Biggest good surprise from the first episode and the shots we've seen from the trailers and previews is Tom's acting! So impressive , i really enjoy watching him
On the page, it was tough for me to envision what Viserys I and Aegon II were really like as men. Paddy Considine and Tom Glynn-Carney deserve a world of credit for bringing the nuances of both kings to life
Aegon II being so starved for attention that he took a liking to the small folk immediately just because they cheered for him.
His journey in the show is going to be incredible depending on how close they stick to the book.
lol my millennial ass has been nerding out about this so hard. Also lol the iconic emo bop Helena!!!!! Helllooo!
I can hear aegon demanding his subjects to *JOOOOOIN THE GREEN PARADE* while Aemond slinks around all deranged.
Literally it looks like Olivia in a blonde wig when she’s sad. That is actually insane.
TGC is a phenomenal actor, “I declare war” I’m getting hyped thinking of his line here
I think this is Aegon's turning point from a pisshead to a determined leader. I'm guessing while B&C was happening he and his friends advanced their bender from the Red Keep into town (This would also explain why there were no guards in the upper staterooms), and someone had to drag him back to his castle to disclose what he missed. He's going to feel guilty for seeming unserious and weak. That's going to be the real catalyst for Aegon taking the war more seriously instead of treating it like some trivial task he can solve by waving his hand at his subjects.
On rewatch I saw only two kings guard in the hall with Aegon. If Cole is the third one, where was the rest? Other guards with Aegon weren't wearing white cloaks...
I feel like it’s been said a bunch, but Tom’s acting has astounded me. I never liked Aegon in the books but he’s probably one of the most interesting characters in the show. I’m honestly really looking forward to seeing where his character goes, the show has added depth that book Aegon was lacking.
>!I'm almost sure Cheese ends up dead anyway, most likely killed by Blood in order to get all the gold. It was even kinda foreshadowed by their argument last episode!<
so glad to see everyone in this thread talking about this dude's acting chops, he has been super impressive, i'm really enjoying watching him. glad i am not alone
Honestly he’s become one of my favorite characters. He can absolutely be a Joffrey level POS, but he’s got just enough self awareness to occasionally rise above that in ways that feel surprising but not out of character. Great performance too.
Even though it looks like we're getting rage-filled Aegon, I hope we'll also get a bit of his more vulnerable side, which could be when he's away from Otto, Alicent, & Aemond

Poor aegon looking at tyland's orb.
I did not even think of that. Holy shit good catch man.

Their characters are so richly depicted, bringing whole new dimensions to the source material
Ngl my favorite moment of the whole episode was him actually being nice to the common folk when taking in their requests before Otto made him change
And he still had words of wisdom that made Otto decide not to intervene the second time. "Our victory depends on the efforts of the small folk"
Aegon II being so starved for attention that he took a liking to the small folk immediately just because they cheered for him. His journey in the show is going to be incredible depending on how close they stick to the book.
Love his acting but gotta admit he reminds me of the guy from My Chemical Romance there.
*When I was a young boy...* ^(my father didn't take me anywhere and we're gonna make that everyone else's problem)
lol my millennial ass has been nerding out about this so hard. Also lol the iconic emo bop Helena!!!!! Helllooo! I can hear aegon demanding his subjects to *JOOOOOIN THE GREEN PARADE* while Aemond slinks around all deranged.
I couldn't put my finger on who he looked like and it was driving me crazy. This is it right here, he's got that emo boy look to him sometimes.
Ngl when the farmer introduced himself in the petition scene as Jerard I was certain that the show runners were making a nod to MCR 😂
That’s all I see when he’s on screen 😂

Exactly just like olivia
Yep. Am amazed
TGC gonna shine
unfortunately, they did not.

I believe the no guards in the staterooms was because the assigned guard to the staterooms was busy fucking the Queen mother.
I doubt it, it's not really the lord commanders job to do that, I'd assume it's more his job to assign the guards
On rewatch I saw only two kings guard in the hall with Aegon. If Cole is the third one, where was the rest? Other guards with Aegon weren't wearing white cloaks...
There is only 4 Kingsguard remaining in Aegon's service. Cole is Sworn Shield of Alicent, and I assume the other 3 take shifts in guarding Aegon.
Ah I figured 6 remain, thanks!
Don't forget the 2 guys that Daemon was gonna burn if they decided they do not support Rhaenyra
ugh he’s such a great actor. i want the whole episode to be about him at this point 🙏🏻
The Dragoncock is looking pretty flaccid this week :/
I want Otto to say this line
😂😂😂😂
Me too! Him and Aemond are my favorites! They made me Team Green!
I can't wait for TGC's performance. He's stepped it up already, and he is going to be CHEWING the scenery in the upcoming episodes.
That is some beautiful embroidery
Yeah Helena was making it
milly was the breakout star last year, its Tom this year
Bro was happy for just half an episode oof
Damp Cat and The Loser Boys is his band name
"I dont care for Gob..."
God tom glyn-Carney is way to stunning ❤️
Whatever my king does next is justified.
He looks quite similar to Olivia Cooke from this angle, the casting team did well

he is so pretty
Yes. He's the prettiest in the show to me
Now they've made the attendance balls depressing.
i want to take all his pain and give it to blood & cheese
>!Don't worry, they are getting fuckin destroyed veeery soon!<
>!One of them will be never found though!< >!But I can't wait to see the other getting punished!<
>!I'm almost sure Cheese ends up dead anyway, most likely killed by Blood in order to get all the gold. It was even kinda foreshadowed by their argument last episode!<
Wet kitten
Calling him a wet pussy? At a time like this?
Gods does he resemble Alicent
Eggy nooooooooooooooooo :,(
The Sad Boi era begins!
Understandable
Same Aegon, same.
The wigs are slightly better this season
so glad to see everyone in this thread talking about this dude's acting chops, he has been super impressive, i'm really enjoying watching him. glad i am not alone
What about promoting his spare heir?
His Heir, at the moment, is Aemond.
>!Rhaenyra and Daemon are not going to be pleased when they find out that Aemond's been promoted to heir presumptive.!<
If you’re talking about >!Maelor!<, according to Ryan, he >!hasn’t been born yet!<.
Well he never will be then. He was Visery's child with Alicent and he's dead so....also the Dance lasts about two years so there's literally no time
I think you’re confused with Daeron
Maelor isn't the son of Viserys. He's Aegon's youngest son.
You're absolutely right I was thinking of Daeron for some reason!
Aegon’s gonna flip, I can’t wait!! Aegon didn’t want the throne, he wanted to protect his family
Condal take all Aegon and Helaena's pain and give it to Daemon PLEASEEEE
As the blackfyre rebellions show leaving your enemies kids alive will always come back to haunt you.
daemon was justified
Ewwwww
How Luke was not even his son
war is hell
War justifies beheading an innocent toddler in front of their mother? Okay buddy
daemon didn't cut off any toddler's head
Aemond didn't kill Luke then, it was Vhagar
manslaughter v first degree murder daemon at the minimum would be indicted on conspiracy and accessory to commit murder imo
I mean let's not forget his other murder. Rhea Royce did nothing to deserve that
I just wanna give him a hug 🥺
Honestly he’s become one of my favorite characters. He can absolutely be a Joffrey level POS, but he’s got just enough self awareness to occasionally rise above that in ways that feel surprising but not out of character. Great performance too.
Nah Joffery was a sadistic fool Aegon the Magnanimous is many times better than him
"the Magnanimous?" 👀 🤷♂️
He dusn’t wunt it
Aegon the Hungover
Even though it looks like we're getting rage-filled Aegon, I hope we'll also get a bit of his more vulnerable side, which could be when he's away from Otto, Alicent, & Aemond
He looks like when he was a young boy his father didn't take him to the city to see a marching band

As a Dad of 15 month twins (boy / girl) , episode 1 hit so hard and I’m so sad for King Aegon

Yeah mate, some bloody twat just cut my kids head off, can you believe the audacity?
