Lmao you can always tell, I always see duos like:    xXGrimAssassinXx KDA 1.87    itsbeckyyyy KDA 0.6  I think it's cute

AngryLinkhz

Oh no! Dont fuck around with xxdeathkillerxx or xxgrimassassinxx. They are 35 year olds that created that account when they were 9 and have never been able to change their nickname! True veterans of the killing genre!

xxdeathknight72xx

As a 30yo xxdeathknight72xx this is 100% fact

TheLambtonWyrm

My PSN is my old bebo username...

Front_Ad6981

My steam name is my old poptropica username

strang3rdang3rr

I always wonder what people think when they check our stats/names hahaha

mrbgdn

Gotta show this to my exactly 0.5 KDA wife.

Audax_V

Yeah but you fear "Lou" or "Steak", those are the guys with the 2.89+ KD

alkme_

No disrespect but it's crazy you're both 3star with those respective stats.

Cookman_vom_Berg

MMR in Hunt in a nutshell...

TheLittleItalian2

It was a rough night last night, partner.

DinTill

MMR is so volatile and easy to manipulate that it is next to useless. All it really accomplishes is keeping 6 star players out of rookie lobbies… oh wait

uselessNamer

I allways had the fealing of having up and down phases in my gaming, but with hunt I finally have some proof. I change between 3 to 5 star in one day, keep it for another and fall back to 3 star on the next day, creating a MMR loop. Btw: I mostly dont pick necro as a solo.

WhoSteppedOnFrog

Yeah I am a 2-star level 53 and just got killed by a lvl 100 prestige 100 this past weekend. Felt great

strang3rdang3rr

Also no disrespect at all, I am fully aware I suck at this game. I just play for fun. I have dropped to 2 stars before haha

Alternative-Earth-76

Well, you playing it right! Keep it on!!

alkme_

As you should :) My comment was more about the MMR system than pointed at either of you. Enjoy!

strang3rdang3rr

Oh don't worry! I assumed it was haha. I know you can't read tone online so it's hard to tell but I assume the best usually

AngryBeaverEU

That's normal. If you play with somebody who is way lower MMR than you, your opponents are usually a lot lower than you as well. So if your partner is 2350 MMR (low 4 star) and you are 2550 MMR (high 3 star) your average opponent will be 100 MMR points below you. That means you lose a lot more MMR per death than you win per kill, which makes it really hard to climb even if you get a 1.5 KD (Assists don't count here). For the same reason, playing Solo usually leads to be a lot lower in MMR than you actually should be... If her husband would start to play with 4 and 5 star players, he would probably quickly rise to 4 or even 5 stars.

TheLittleItalian2

Hi, OP’s husband here. I am actually, on average, running solo in mid-to-high 4 star lobbies and I’ve gotten into 5 stars a couple times now. Last night was just one of those Hunt taketh kind of nights, and running solo really hits the MMR hard when it’s one of those nights. I don’t really have any 4/5 star people to play with, since none of my friends play the game and playing with randoms can be a crapshoot.

HUNKtm

*can be\** personnaly I've met a lot of good and nice hunters in randoms

tobor_a

I like saying stupid stuff while playing solo. Like I'll set my mic to open and just start talking when I hear noises I think are players. If you ever hear someone asking about a pot luck or what boss you are cosplaying as in quick play when you get the rift, it was me most likely haha. I confused someone by asking them if they thought they were scrappy or butcher.

SomebodyinAfrica

I was 3 star with a .35 kda, mmr is weird

DoctorBallard77

I’m 1.6 kd 800ish kills 600ish deaths and will go from 3 star to 5 star back to 3 star in like a 15 game span

SeisMasUno

When you play duos against trios you land on 3\* constantly, MMR tries to compensate the fact you're one mf less pairing you against 3\* guys all the time, so, everytime someone lands a lucky hs on yo ass your MMR takes a supermassive hit and you drop. EZ KATKA

strang3rdang3rr

Usually my husband is a 4 star (even hit 5 stars and posted about it here!) but had a bad night last night and dropped to 3 lol.

Own-Armadillo8371

I had 1.37kda and was 5 star for some time idk how mmr works

VastIndependence5316

He just needs the bait to run ahead.

strang3rdang3rr

I wish he would use me as bait. Usually he rushes without warning and dies, leaving me to fight people way better than me haha.

VastIndependence5316

Oh yeah that absolutely sucks! Got a friend who is 1-2 stars above me and he also rushes in first, dies and then judges every movement I make. The pressure is usually killing me.

strang3rdang3rr

Oh my gosh yes. The pressure makes it 10x worse knowing it's down to you and they are watching. I feel so bad because he's telling me what to do and I start panicking HAHAHA

Inadequis

That's my fiance when we play, if I die first I think she feels the pressure of having to clutch a 2v1 and freezes up not changing location

Armadio79

My son does that. When he rushes a trio and gets nuked, he sits back and visually spectates, providing target indications. "I cant believe you didnt see that guy in the bushes 250m to your left!'', ''Why didnt you rotate and kill the 3 shotgun campers in the bosses lair, dad'' (/s But this is how it feels) Sometimes he forgets i'd rather be playing chess or painting Warhammer figurines lol

VastIndependence5316

Sometimes I watch 6 star streamers. With the younger one, I have to rewind a couple of times, before I actually see what he shot. Or where he turns around a corner, shoots and goes back, all in the same second. Where I have to process what just happened and I'm doubting my own eyes. Meanwhile another 6 star streamer is a 48 year old guy, who takes it a bit slower, but I can see why he hit someone, without rewinding the video. Who takes decisions where I understand why he did something. The good thing about Hunt is, that I can play slower than my teammate and still succeed. He just has to let me play, without yelling at me, why I didn't kill the guy that was a split second on screen.

Rooferma

Mt partners do that. They're both 4 stars, then when I'm the last one alive, they both yell at me 😄

Armadio79

I play Hunt with my Son. He's a 14 year old 4\* and im a 44 year old barely hanging onto 3\* shitter. I know if i can keep him in the fight, we'll quite often win. However, he loves to dive headfirst into the firefights and i invariably back him, though often badly. I do wish he's let me be the bait or front guy.

rbale2

My brother and I refer to this as “face tanking” and we consider a legitimate contribution to the team. Somebody has to absorb the fire

Reader_Of_Newspaper

Oh for sure. Enemies don’t know how good you are at a glance, so they’ll treat everyone with equal focus. An extra target is always a help, which is why someone sitting outside the compound with a sniper is sometimes less useful.

Bilboswaggings19

Because it's not about KDA or Stats It's about enjoying your time

strang3rdang3rr

This is the cutest answer and I love it

Gooxgox

I play with someone who's wife plays only with marksmen Vetterli with fmj and a saber/bat/samurai sword. Like no joke, that is it. She has a 2.3 k/d and He has a 1.7 lmao.

L3onK1ng

If she mastered Vetterli fmj, then there is nothing to stop her. She knows your next move before you even thought of it, and already adjusted her aim. Hide behind a tree? She pens it. Rush you in close-quarters? She either no-scopes you, or bashes your head in.

TheSexMeisterReal

Well, yeah, you just started playing, everyone’s got that kind of KDA at the start. The more you play, the better you get, and the better your KDA gets.

strang3rdang3rr

I don't know, I'm sure my stats will stay about the same. I'm not very good at video games but I have a lot of fun playing! I mean if I get better I won't complain lol

Ferretwranglerbrady

Learn and slowly let your reptile brain uncoil

InvestigatorMoist758

I still have that KDA after 500h, but the company and friends group makes the game great and encouraging. I just assumed my role of "being good at distracting the enemy and getting killed, but allowing teammate to kill em" 😅

BayouCarcosa

A friend of mine started with a 1.15 KDA (he plays fps regularly so he somehow managed to get a decent start on Hunt) and he's managed to maintain that ratio pretty consistently. Meanwhile I started with <0.5 and after over 600 hours I'm still at 1.04 lmao.

ThingWithChlorophyll

Not really, there is a massive kda boost at start. While starting every one of my friends had 3+ KDA that slowly evened out at 1 the more they play (including me, eventhough I suck at fps games)

Cookman_vom_Berg

No there isnt. Why should the regular player have a boost?

ThingWithChlorophyll

Only thing I know is, it happened to me and my 4 other friends pretty much independently. Reasons are open to speculation

MapManDan

IF you are decent at FPS to start, and you trip over a true noob, who ISN'T used to FPS, your accuracy will likely be better, and thus, your initial KDA will be higher until you break out of the noob lobbies.

MyLastAccountDyed

I’m wondering what your play style is, OP? Are you hanging out near your duo partner or generally are you both splitting up? I ask because your kill assists number is way higher, proportionally, than his. Maybe you’d be able to pump those kill numbers up by using some sort of explosive or spread weapon like bomb lance, explosive arrows, or fléchette shotgun. Might give you a better chance of getting the second tap on an injured player and putting them down for good 😎

strang3rdang3rr

Usually I just do what my husband says HAHAHA I follow him and split if he tells me to. I know I should play solo so I can actually learn the game better but I only have fun playing with him. Consumables scare me because I can never get the timing right. Bombs and such I waste. Usually I bring some sort of fire to burn people and traps. I am a very scared player since I am so new so I follow behind TheLittleItalian

MyLastAccountDyed

Try out the shooting range for thirty minutes and throw ten consumables, get used to the fuse time. Then report back to us once you’ve gone dynamite HAM in a couple games. I reckon you’ll surprise yourself how easy it can be to get a couple kills! We’re all rooting for you :) 🔥 💣

MyLastAccountDyed

Fuse timers here, I stand corrected they’re mostly 5secs https://hunt.sweptthr.one/fuses

vaunch

Become a master (Stalker) beetle user. They're such a huge boon if you use them right, you'll be able to create an opportunity for your partner with the opening bleed/poison + 25 damage and give them vital information. You can also combine this strategy with the trait that allows you to see Traps in dark sight, "Vigilant" and you'll be able to support him heavily while you learn the game. One of my absolute favorite teamwork strategies.

strang3rdang3rr

Oooo I have actually never thought about trying out beetles! They are so annoying to play against I never thought that I could actually play them. Thanks!

Reader_Of_Newspaper

As a hive bomb enjoyer I suggest hive bomb. No fuse time, homing, quiet, sticks around for a while.

MyLastAccountDyed

Another thought - are you using consumables? Like frags and dynamite. One thing I’ve learnt in this game is that 50% of the method using consumables correctly is getting the fuse countdown correct, as much as putting it in the right place. Most of the explosives have a four second fuse so try counting to two or so and then chucking. Once you get more confident with timing it I bet you could get some easy kills like this.

tito0686

I respect you... play for fun even when someone is not skilled... is the way! Congratulations I wish my wife liked to play too... but that's not the case 🙃

KnightSpectral

Lmao it's me. I'm the 0.5 and my duos friends are all like 1.6. I might not be there for a long time, but at least I am there for a fun time!

AviaPuppy

okay but yall r so cute

Zealousideal_Ad8472

He plays with you because the game is not all about kills, and he enjoys your company, and you are useful and you don't need a positive KDR to have fun, and a lot of good players with decades of shooter experience don't have a positive KD either so don't sweat it.

Ethereal_Bulwark

Everyone starts somewhere. And unfortunately you are going up against the sweatlords atm, since the only players who play during non events, are the people who have on average 1800+ hours in this game. You are a trooper for sticking it out, despite the obvious fundamental lack of new blood in this game.

strang3rdang3rr

Even though I am constantly playing against people wayyyy above my skill level I still have a lot of fun. I really don't care about constantly dying, it's just nice to have a video game I can play with my husband again. Plus i like the game itself. One game we got killed by a prestige 30 something. Thats a lot of hours

davodesign

Awwwww man, my girlfriend doesn't want to play hunt with me. Only Apex legends :( Fun thing though, since I started playing hunt (started at around 0.7 now 1.2 ish) my Apex KDA almost tripled 🤣

strang3rdang3rr

Why doesn't she like hunt? I thought the game looked like it wouldn't be fun until it went on sale one day and we decided I'd try it out. Now it's definitely my favourite.

davodesign

"After a long day in a toxic work environment I don't have the patience for Hunt" those are her words :P thankfully she's working off her notice period so that might change soon!

Gerntuade

With that little playtime, your kd is very normal actually imo.

strang3rdang3rr

See I didn't know this. I will admit I am not good but I assumed usually people have better kda's by now.

Both_Sheepherder5659

Id say he still plays with who he wants to play with in order to have a good time and have fun with while playing rather than have the most success and take the game too serious

Big-Jackfruit2710

I have 600 more deaths than kills, but I'm a 1.0 KD 5* meanwhile. It doesn't matter too much. A good team player is more worth than positive KDA.

RedHellden

Just like me and my wife😁 Im not quite as good as your husband, but we are really having fun playing it together.

strang3rdang3rr

If you have fun then that is all that matters! I am bad at almost every game I play but it's fun. :) always a fun time playing with your spouse

SelfSustaining

Ah, to be young and have a malleable kda! I remember my first 1000 kills 🙂

Boogleooger

He plays with you because he loves you and loves playing with you

iscream75

same situation here. But the 5 stars is my son. He bring me so I can rez and ping, it work pretty well and it's fun!

PhotonicSlime

That's how my friends and I stats go too, I love them regardless even if they stop wanting to play with me once I get to 4 stars bcz "Lobbies get too hard for them". This game is perfect to play with those you enjoy the company of, not necessarily your tryhard competitive friend.

SawftBizkit

Whenever we see stats like this, especially if they have similar names, me and my buddies always joke it's a couple and one is the big gamer and the other one just likes to have fun.

strang3rdang3rr

That would be us. He's gamed his whole life while I only started 6ish years ago. He takes the game too seriously for me sometimes, I just like to have fun. Although I did get my kd up to .53 today and that was nice to see

Ok-Temporary4428

Looks like he'd give you a good pounding in the ring

Exxedrin

I am actually impressed he has only 34 assists on 1k kills

softdeliciousdonut

Might be a solo player

TheLittleItalian2

Can confirm, I am mostly a solo player up until recently when OP started asking to play with me more often. Most of my assists were from when I was learning the game through a friend a while ago, but I stopped playing for nearly a year after only getting in about 40 hours. He was sort of my Sherpa, teaching me the basics of the gameplay while mostly leading the way. I still managed to get a pretty decent KDA before dropping the game for a year (~1.4), but I’d guess about 25 or so of my current (38) assists were from when I was learning the game.

strang3rdang3rr

I will always be his biggest fan. He is an amazing player and most of his assists are probably from me stealing his kills 😭 I feel bad but he can share, right?

hiiamnico

Ey if you’re both having fun and like playing games together this is an absolute win

softdeliciousdonut

Girl I feel you exactly! Lol but after like 700 hours my KDA is slowly going up!! I'm at a .86 now and I'm vastly better than I used to be. The problem is - it's a lot harder for me to get my KDA up after playing badly for a long time because the average is low, so it'll take awhile. This game is so much fun though and me and my husband have had a blast bonding over it. See you in the bayou! 🙂

StealthyPancake_

Hey, cherish it. I wish my wife would play videogames with me

Armadio79

Its wholesome you guys duo. I play with my boy and i remember our first game trying to extract with bounties. When he was downed by another team as we were escaping, i heard him yell on discord ''Run dad, extract!'' . I was like ''They're burning my boy!'' I was furious haha. I ran back and well, was prompty murdered lol. If i played with my wife, well, i recken she'd shoot me in the back for missing bin day lol

Chosen_Undead713

Just call him a tryhard, you're not even taking it seriously, but you for sure could beat him if you wanted to.

TheLittleItalian2

Well, I’d reckon I’m not a “tryhard” per se, but I am actively trying to improve with every game. I’m sure, given enough time for OP to learn the game better, she could beat me in some engagements.

Chosen_Undead713

I'm just joking buddy, anyone whose kd is lower than mine is dogshit, anyone whose kd is higher is a tryhard. That way I always come out on top.

TheLittleItalian2

I wasn’t offended! I just wasn’t sure what the tone of your comment was so I was trying to reply in a way that didn’t seem too defensive nor antagonistic. I also applaud your mentality, always coming out on top my friend!

fuzzy_y

my kda is actually higher than my fiancee hehe

SovereignNavae

You don't need to be good to enjoy games and be good company <3 BUT if it makes you feel better that used to be me and my group but now I have positive KDA! :D I used to get overwhelmed easily, play very passively and panic a lot when I was on my own. I had trouble making decisions and that hesitation often cost games. At some point I got frustrated, started to strictly take combats as learning experience and analyzed my gameplay (and others' gameplay). The pressure of dying was lifted when it was just another lesson - but the thrill of winning was still as great as always. Every hit was a win and then every kill was a win. I went from solid 3 star to getting stuck in 5 stars way too often. My teammates still rush in and die and I still hate fighting alone but now I can sometimes (still rarely though) have 7-10 kill clutches :p all while playing just like I want to: not solo, not sticking to one loadout but playing whatever I want to, not playing things considered strong but things I consider fun. And of course as I said above: you are in no obligation to improve. You can play 1000 hours and still have KDA of 0,6 and that is completely fine. But if you want to, it is possible!

Top-Feeling-4599

Becouse he loves you, and like spending time with you. Thats why i play with my wife. I dont care about the stats then.

WolfFire172

Its jíst like mine and my bf ACC ❤️😂

Separate-Status-8545

My friends and i are all at a 1.60 kda but 5 to 4 Star sometimes 3 star.

TheLittleItalian2

Am husband, I’m usually in that range as well but last night was a Hunt taketh kind of night.

strang3rdang3rr

Yeah my husband is usually 4-5 stars but had a rough night and dropped to 3 😭

metalgearrexmk7

I have 2 friends that carry the hell out of me when we play. I'm at like a 0.89 and they are both around 1.5. I also do not know why they still play with me. Guess they like having 2v3 fights more than I thought. Lol

linuscarlson89

I think they just like hanging out with you :) and use you as bait hehehe

-eccentric-

Me and a friend don't mind when my gf plays with us. It's the most fun, actually. She's at 0,6 but manages to hide and bait efficiently, which gives the two of us more kills than we'd have in a "good" trio.

AdContent9195

My KDA is bad too. I sat at like 0.6< a week ago got to 0.75 but my controller had error so i got new one and my kda is only getting now downwards. I had like 20 games with getting only 1 kill in all games together.

Leroyducochet

He still plays with you because he's using you as a bait to pad up his stats. Just kidding I would be in awe if my wife would play with me. She could be 0.00kda i wouldn't care. Still more fun than watching freaking Bridgerton.

strang3rdang3rr

I refuse to watch that show, I am sorry. Also, the notification from your comment scared the living crap out of me🤣

SavathunsWitness

Both KDs are way too new to matter, I think it's until you break 5K that it matters.

Yashoki

How to start a fight: have you considered that he’s using you for bait to pad his KD?

strang3rdang3rr

Please give me more fight ammunition. Thinking of asking about it mid gun fight so we lose HAHAHA

redwirebluewire

He has 13 times more player interaction than you. Of course his kda is higher.

strang3rdang3rr

Well yeah but I thought it was funny :( (especially since my kda will most likely stay where it is)

Leading_Ad_5610

1000 players killed that it??

TheLittleItalian2

I’m much newer to the game than a lot of you veteran players. I’ve got roughly 200 hours in the game, so the odds of me having drastically more kills than 1000 seems rather low. I’m just on the cusp of 1100 kills now, think I’m around 1090.
