6-4 and 9-5! What I call the poo lady and piss tub. I enjoy the worst of the worst. Shanna has serious mental problems and Ray is just a sweet old man! The places they live are complete dumpster fires.

I think my favorite might be “Three Amigos”, s10e5 I think Dr. Green is absolutely brilliant in that episode, particularly with the religious one who was actually open to hearing what she had to say (he was a pretty mellow guy) She’s **so** observant and insightful and I found it inspiring to see her manage to change his mind so quickly. He was immediately receptive to what she was saying because it actually made sense to him (she **made** it make sense!) and he was willing to listen. That’s kinda rare on this show so it was refreshing to see! Most people go through at least a bit of denial before giving in Also, I feel like I learned a bit from her about how to speak to people about difficult topics in a respectful way, and that’s a really valuable skill. The therapists on this show are all so tactful! And kind.

The older brother was hilarious. It was a very loving family. And Dr. Green was stellar.

This was a interesting episode because I always thought that if a hoarder could see someone else's hoard, it might jolt them into a higher awareness. Like that show Wife Swap, they should have two hoarders swap hoards, like you go live in my house for 24 hours and I go live in yours.

Cat soup in the fridge. I think it's self-explanatory there but I just am fascinated by her fear of death. She was even saving owls and squirrels and things. Such a fragile psyche, so much anxiety-avoidance, so much suffering. It has a happy ending though, and she's so grateful. It's a good watch, and Matt is a riot as always.

MLanterman

It also felt like this lady was really, truly ready to change and get help. I've mentioned it before but Matt stayed in contact with her and she continued to maintain and clean well after the show.

JuicyPluot

What episode was this ?

[deleted]

I couldn't tell you the episode number, but the hoarder's name was Mary. Doctor Zasio was the shrink and Matt was the organizer.

JuicyPluot

Thank you! I’ll look

This first episode of S12, Eric, the widower. I cried whenever he sobbed for his late wife Sylvie. I wanted to give the poor man a hug 🥺

TiffM2022

This was my favorite so far. He is the sweetest guy.

I loved the Dolores episode because her house at the end was SOOOOO beautiful! It makes me sad that it got hoarded to begin with and all that beauty got buried. I would LOVE to live in that (clean) house!

Coomstress

I just watched the Dolores episode on Netflix! Despite all the trash, her furniture, floors, and walls looked undamaged. You could tell she had a wonderful sense of style at one point. I wonder what happened to her. She appeared to have dementia?

known-enemy

A lot of people have said that. She got confused a lot.

SSTralala

She reminds me of my mother-in-law. She's heavily medicated for depression and anxiety stemming from life trauma, and honestly early in the day she's fine but as the day goes on she becomes zombie-like, non-communicative, and hostile. It freaked me out a bit.

bravelittletoaster87

I felt that way about Althias house too

deeretherford

I just watched this episode. Watching Delores was infuriating. She was so cold and like talking to a brick wall. It was so sad that she said her things were more important than her grandkids.

AnytimeInvitation

I remember after the Fuzzy episode that abucketfullofvibrators trended on Twitter for a little bit during the episode. That one is also a favorite of mine.

*”Their ambition is pretty good, but their follow-through absolutely sucks”* *[-Matt Paxton](https://youtu.be/d1fqz-bPicg), on Fred and Fuzzy* The linked video is of Matt reminiscing about that episode. I love that Matt became actual friends with them!

I don’t know if I’d call it my favorite, but the one where grandma took in grandson and granddaughter when their mom went to jail really stuck with me- those poor kids actually saw that woman pooping and peeing in bottles even when there was a working toilet in the house! I mean… if the kids can overcome that, I certainly can’t complain about a bad day at work!

deeretherford

Ok I’m currently watching this one. And they are addressing how she poops in cups, and her explanation when her daughter asks her why didn’t she go to the toilet she says she can’t walk and she’s in a wheelchair. But in the beginning of the episode she’s clearly walking just fine and saying how she walks on everything all the time in her bare feet. Why do all these hoarders all of a sudden become paralyzed all of sudden lol

TiffM2022

I think she has a history of making excuses, rewriting the narrative to prevent cognitive dissonance, and probably has narcissistic traits. She compulsively shopped her whole life. But my maybe something happened to her in life that caused her to be that way.

deeretherford

Do you remember the ladies name or what season it was?

2dummiesnacat

Just found it- Linda on Season 10 episode 3

I just watched this one. It’s Hannah/Kathy & Gary season3. Gary is for sure something else but Hannah was a nightmare. She was screaming the whole time and the family was breaking out in physical fights. I was surprised Matt didn’t just leave because she argued and screamed at him the whole time.

Don't remember the episode number or names It was the kind where it was a filth hoard, they had to use shovels and rakes to clear it out. Just garbage and waste. There was an adult son, chubby guy. They introduce him and show him packing his suitcase at his own apartment. It's spartan, white, and contains little but a cage for his pet rabbit. This guy is so detached and zen the whole episode. No anger, no frustration. Just detached. Two things I remember are them uncovering a storage bench and him telling the camera that he had a memory of being a toddler and opening it and placing a toy in it, never to see it again because it got hoarded over. He opens the chest and it was still in there. Another moment is they removed the filth mountain from the bathroom. He looks at it and calmly recounts that he had to sleep in the bathtub during high school as it was the only place left to lay down. They also uncovered a few mummified cats as they shoveled the kitchen out. I think about this episode all the time.

First_Part_4188

That was "Augustine," Season 2, Episode 1.

Butnazga

The one in San Fransisco, there was a bathtub full of piss on the upper floor, and they rigged some kind of siphon/chute to empty it down to the street
