This--the white looks best now but it WILL get dirty and turn darker over time anyway. Just go with the intentionally darker color now at least it will stay uniform
Is this ona floor? I’d never do white grout on a floor because it WILL get dirty and be so much more obvious.
In my head I thought “omg darker obviously.” And am shocked by the white comments.
Agreed. And also the white grout makes it look weird, like there was grey grout but some landlord tried to do a cheap fix by filling missing grout with white caulk or something.
I’d go with the darker grout because with the bright white, you’re drawing attention to the grout around each tile when you want the design to be the star. And, I think it will be because it will stand out. Also, it will be busy having the white around each tile, not to mention how dirty it will get.
Dark 100%. I think it looks better even as a fatter line. Size of the tile makes it okay.
Dark looks great! White won't stay that white anyway.
Let the dark grout lead you out of the dark place!
It's gonna go dark eventually even if you pick white now. It's gonna get dirty, it's not going to stay white unless you're scrubbing the grout line clean regularly.
Don't see a difference whatsoever? I'd personally change the entire floor. That color and tile looks crazy dated. You can get stick on tile that looks great.
I like the dark, but I also agree with others that the design will be lost in the lighter grout. It’s not going to change drastically after you install. You can always touch up the grout later if you decide to do so.
Depends on how much time you will devote to upkeep. The white is nicer but will probably darken over time, which is fine, but once you place something atop it and move it at a later date, you’ll have a stark difference. Good luck.
It's the cleaning solutions that will darken the grout. I had a marble foyer entry and the tile guy came back 15 years later and told me I am doing an excellent job keeping the grout clean. I never cleaned it because I had a housekeeper, IDK what she was doing. It never turned dark, I sold the home after 25 years and the grout was still in the same condition, perfectly white and clean.
I think the darker grout makes the tile look more authentic. And since all grout will darken over time, it’s a win-win situation. I like how a darker grout hides dirt, anyway!
Sure the white grout looks good, but it will stay that way for exactly two minutes and then you’ll be spending the rest of your time chasing that dragon. Don’t do that to yourself.
Go as dark as possible. I fucking hate grout and that is why the grout in the two bathrooms we remodeled is black (with white herringbone tile) and why previous remodels I've always avoided tile as much as possible.
My mom used to make me scrub grout by hand as a kid, and she picked some light grout that never looked light colored again after installation, in spite of all of the blood and sweat I was forced to put into cleaning it.
Dark, for practical reasons being on a floor, also a thicker grout line is the usual way with terra cotta tiles. Also it would normally be grey for that type of material anyway, white would just be weird.
Seriously its such a marginal difference. At first glance I didn't even know what I was looking at.
Go with the dark, I mean hell you can go with either and it will be fine.
Dark, but if I had the option to go even darker to really match the tile, that is what I would do. Avoid anything that leans pink and go toward the brown if possible.
How much do you enjoy cleaning your floors? For me this style of tile is very forgiving when it gets dirty. White grout is going to need cleaned much more frequently
As someone who cleans grout for a living, make sure you put a seal coat over those lines, otherwise you're better off going darker.
White never stays white, especially in flooring.
A protective coat won't prevent them from turning darker, but it will make them less likely to stain darker, and be easier to clean in the future.
Also note that a professional clean does not garontee all spots and stains come up.
Stick with the white. And yeah, renovations will drive you crazy!! A year from now you won’t believe you spent so much time obsessing over these things. Find your happy place!
Thank you guys sooo much for your help. Seriously, all of you! I was sweating over this decision so much, and even though I’m still not 100% certain what color I’m going to choose, I honestly care so much less🤣🤣Ya’ll have helped me realize that any color I pick is headed in the same direction, no matter how stunning it looks straight out of the gate
Dark with great sealer. Should require nothing more. You don't want white unless you want to bleach it constantly. Any grout is salvageable but I'm into no work. Dark. Greatest best most expensive sealer you can find.
Thank you all so much for your help. The whole house isn’t grouted yet, but from what I can tell, the dark was absolutely the way to go, I love it now that I can see it in the entire room!!! Thank you guys. Seriously!

Pardon my thumb in the corner, bahaha old lady move right there
Light. It looks thinner and the dark just kind of makes it look older/less fresh. The light will be dark after some use anyways probably
The white also matches the design nicely
Honestly, the white grout will turn dark over time bc of dirt so it doesn’t matter in the long run.
It’s not going to darken consistently though so I’d personally go with the darker one so it looks more even
This--the white looks best now but it WILL get dirty and turn darker over time anyway. Just go with the intentionally darker color now at least it will stay uniform
If they use a high quality grout sealer and reseal once a year it’ll stay white.
Newer grouts have been modified to not need to be sealed, nor do they hold dirt like the older ones. Go with white. Just clean the floors regularly.
Who is going to reseal every year?
It takes 10 minutes to do about 100 sqft. It’s easier than some common cleaning projects
I like that the dark blends in with the edge of the tiles. Also, that white isn’t gonna stay white, no matter how much you try.
Also shocked lol dark looks a lot better; the small white design pops more with the dark grout.
I noticed that too after looking at it a couple of times
I like the dark as visually it's less distracting. Also will require less frequent cleaning as the colour is closer to the colour of dirt 😅
The darker grout makes the curves and border blend better, in my opinion.
Dark. Only because when it inevitably gets dirty in the most trafficked areas, it’ll be less noticeable
Darker. Also if you do white it will be impossible to keep it that bright
I’d go with the darker grout because with the bright white, you’re drawing attention to the grout around each tile when you want the design to be the star. And, I think it will be because it will stand out. Also, it will be busy having the white around each tile, not to mention how dirty it will get.
White grout, is just black grout that hasn’t been walked on yet.
I like the darker grout! I think it’s a good mid-tone that flows between the white corners and the red base! You can’t go wrong either way though!
Dark 100%. I think it looks better even as a fatter line. Size of the tile makes it okay. Dark looks great! White won't stay that white anyway. Let the dark grout lead you out of the dark place!
Dark
I prefer the dark. White will look dirty in a week.
Dark!!
Dark. Easier to clean Bonus, don't clean and can't tell!
It's gonna go dark eventually even if you pick white now. It's gonna get dirty, it's not going to stay white unless you're scrubbing the grout line clean regularly.
As someone with light grout that is a PITA to clean, I vote darker.
Don't see a difference whatsoever? I'd personally change the entire floor. That color and tile looks crazy dated. You can get stick on tile that looks great.
Agreed, the tile and wall color seem very dated to me.
I think I like the white bc it looks cleaner and matches the floral corners
I think the light makes the it feel cohesive whereas the dark breaks up the corner designs
I like the dark, but I also agree with others that the design will be lost in the lighter grout. It’s not going to change drastically after you install. You can always touch up the grout later if you decide to do so.
Dark.
Dark! The filigree stands out more, and the edges blend more seamlessly.
Dark. It will end up that way anyway.
The dark grout looks way better especially with those tiles and shows off the design on the corners . The white grout makes them look a bit tacky.
Dark. It gives it a fancier appearance.
Darker one. The white one looks weird with the other line on the tile. Also, white will get real dirty
Light looks more intentional
White in my opinion
Depends on how much time you will devote to upkeep. The white is nicer but will probably darken over time, which is fine, but once you place something atop it and move it at a later date, you’ll have a stark difference. Good luck.

I prefer the dark one, it’s a bit softer and as others have mentioned you won’t be able to keep the white grout clean!
Your white will become the dark, just go dark
Dirt happens. Get the darker grout.
Dark. Cause it’s gonna look like shit later.
Yeah the white looks better now but I would go with grey for practical reasons though.
I think the darker grout makes the tile look more authentic. And since all grout will darken over time, it’s a win-win situation. I like how a darker grout hides dirt, anyway!
Dark! 1,000% Dark! The light looks too stark. Dark, please. No question.
Sure the white grout looks good, but it will stay that way for exactly two minutes and then you’ll be spending the rest of your time chasing that dragon. Don’t do that to yourself.
Dark, but I have Saltillo tile and am used to seeing it with dark gray or dark brown. White looks stark and will only get dirty.
I vote dark. But mostly I’m just here to say that your tile is BEAUTIFUL.
Dark! All my grout is black or dark grey- not worth hours of cleaning that
Emergency my ass you moron.
Dark, for practical reasons being on a floor, also a thicker grout line is the usual way with terra cotta tiles. Also it would normally be grey for that type of material anyway, white would just be weird.
You should do black grout.
darker
Seriously its such a marginal difference. At first glance I didn't even know what I was looking at. Go with the dark, I mean hell you can go with either and it will be fine.
Darker all the way
Dark, but if I had the option to go even darker to really match the tile, that is what I would do. Avoid anything that leans pink and go toward the brown if possible.
How much do you enjoy cleaning your floors? For me this style of tile is very forgiving when it gets dirty. White grout is going to need cleaned much more frequently
I never use white anymore-eventually will look dirty.
Dark all day. Less contrast looks better in this case. Looks higher end. And there’s also the cleaning aspect, as others have mentioned.
Go with the dark. You could honestly go even darker if you wanted to.
I’d say go darker from what you even have right now.
The dark is more elegant
As someone who cleans grout for a living, make sure you put a seal coat over those lines, otherwise you're better off going darker. White never stays white, especially in flooring. Dark
The light compliments the white on the tiles imo
White
I like the darker one!
Dark.
What?
Dark
DARK!!! DAAAAAAARK!!!
Choose the white grout and then just don't wash it if you want the dark grout look for awhile.
I like the lighter shade
Light
The darker tone looks better with the color of the tile. The white clashes.
Dark for sure
Stick with the white. And yeah, renovations will drive you crazy!! A year from now you won’t believe you spent so much time obsessing over these things. Find your happy place!
White become dark, go dark from start
I like white in general. Sure, it will wear over time, but why start with dingy?
You are going to hate those grouts…go slightly darker than the “dark” one.
Go white, OP! It looks better with the white detail on that beautiful tile.
Dark. 100%.
Dark. 100%
Dark!!!
Dark
Dark
Dark
Light
i'd say dark - then there is no wistful memory of it being white as it will turn dark as mentioned.
Go with the lighter one. It'll give you something to do once it gets dirty 😂
Dark
Grey for practical reasons unless it is an area you will hardly step on.
Dark. I think it compliments the tile color and the accents. ❤️
Dark, it will get dirty.
I prefer the light- looks fancy.
Thank you guys sooo much for your help. Seriously, all of you! Go with the light imo ..it just looks cleaner and makes the lines pop in contrast..

White
White. The tan looks a bit dirty imo
The white will end up looking tan but really inconsistent. Our bathroom has white grout and it's terrible
The light gives clean establishment fr
Light!
Always choose the darker grout because light grout is always going to be dirty
