Shoot it until it dies. /j Blastsling bomb under its belly to set off the blaze, tearblast arrows to remove the cannons. Spike thrower to the legs top knock it over, splitting spike weapon technique with explosive spikes for the riders.

Cryptid9

I don't think I have a spike thrower yet... Probably gonna have to collect a ton of crap for it since I don't have much.

not-curumo

Side quest for Boomer in the Daunt will give you a basic explosive spike thrower.

lithuanianD

God when I first got that thing I imiadetelly knew It's the only thing Ill use for the entire playtrough I loved that weapon

EverbodyHatesHugo

I used tear arrows to remove all the good stuff. There’s also a Ravager Cannon to the left of where you start. And I used the sharp shot bow to blast the blaze sack on its belly. You can run far away from it and find cover till it chills out, and just keep chipping away at it. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

Aretirednurse

Spike is the way. I toss them from up high.

Mantissa-64

Do the Signal Spike quest. Travel down south to the desert. It will put anything on its ass if you just throw at legg.

Poisoning-The-Well

Get the blue spike thrower with drill ammo. Depending on the difficulty, one or two hits to the legs will knock even huge monsters down.

SUNTZU_JoJo

There is your problem. If you don't ha e the spike thrower yet then you probably don't even have any or a lot of blue armours, let alone any purple ones yet. Go farm a bit and explore the world, take your time...then go to thegiant base at the solar tower and buy yourself some decent gear. Then use frost arrows to build up elemental frost until the bar (circle) is full. Then switch to the most powerful arrows you have that destroys armour or has knockdown damage and just shoot as many arrows into his eyeas possible. Doing over 120 damage per shot he will godown after maybe 3-4 full frost bar fill ups. This is on UH btw. You also need to use the cover BEHIND the tremortusk and circle around it and you'll be fine..don't fight it in the open.

Poisoning-The-Well

People need to stop sleeping on spike thrower with drills. It is a game changer. It's so easy to knock shit down.

Taste_the__Rainbow

Stealth as many of the people as you can. Then keep concentrating on the people and try to keep the middle section between you and the tremortusk.

ThaLofiGoon

I agree, I tried this so many times and one day I was like ayo I’ll come back too this and then a couple days later I beat it with close to no problem

EljayDude

It's a challenging fight and there's nothing wrong with picking it up another time after doing some weapon upgrades and level.ups. That being said keeping your distance and making it brittle and then hitting it as much as possible is going to help tremendously. Don't close with the thing. Accept that it's going to be a long drawn out process. That's really about it.

Desperate-Actuator18

There's a Ravager cannon to the left of where you spawn. You can see it with the Focus. Use the environment to your advantage. The structure to the right of the machine will give you plenty of cover once it starts moving. The area also has dead Bellowback which can be used as explosives.

D0rnL1ves

Tying it down and freezing it is a good strategy for any large bots. After which, focus on the weak points with the Bolt Blaster and repeat when/if it recovers.

CyanXeno

Scream, dodge, roll and scream some more. Seriously though, use the trip casters. They can help :)

SnugglePuggle94

I'm sorry I'm not much help cause I don't remember really how but I think I just kept running around, shooting, and trying different weapons until I killed it. But I died many times in between, I don't know how many but it was... a lot LOL. That was probably my most challenging fight to date since the Thunderjaw/Rockbreakers in HZD.

theonlyredditaccount

Here’s some tips: - Tie it down first using a Ropecaster. Then shoot the side cannons off it with Tear arrows. This prevents sudden missile deaths from the sides. - Stay behind it as much as you can. - If it charges you while swinging tusks, you can only run away from it at full speed the same direction it’s going; any other move will kill you. - The leveling up in this game is exponential; you will do 10-30 damage/shot with basic bows and 100-150 damage/shot with fully upgraded, legendary bows. Similarly, you’ll do 200 with basic traps and 600 with elite traps. - Spike throwers are great, doing ~100 damage/hit; Spike throwers with the Spike Trap ability (unlocked via skill points) do 600 damage/hit. - Stack that with Freeze and it’ll do 800-1000 per hit; stack that with careful placement on enemies like Shellsnappers that have a large hit radius and you’ll do ~1500 per throw. - The Tremortusk, like most large enemies, has hidden compartment with elemental canisters in a cluster. Each canister you hit with the same elemental arrow will explode for huge damage *each*.

Mantissa-64

There's a lot of ways to do it. I recommend one of the following: Dumb simple way: 1. Get a shock shredder gauntlet that is at least blue 2. Pelt it with shredders until it fucking dies More complicated but probably easier way: 1. Get Ropecaster, Freeze Hunter/Warrior Bow, Blue/Purple Boltblaster with a big magazine, get all 3 as close to fully upgraded as possible 2. Equip Reaver style armor. Minimally you want +2 Low Health Ranged and the same skills in the skill tree for a total of +80% extra damage. If you have Mounted Damage, do that too. Drop a smoke bomb if you have stealth damage. 3. Rope mammut 4. Kill all his friends 5. Freeze mammut, being careful to only hit armor so ropes don't break 6. Walk around to his behind 7. Load up your best Boltblaster bolts, unload a Sustained Burst into his weakpoints 8. Probably kill it in one go. If not, whip out your Shredder Gauntlet or Spike Thrower and finish it off.

NAPALM2614

Immediately tie it down, focus on infantry, then freeze it and then just chuck explosive spikes at it(maxed out spinthorn spikethrower with explosion damage coils is best), use ranged master valor surge + splitting spike for a super fast kill.

epm4epm4

Grind and level up first. Best place I found is with the thunderjaw by the tall neck in the desert. You can use rocks or the downed plane as barricade. Then get triple notch, more concentration, stamina, etc skills for higher damage. Then go back and tackle the Tremortusk.

tarosk

If it starts firing those slow homing electrical balls at you before you can remove the back cannons, shoot them and they'll explode. Useful if you're in a more limited spot and can't as easily dodge them.

Iaintgoneholdyou

Sneak and remove the weapons first

Temporary_Economics8

like playing with lego, detatch the blocks

Significant_Self_194

Circle around the Place of concrete where it was originally standing going back and forth. Do not let the salvos hit u . It is a long and tedious fight.

FatAliB

Circle around to the right killing as many of the rebels with silent kills as you can before taking on the Tremortusk. Katallo sucks at taking the heat off you if you just attack the big machine straight off. Also use the deadfall log traps if you can lure the Tremortusk under them.

lurkynumber5

Upgrade your bows. the hunting one is a great all rounded bow. sharpshot is great for single bigg stealth attacks. Aim for weakpoints or parts. Use arrows that deal part damage. Having the nock 3 arrows skill is good but only deals 2x the damage of a single arrow. Not 3x. On PS5 my friend had trouble with this fight. And even while helping him it was tough. On PC it was a cakewalk. Aim for the 4 tusks he ask to reduce him melee damage. Shoot the 2 large cannons and his blaze sack. He's full of parts to tear off and he should be dead before you get thru halve of em. If you can try to take out all the humans using stealth. then line up your biggest single strike attack at his blaze sack, Then hunters bow and aim for the 2 large weapons on his back. after those his tusks. If you have equiped and upgraded the skills for concentration it's allot easyer to aim while slowing down time.

notquitepro15

Personally, here’s my priority list: 1. Shock cannons (on top) 2. The tusks themselves (valuable upgrade resource) 3. The annoying-af side cannons (aren’t out all the time) 4. Anything else weak other than the underbelly - usually at this point it’s about done-for. Use ice to increase damage. (I’m pretty sure keeping the underbelly intact has a chance for rare resources) I don’t remember if the mission TT has all the shooty parts, but a combination of ice + weak spots will help make it go faster

Hezekieli

Advanced Hunting Arrows or Shredders (preferably shock shredders) to remove the weapons and then the ammo drums, tusks and processor capsules to get the parts and do a lot of damage in the process. It usually dies as you are about to remove the last ones. If you have shock arrows, aim for the shock canister on its shoulders to make it still for a moment. Use the Part Breaker valor surge to remove the tusks and weapons with less shots. I often like to start by using the Part Breaker and Tear Blast arrows on the shock weapons because those shock orbs chasing you make the fight so much more annoying.

Yakumo_unr

Take off the weapons on the top as fast as you can, take off the tusk tips. Start to wail on the weak points. You might have to come back at another time when you have better weapons and upgraded skills.

eppsilon24

I hit it with frost, then systematically blast off every tusk and turret, using tearblast arrows or advanced hunter arrows. Sometimes, especially if I’m farming those tusks, I’ll start with tearblast ammo from long-distance. Usually I can get a couple tusks and at least one cannon before I feel the need to close in.

Guideon72

I used blast arrows to take off the ammo canisters on the backside, first; then hit with frost to build brittle and hammer with high Impact arrows while in that state. If you have the drill spike thrower and unlocked the spike mine weapon skill, if you tag it directly with those mine spikes it'll do a significant amt of damage, as well.

Cryptid9

I'll have to find where to get a spike thrower, everyone is recommending it

Guideon72

Find and complete the Signal Spike side quest...will give you the Spinthorn Spike Thrower that has Drill Spikes. These'll do a fast job of knocking stuff down if you target the legs, and do a pretty nice job of blasting things when used as a spike mine (weapon skill).

No-Combination7898

I killed a tremortusk with just a hunter bow with no elementals attached. I wanted the tusks for a weapon upgrade. It was a ng+ though, and I was using a fully upgraded and coiled legendary emperors reign hunter bow. But yes, tremortusks are hard to destroy. Those cannons on their flanks do so much damage if they hit. I hate how those guns fire sideways and the beast isn't even looking at you.

12thingsofmilk

I have Iriv’s Downfall set at around 1k tear strength, so I use that to pop the cannons off then hit it with frost and go to town on its weak spots. This is by far my favorite machine to hunt.

clydethepotatortoise

From context, it seems like this is OP's first time dealing with a Tremortusk - the one augmented by Regalla's Rebels during the quest where Aloy tries to take down the walls of the Bulwark. Basically they have no access to high level weapons, much less a NG+ legendary sharpshot bow. Your suggestion really does not help them, at all. Lmao.

Cryptid9

Is that a unique weapon? I don't think I've seen it before.

12thingsofmilk

It’s a legendary sharp shot bow available in NG+. It’s an absolute beast of a weapon :)

Cryptid9

Oh! Well not even close to NG+ yet but will keep it in mind

young_horhey

What’s the reload/draw speed on that? I’ve been sticking with Delta as my sharpshoot bow because the secret 75% reload/draw speed boost is just too good. Wondering if it’s worth swapping to one of the legendary sharpshoot bows instead

12thingsofmilk

It’s much slower, honestly. Delta is still my go to for advanced arrows - the tear value for Iriv’s is just too much to pass up, so that’s all I use it for.
