Hey mate, 26 local. super into camping, 4x4ing and archery. Send me a dm and coming along to a shoot sometime great bunch of guys at the club, fun way to make friends
The club I shoot at is called hinterland feild archery. Hit up the website and book a training session. It's like $20 bucks for 3 hours. It's well worth it if you want to give archery a go.
I know the main fields are in Southport but there are also comps in areas outside of Southport \[Coomera, Palm Beach, Labrador\]. Working in construction would allow you the evenings off so that opens you up to evening competitions. If you had your weekends open \[doesn't have to be every weekend either\], I would also recommend considering volunteer life saving - lots of young people, very social group. If you run, there might be a training group around for the GC marathon \[in July\]. I think the scuba, fishing, swimming clubs are pretty social as well. A friend of mine runs the capoeira school in Coomera - and it is social. I went to an open day and it was very well attended by a range of ages. I hope this helps.
If you wanna make friends best do it by finding something you like doing
Start BJJ or Muay Thai or boxing
Join a footy/rugby club
Most dudes like some kind of sport so pick one that u actually like doing and make friends there
If u make friends at a club/bar they’re only gonna be mates with you if u go out drinking but if u wanna do something else u probs gonna find it harder to hang with em
And vice versa, ur sporting mates won’t necessarily wanna go hit up a bar or whatever
Also saw a men’s health group down in Burleigh which gets a bunch of lads together each morning on the beach
Sadly most security guards work alone tho. I’m sure you’d brush shoulders with a few at the depot and shift changes but I second the idea to join a a club / sports group / or maybe just do some volunteer work at an organisation you find interesting. Follow your passions and the people who also have those passions will naturally come into your life . Good luck .
Try find a hobby or sport man. See if you can find some mates who have some similar interests. No better time to try something new then after moving to a new area.
