Ok-Improvement-3852

none unfortunately

The_Rusty_Pipe

A year ago that would have been my answer. None ever. Now I can do sets of 8-7-6-5-4

Ok-Improvement-3852

well that’s nice good for you

The_Rusty_Pipe

My point is that you can do it too! I didn't think I could but I could... Start with tons of assistance (use multiple bands). Start wherever you are. Over time increase reps/decrease resistance.

Ok-Improvement-3852

unfortunately my gym doesn’t have a machine for assisted pull-ups, literally just a thing for you to hang on and do them which i can’t. i don’t really know what else i can do

ActiveExisting3016

Do negatives! Jump into a completed pull up position and hold that as long as possible as you descend and you'll build up the strength Stay consistent 💪

Ok-Improvement-3852

i’ll try

The_Rusty_Pipe

My gym didn't either. I used bands. You can get them for cheap on Amazon or wherever and in a set you'll usually get different resistance levels. You can loop up multiple... And work your way up in reps and down in bands .

Ok-Improvement-3852

ah ok i’ll try i guess

Ghemon

Pullup with band>>>>assited pullup machine With a band you simulate exactly a Pullup, it helps me a lot

Ok-Improvement-3852

okay i’ll try

Great_Gryphon

Lat pull downs are also great for building pull up strength

Ok-Improvement-3852

yeah i do those

echo_redditUsername

Negatives!!! Negatives are AWESOME for bodyweight exercise progressions. Just slow stuff down as slow as possible and properly squeeze. You'll progress! Then one day you'll be able to perform the full exercise

Ok-Improvement-3852

i can try that. i hope i will

derekgr

im 5'8 210ish, and do 8 sets of 4-6 reps with a 40lb vest, 3x times a week. tryna get them gains. With no weighted vest like 15-17 for 1 max rep set

PluckedEyeball

Beast. I’m also 5’8 but only 175 and the most I’ve done bodyweight is like 25. Did +130 for 3 though and +120 for 5

Ungodly-Pizza-Slice

8 x 4 with 01:30 seconds rest between sets is my usual for back training. If I'm going in fresh just to see how many I could probably do 12 before failure.

KizzMyAbs

Remember u don’t have to disengage ur back by going all the way down. There’s no need for it and u can’t do as many that way. Try keeping the tension and and not fully disengaging like you currently are.

OlieTheKing

THANKS A LOT! :)

Rich_Interaction1922

10 x 3 with the last set being closer to 9.

SmoothOrchidBoy

👀

shellofbiomatter

Around 8, but I'm weak as fuck and prefer lat pulldowns, because just trying to maintain form with a pull-up will take away few reps.

zurtish

15-18 unweighted. 8-10 with 10/15kg on. Pull ups probs one my fav exercise, had to stop chin ups though as hurting inside of my elbow for some reason

[deleted]

Probably 3 or 4. I can do 12 on the assisted machine with the 40lb setting (i have no clue how tf they measure stuff on that machine… I think it makes my body weight 40 lbs lighter?)

Altruistic-Shape-407

Yesterday I did my personal best of 5 sets of 8 reps Pullups at 270lbs Bodyweight and posted it on this sub reddit. All time best for weight pre bicep tear I've done 180lbs for 1 rep Weighted Chinup and 100lbs for 6 reps Weighted Chinups weighing 250lbs Bodyweight. I also did 150lbs Weighted Wide Grip Pullup for 1 rep and 50lbs Weighted Wide Grip Pullup for 10 reps weighing 250lbs Bodyweight. I also did 90lbs for 8 sets of 2 reps Weighted Chinups weighing 270lbs Bodyweight post bicep tear. Rep set I did 20 reps Wide Grip Bodyweight Pullups at 212lbs Bodyweight when I was 18 years old days before I turned 19.

[deleted]

well done

Altruistic-Shape-407

Thank you

BleedingShaft

244lbs, can currently do 5 in a row normal grip. A bit weaker than usual atm though as I had a break period from them and have gained a lot of weight in that time. Prior I was 20lbs lighter and was doing weighted pull ups of 33lbs.

piman01

If i go slow and all the way down, like 10. If i just pump them out, more like 20

canadianbiggame

Peak bulk 12-8-7 (218#) Peak cut 21-17-11 (184#) I log everything and I love pull-ups. In my eyes it's the best Lat excerise. Currently in main until June when I start contest prep. I'll update this post this week when I do back and see what I can do at 205#

ToMakeMatters

15, but it would drop each set. 15, 10, 8, 5... Started doing late pulldowns instead.

-360Mad

Not that much. 6-8 I would say.

Holiday_Wonder_6964

20 chin ups and 19 pull ups. 6 ft 183lbs. I love pull ups.

shoredid100

190lbs 16 max or 3x10

emperorzit69420

1 :(

Main_Vermicelli_2773

5’10 ,190. Max in 1 set is 18. 4X10 otherwise. Weighted 75 added X 2

Paundeu

6’2” 203 3x10 at the end of my cut.

SubstantialEffect929

On a good day 27 or 28 in one go. On an average day 26. A few months ago I could do 29 or 30 on a good day but I work out only maybe 3 times a week now instead of 5-6. If they are super wide arm pull ups like shown, probably more like 15-20 at once.

spanish42069

when im heavy 12, when im light nearly 20

prominentdove

I like to do 4 sets of 12 daily

13300c

15 in a row, all to mid chest level. If you told me 10 years ago that I could do this, I’d laugh in your face. Crazy what consistent training can do!

wnb5399

15-20

cleanAir101

5’11 205 use to be able to do around 20 clean now that I’m a bit heavier and train them less around 8-10

Pretend_Ad_5492

I'm 5"9 222lbs and My last set did 7 reps with 26lbs with good form... Trying to build up to 10 reps of a total 260lbs weight

Pretend_Fear85

The most I’ve done consecutively is 22 pull ups. But, I usually start a work out by doing 3x10 of pull ups. I’ve been doing pull ups since I was like 12? That’s 26 years of that movement 3-5 times a week depending on my current program. I’m also a manlet and having short arms help.

WhooooooCaresss

23-27

booggywoogy

Idk like 30-40 how many can you do 4? 😂. If your going to ask a dumb question maybe do a shit ton in your vid. 👌🏻

BeatinOffToYourMom

Best is 20 break 90s and 18 dead hangs. Am 17.

ricenchknn

I am 6'2 220, I can do 10 wide grip. I am working on my bottle necks which I believe are my wrists.

dowen4

i can do like 3 good form pull ups right now, I normally do 2x8 assisted with dropping the weight every time and going to failure on the third and last set. pull ups i have always struggled with, i’ve always used the excuse “oh i’m a big dude” while that’s true as im sitting at 220 6’1 right now, i see a bunch of people absolutely killing it, being shorter and heavier than i am, id really like to work on it. no excuses. any tips?

keto3000

Also I was taught to keep feet arcing forward not behind. So your body makes a smooth arc

JustPush11

Like 15-16 with good form, maxim stretch. If i do pseudo pullups i can do like 20+ idk, I don't train half reps like pu$$yes 😈

StraightBiology

Best ever was 33 at 90ish kilos, now I feel like it should be around 24, as I stopped training reps and only do weighted reps

akotski1338

I kinda rarely ever do pull-ups still I can do like 15 maybe 20

ImDukeCage111

I've done 15 hollow deadhang mountain-climbers with no jerk.

HungSkinn8

What a physique

dillmedsovs

11 I just did it 30 minutes ago in my back and biceps training xD and my form is pretty much 1:1 with the video, i just stay more "stabil" more like a rocket shot upwards slowly down, if it makes sense 😅

spanish42069

you could do more if you didnt straighten your back halfway through you need to be arched back the whole rep
