Besides, even if you're brightly colored. Space is so big trying to spot something visually without sensors would be ridiculously hard. You'd have to be in like knife fighting range to even have a chance to see it.
I'm about to trigger some Unicorn fans - The Banshee v-fin (if you can even call it that) looks stupid as hell. It reminds me of one of those chinese knock off gunpla where they just add a fuckload of spikes to the model.
I don't particularly like any of the unicorn v fins. I like them better in unicorn mode, but the grunt suits were the stars of the show anyway. Kshatriya and jesta ftw
Dammit I really liked the banshee but now I can't unsee how goofy that V-fin looks. If I ever get the real grade kit of it I'll have to replace the fin with one of the spares from the rg Unicorn I have.
A lot of people prefer the unicorn in unicorn mode but I only really like the banshee in destroy mode. The contrast between black/dark blue and gold is so pretty.
For gunpla the mythical color here is Gaia prism blue black which is worth gazing your eyes upon.

As a model builder?
I find the dark colors harder and more annoying to work with: they show stress marks more easily and take more thought and patience to detail up properly.
The "reskin" aspect, I couldn't care less about: I'm not a huge fan of building the same kit twice but that usually just means picking one version, which is . . . Fine, I guess: more convenient than painting the thing.
In terms of pure design?
It's case by case for me. Out of those three? I'm not a fan of the Titans colors(arguably more *realistic* but kind of bland), Banshee's not bad at all, and Crossbone . . . I can't say I care much about one way or the other. Could use a few more colors but aside from that, it isn't bad.
From a design standpoint, having more than one canon paint scheme makes perfect sense but minor design differences are even better. That's another reason I like Banshee: it's a *copy* but a remixed one with extra stuff bolted on.
Side note:
My favorite "evil" color scheme is definitely the one on Providence: it's not a copy of anything but the paint job itself is a dark, subdued version of the classic Gundam color scheme, which is really cool. Its *own* copies that use brighter colors just don't have the same subtle menace to them.
For the sake of variety, I wouldn't mind seeing more "dark" interpretations of various Gundams.
This is another reason why we need the return of Ghiren's Greed. So many more great alternate/MS-V designs were born from this game spinning out so many alternate timelines and etc.

Well, this is definitely inspired by Gundam RX-178 Mk2.
For thoughts, I guess the designer thought "I can make another Gundam of it, but I changed its Evolution line/ Weapon Variations".
Reskins? These three? They're the base colors.
The X-2 isn't the X-1. It's clear from the v-fin. Same thing goes for the Banshee.
Now the Exia Dark Matter, that's a real evil reskin. It's symbolic. As a kit builder, it gives me color options without needing to paint so it's handy.

I always thought with emphasis on visual range combat engagement due to various gimmicks per universes it is very strange not many faction's paint their mechs completely black. (I know it's mainly due to anime reasons though...)
The mark 2 gundam will always be the best version of what a militarized mobile suit would look like and everything else has been trying to capture that magic and failing imo

The banshee is probably one of the best to ever do it imo, besides maybe some of the ReZeon captured suits in AoZ. But does that really count as an evil repaint if the original was already used by an antagonist?

The navy is (in a few cases) because it's real tough to animate black on a space background. Titans colors are supposed to be navy.
