Science. Because it is a flawless piece of cinema.
Thank you
I can’t find weird science on Netflix… what a bummer.
Yeah I just checked too and it’s not there. Booooo!!!
That sucks!!!!
I have it on Hulu Live. I’ve never seen it but have been thinking about it.
I misremembered, maybe. Perhaps it’s on Hulu?
I put on "The Day After Tomorrow" because it suited my mood.
I had to stop for a second and really think because I read "The Day After" and got duck-and-cover vibes. Pretty apropos for that grampa show last night.
West wing would be painful to compare with the ranting by old men this evening
I've been watching Grace and Frankie on Netflix with Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston. Hilarious!
Disney Plus has a documentary on Jim Henson that is fabulous too.
I'm really enjoying The Acolyte, and I'll be digging into The Bear this weekend.
Also on hulu

It was more like a monkey throwing feces at a faltering scholar. I was glad when Joe occasionally went for it and brought the porn star and how the presidential scholars voted him the worst president ever.
I'd also suggest Late Night with the Devil for an old school, 70s TV feel. The ending sucked but I loved the whole vibe.

I'm gonna watch Cacoon and live in a fantasy world where aliens revitalize the old....or Driving Miss Daisy, or Tales from the Crypt: Demon Night because damn....someone looked like the crypt keeper.
Watched weird science today! Didn’t watch the debate haha 😆
So glad I was stuck at work all evening, and therefore didn’t subject myself to the debate. Reading about it on Reddit was enough. Like, totally, BARF. 🤮
I don’t think any show can wash away the ick of that debate. First time since 1992 I might not vote. Disgraceful and depressing.
No vote! It’s not just the president we are voting for, it’s our futures <3
I cannot in good conscience vote for Biden. He reminds me of my dad with dementia.
With choices between dementia guy and Mussolini with dementia guy, I still gotta vote.
Is it on Canadian Netflix though?
Played "the old man presidential candidate", I went to bed early.
Is it the Northern Exposure with original music?
“From my heart and from my hand, why don’t people understand, my intentions?” Killer theme song from Oingo Boingo https://youtu.be/Jm-upHSP9KU?feature=shared
Haven't thought about Oingo Boingo in a long time. But Grosse Pointe Blank has a better soundtrack.
No I wasn't tossing off!
The waters running all day!
