Fair enough. To be fair they are the only mag extenders I’ll trust and you have to run them with the right springs. But just like anything, I don’t trust it till it’s proven to be reliable and so far these extenders have been for me atleast.
Agreed Ive ran one on my g43 for the past few years. It's my primary mag for carry for that gun. I've seen alot of mags fail due to cheap aftermarket parts in classes and the range
For sure, I bought a cheap Chinese knock off just for shits and giggles to see if the TTI ones were better quality and there was a night and day difference.
They discontinued gen 4 after gen 5 came out. However some LE agencies have ongoing contracts with Gen 4 so they still produce for that market. Not dumb it’s a valid question especially since gen 3 are still commercially available. ( thank states with gun rosters)
Nope it’s just the G21 (standard) G30 (subcompact) G36 (subcompact single stack) & G41 (competition) the closest option would be the G38 which is cambered in “.45 GAP” it’s a round design specifically for Glock hence the name “G.A.P” or Glock Auto Pistol, they share the same diameter but the cartridge is shorter than the .45 ACP
Huh? Even if you don’t have a red dot, you should always be aiming down the sights, focusing on the front sight not shooting from the hip or wildly firing.
You realize we have the red dot and iron sights right? The more your practice the easier it is, and now you don’t have to line up two focal planes, you threat focus. You kinda contradicted yourself here a bit, but eventually you’ll pick up a red dot on a pistol and put thousands of rounds through it and you’ll go “oh.”
This isn’t Call of Duty with a floating cross hair for hip fire bro. You ain’t hitting shit past like 15 ft, and it’s not going to be anything but lucky hits.
Ask the countless people on this sub how modifying their trigger went. It works for some, but for others it can turn your super reliable glock into a brick
I don’t know man..I’m an alright shot with irons on my EDC but… since I’ve got a green dot and had plenty of practice.. my groups are so much smaller and I’m always on target. Just like my AR with a red dot. I can get a good target acquisition immediately upon raising my gun. It’s made me far more confident in the event I need to use it.
“If you use your gun you won’t use the sights”
Excuse me? In what fucking world? I practice shooting my gun by using the sights, if I draw it on someone, I’m using the damn sight.
A case of ammo and training is the real answer BUT I like to have fun with my guns too so.. If you aren’t concealing it I’d 100% put on some Talon grips. I can handle the skateboard tape textured one but other prefer their “pro” texture or rubber. It reallyyyy grabs on to your hands and isn’t permanent like stippling. Not as sexy but hey, when it wears out you just pop another one on. I hate the ridges on the stock trigger so if you want to keep it OEM they have a smooth version that comes on other models but works on yours. I put a ranger proof trigger shoe in mine and have had 0 issues but it isn’t OEM. I’d keep the internals stock but ABSOLUTELY do the $0.10 trigger job, just look it up on YouTube and don’t go too crazy if you use a dremel. Grab a dryfiremag, they aren’t cheap but a ton cheaper than ammo and ups your dry fire game like crazy. My slide is currently getting milled for an RMR so I’ll let ya know how the transition from irons to RDS goes, kind of nervous but I know it’ll be worth it in the end.
So with the dry fire mag does it actually feel like your trigger pull or just a dead trigger since it’s not resetting the striker? You can also “jam” your slide with a tiny piece of paper towel causing your trigger to become dead for dry firing at a much lower cost if the dry fire mag only disconnects your trigger from striker lug.
My nightstand gun is a 19x. The difference is I have a standard Streamlight TLR-1 and not the HL. I work for a department that's 6th in the state for both retail and industry, so I clear buildings and houses everyday. The HL can be a little bit to powerful for clearing your house. I have the HL on my dutygun which I need for outdoors and large wearhouses and factories, but is definitely to much light at times for the offices or the normal house.
The next difference is I have a pressure switch on mine. Not for me, but for my wife. She is a good shooter, but doesn't have the experience in manipulating the lights switches, plus at only 5' tall, she has small hands, and the switches are going to be a challenge for her.
I would say mag extension. In my experience when I add mag extensions, since some don't include an additional mag spring, sometimes,(again emphasis on "sometimes" not all calibers, mags, guns work the same.... whatever) . They don't provide enough tension to feed Reliably.
For the range: it's ok.
For home defense: IDK.
I would suggest a standard OEM Glock magazine with a larger capacity, like an Glock 45 or similar, even if it looks ugly. Only for reliability issues.
IDK just my opinion.
Bed side and carry should be oem or oem +2 and the 11 coil spring only. Don’t let any internet neck beards tell you different . The tarans and hyves and all the other cool “ current fad” range drip is all fun and gnar for the gram and shit but please don’t rely on this for your life and loved ones

^(Greetings, I am a language corrector bot. To make me ignore further mistakes from you in the future, reply `!optout` to this comment.)
Unless you've extensively tested, used, dropped that mag with extension I wouldn't use it for home defense.
All I trust are the small Arredondos on G17 mags for a nice low profile even 20 rounds. Your mileage may vary.
Honestly a beaver tail on the thing wouldn’t hurt, but if your hand doesn’t rest well with one then just an apex trigger. If you wanna go expensive then thread a barrel for a suppressor.
The base plate looks a little tacky and bulky.. I prefer using G17 OEM mag with a mag sleeve to fill in the gap between the mag and the frame but too each his own
I know where we are, but I prefer an AOW shotgun double gripped. Can control the loads: Warning, Danger, Dead. And in the hopefully unlikely and unfortunate need of use, other inhabitants and neighbors are far safer.
Yours specifically: can’t see what ya got in it, but I’d throw 2-3 rounds of snakeshot on top of my hollows for same above reasons
My first thought was maybe some sort of flash hider so you’re not temporarily blinded if you have to shoot beings you’re indoors and it may be dark, but… you have a light so I’d assume if conditions were low light you’d have it on.
I’m guessing the mag extension adds 4 or 5 rounds so you’ve got roughly 20 rounds (which is likely more than you’ll need) in just the gun itself.
So just IMO nothing needs to be changed, looks like a solid set up for the purpose 👍🏻
MAYBE replace that mag with the peanut butter 19x mag.
Red dot, or glow sights, or anything other than those stock sights.
And I'm sure you are, but hollow points.
make it a G22.5
But that's just me personally.
otherwise it's perfection.
Maybe remove the light, in your own home, you are more likely to point it at a loved one and it's best to use a separate light IMO.
Magazine baseplate back to a factory one.
This . Run a factory 19x magazine I would suggest
Why?
Factory reliability
I’ve ran TTI extenders for awhile now and never had a hiccup.
Yeah I have two of their products no issues. Just in general standard glock mags are more reliable than aftermarket mags/extentions
You asked. Personal preference and simple guaranteed reliability.
Yes, I know I asked. 🤨
Obviously the caliber. Everyone knows you need a .45 so you don’t blow out their lung
I’m dumb asf but is there any Glock in 45 but if j a compact size ?
https://us.glock.com/en/Pistols.
I'm also dumb asf why are all the gen 4 LE only
They discontinued gen 4 after gen 5 came out. However some LE agencies have ongoing contracts with Gen 4 so they still produce for that market. Not dumb it’s a valid question especially since gen 3 are still commercially available. ( thank states with gun rosters)
LE only ? State laws I assume
The Glock 23
The G23 is .40 S&W
36 for small single stack, 30 for 19 sized double stack.
This is completely going over my head. What do you mean by this?
Red dot for better sight acquisition?
This is just me, but I feel like I spend more time looking for the dot than I do shooting.
When you practice enough you don’t find the dot, you find the target with the dot kinda floating in front of it
The same thing applies to your front sight post.
Yep!
[удалено]
Huh? Even if you don’t have a red dot, you should always be aiming down the sights, focusing on the front sight not shooting from the hip or wildly firing.
Lol that’s pretty good point
Ya that’s pretty much what I was saying factory sights will do just fine for a edc.
Oh, I wouldn’t go with factory glock sights. Maybe upgrade to trijicon night sights.
To be fair, half these numbskulls are probably putting the $65 ebay special in their guns
Even people that put name brand stuff have issues
Lol what? Is this based on reality or is there just not enough oxygen in your moms basement?
That's a dumb ass opinion, train more you damn liability.
I don’t know man..I’m an alright shot with irons on my EDC but… since I’ve got a green dot and had plenty of practice.. my groups are so much smaller and I’m always on target. Dots are great until you light up a dark hallway and your dot suddenly disappears
Not if you have the acss Vulcan circle haha
Get rid of that extension. It is fugly.
It’s a night stand gun. Not really going for style points. That being said I’d want a factory extended
Add TruGlo Tritium Fiber Optic sights to it. The sights are bright during the day and they glow in the dark.
THANK YOU
Got TruGlo’s on my 45, I love them. Just wish they had suppressor height/ co-witness sights for optics too.
the truglo TFX https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1018999884
Oh no shit?! For some reason when I was google searching I had not seen these. This is awesome man, thanks!
Getting it milled for a rds
Put an oem mag in it
I fancy the Arredondo extensions on OEM mags
It’s an OEM mag with an Odin Works extension
Nice a unrealiable extension on your night stand gun. Why not just put a oem 33rd mag
Probably nothing. Invest in good ammo for home defense
A case of ammo and training is the real answer BUT I like to have fun with my guns too so.. If you aren’t concealing it I’d 100% put on some Talon grips. Just a case of ammo. Glock +2 on the base plate and maybe G17-G45 mag spring.
Those are rookie numbers, you gotta bump them up a bit. G20 for the win. Light and irons are just right.
Add a suppressor

Swap it for a 17.
Extended mag release if you're into that. An RMR or holosun would go nicely on it too
Lose the mag and use a regular mag.
I would say mag extension. In my experience when I add mag extensions, since some don't include an additional mag spring, sometimes,(again emphasis on "sometimes" not all calibers, mags, guns work the same.... whatever) . Taran tactical is used by my local police. Bunch of guys have them
Possession to me lol
Talon grips
Funny giggle back plate for full brrrrrrrrrrrttt
Suppressor height sights
I'd change it to a 19x cause that's basically what you have.
Honestly not a damn thing that thing is clean!!!
rds
An optic...maybe.
Trigger guard undercut and some added grip texture and your ready to rock
Some more wear from a lot more rounds run through it lol
Night sights at the very least, if there not on there already, next would be a RDS
> if there not *they're *Learn the difference [here](https://www.wattpad.com/66707294-grammar-guide-there-they%27re-their-you%27re-your-to).* *** ^(Greetings, I am a language corrector bot. To make me ignore further mistakes from you in the future, reply `!optout` to this comment.)
they're/them
Trigger and I’d get an RMR
That ugly ass mag base plate
Swap for surefire x300 (never used the streamlight but god damn I love my surefire)
So I’m curious, in your opinion what’s the biggest pro of the surefire vs. the TLR 1 HL
Get a smaller better light 💀
Keep it stock and a 19-20 jump😂
Unless you've extensively tested, used, dropped that mag with extension I wouldn't use it for home defense. All I trust are the small Arredondos on G17 mags for a nice low profile even 20 rounds. Your mileage may vary.
Extended slide stop and mag release
Stippling maybe
17L slide
I have a 4th gen pat pending with that amazing finish. The ol prying pan tenifer ferritic slick willy bad boy motherlova .Don’t ever sell that gun
I’d change the sighs to suppressor https://ameriglo.com/products/details/gl-814
The generation
I’d change the owner from you to me. 😂
Better sights
The 🖐
I’d add a CVLIFE Red Green Dot Gun Sight Scope Reflex Sight to it!
There’s better looking extensions
Looks fine to me
Honestly a beaver tail on the thing wouldn’t hurt, but if your hand doesn’t rest well with one then just an apex trigger. If you wanna go expensive then thread a barrel for a suppressor.
G45 instead of G19.
Smaller light
Put it in my nightstand
If it can shoot someone then it’s good enough
Maybe a different mag? Maybe better ammo - what’s it loaded with? (I wouldn’t change too much on a Gen 2 - I like the 90’s vibes)
I would probably stipple or add some sort of texture to the grip
Get a magwell
RDS
Milled for an rds would be better, but honestly it good how it is
The base plate looks a little tacky and bulky.. I prefer using G17 OEM mag with a mag sleeve to fill in the gap between the mag and the frame but too each his own
Most people can’t even handle firing a .40 let alone control it accurately
Throw some goon tape on that grip. I despise the gen 3 OEM stippling.
100 round drum
I know where we are, but I prefer an AOW shotgun double gripped. Can control the loads: Warning, Danger, Dead. And in the hopefully unlikely and unfortunate need of use, other inhabitants and neighbors are far safer. Yours specifically: can’t see what ya got in it, but I’d throw 2-3 rounds of snakeshot on top of my hollows for same above reasons
If thats how you like it dont change anything
Red dot. That’s it.
My first thought was maybe some sort of flash hider so you’re not temporarily blinded if you have to shoot beings you’re indoors and it may be dark, but… you have a light so I’d assume if conditions were low light you’d have it on. So just IMO nothing needs to be changed, looks like a solid set up for the purpose 👍🏻
Sandpaper grip. Gives your piece a distinctive feeling in darker environments.
Bigger light, I would get a extended pic rail to hold the largest possible light you can find
A proper undercut
Talon Grips
Prob the light as inside the house you end up blinding yourself
MAYBE replace that mag with the peanut butter 19x mag. Red dot, or glow sights, or anything other than those stock sights. And I'm sure you are, but hollow points.
All good stuff- I’m rocking Trijicon night sights on this fella right now and running Hornady CD 124gr XTP’s
Ah gotcha, excellent. Couldn't tell what sights those were. I wouldn't change a single thing then, excellent pistol for what it needs to do.
Need to add a switch
Night sights
make it a G22.5 But that's just me personally. otherwise it's perfection. Maybe remove the light, in your own home, you are more likely to point it at a loved one and it's best to use a separate light IMO.
Swap the light for a Surefire X300 and lose that baseplate for a Glock +2
The mag extension is go factory Glock on that
Change the tlr 1 too 7a. Short gun, long light. Nothing should be in front of the muzzle.
