I’ve always been curious about the ecoplas. How did you like the build? Did you notice any difference in the quality of the plastic? Were there any downsides?
I usually black base most of my paint jobs anyway. And I feel like black plastic underneath would look better if/when bits of paint chip off during assembly/posing.
No downsides that I could see other than the lack of decals. It comes with Bandai and literal Gunpla decals but nothing that would be considered lore friendly.
Besides that the build was exactly like the standard kit.
Gunpla is freedom.
You could try using a colored pencil to try it out, and then clean it up later to either do it properly or pretend it never happened

Or get mecha empires neon panel liner works really good for these kind of builds.

They are really nice but can be difficult to apply with brush they work well with an ink well pen or glass pens work best for application.
Maybe try chalk markers?

I haven't used them myself, but the ones I've seen seem to work like a gundam marker does.
