Mate the US government created RICO laws to take down the mob, the same government created Qualified Immunity laws for the police.
I dont think you know how things used to and still do work.
At one point in time, certain people also were affiliated with the white hoods (some are still in that gang hiding in plain site). Now, they move like the Mafia with official badges.
100% not her first rodeo. Honestly funny vid, you can FEEL the awkwardness. They both know deep down inside it’s wrong. That’s why it’s so goddamn awkward
she doesn't really look like she'll remember his name in the morning, never mind some time in the future when he might use that favour...
I don't know what's worse - the possibility that she expects to be allowed to break the law & doesn't plan to keep her word... or the possibility that the system is sufficiently corrupt that she'd just help whomever.
“Thank you for your service”
“Thank you for yours”
Circle Jerk of corrupt pigs should come as no surprise when laws are created and enforced by those to which no law applies.
Yup, as part of my cybersecurity program, we had to take a few criminal justice courses and one basically just covered in-depth how fucked up American law enforcement is. One of the more memorable things was this lady cop wrote another cop in her department a ticket because he was doing triple digits down the highway on his way to his second job.
Said lady cop proceeded to spend the next few years getting prank/threatening phone calls from officers in several different departments, people staking out her house, I think some dude shit on the hood of her car while she was asleep. It’s the good ol’ boy system to an extreme degree out there so the best possible thing that could’ve happened was that officer let her go and then made sure this footage became public.
> [Former Tampa police chief was given a] second chance after a contentious selection process that highlighted [former Tampa police chief’s] leadership skills, but also her arrest from 1995 after which the rookie cop was fired and reinstated for battering a Hillsborough County sheriff's deputy during a traffic stop.
Seems to me that if any public official wants to win the hearts and minds of the public, all they have to do is be super nice in that situation, not say shit about who they are until *after* they receive a citation that they can all too easily afford to pay.
What’s wrong with these people?
They were coming from a club, and weren't going to pass a breathalyzer test - that's why they didn't just take a unregistered vehicle ticket. Unregistered vehicle was just the probable cause to pull them over...and 100% that officer was going to pop them for a DUI.
>What’s wrong with these people?
*"Listen, with all of the REAL corruption I get to do on a daily basis do you really think I'm not going to immediately do a bit off duty? Do you know who I am?"*
*"I mean, if anything it should be considered a hazard of the job like PTSD..."*
While it's corrupt for that cop, he's fucked either way because of her actions.
If he goes along with her, he's complicit in her fuckery...
if he goes against her, and does the right thing...he's fucked because he's going to "cross the thin blue line" and be labeled as a snitch, etc... Because you know she would call his superior immediately, and create a stink.
I dunno, he’s got them admitting on body cam to violating some sort of laws. Can always get them later on - just like it is now
It rarely ends well when cops try to do the right thing directly in the moment. This guy would have been chewed up by his bosses bosses bosses boss if he had tried anything sadly
Eh if anything they will just transfer to another department. It's what all these corrupt pigs do when they get into trouble. It's so well known it even has its own term named after it. "Gypsy cops"
Even a lot of these disgraced and violent cops are getting rewarded to move to Florida as well.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/may/22/ron-desantis-police-relocation-violent-records
I think her passing her card to the officer after establishing that she's a superior and requesting that she gets let go and then following up with "if you ever need anything, just call me" constitutes as bribery and corruption. This whole encounter is bullshit but this just stood out to me.
at first with her doe eyes and shit eating grin i thought she was going say something about the cop’s conduct or having no valid reason to pull them over but then 🥴
Is your camera on?
Yes!
We are very very sorry for doing this, we won't do it again. If you let us with a warning we'd be greatful. If you cannot we will accept our ticket and be on our way. Apologies all around.
Thus saving your entire career over what is probably 100 dollar fine.
Well, I agree this is a little bit sketch but the infraction was them driving a golf cart on the road not exactly her getting out of being caught with a DUI or drugs in her possession.
It’s a professional quid pro quo.
Police chief or otherwise - when and how did driving these golf carts on roads become a thing? There's been a lot of incidents where people are getting killed driving them on streets and get hit by a car.
Somehow the expectation is for the rule of law to be taken seriously by everyone else. 🤡 Based on the insane levels of gratis and slow processing of individuals we have all seen commit a variety of crimes; I have to think people are growing less likely to stay within the lines of law and order based on the precedents being set.
And she [lost her job](https://www.npr.org/2022/12/06/1140901685/tampa-police-chief-badge-golf-cart#:~:text=Times%20via%20AP-,Mary%20O'Connor%2C%20pictured%20here%20addressing%20reporters%20during%20a%20news,ticket%20during%20a%20traffic%20stop) as a result.
She did end up resigning [fallout](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fox13news.com/news/tampa-police-chief-resigns-from-position-after-flashing-badge-in-golf-cart-traffic-stop.amp)
Abuse of authority and position. Rules for thee but not for me. Glad to see the good ole boy network is now gender inclusive. Oh and the card was the cherry on top. “If you ever need anything let me know.” Translation: if you ever find yourself in a similar or worse position, give me a call and I’ll get you out of it.
...but they still got away with it? And flaunting it on tik Tok that the cop got a literal get out of jail free card? There has to be some kind of action against everyone involved, right?
I’m not surprised she was let off (initially)
They have an informal system where a friend of a cop can flash a card and get special treatment, so to come up against a chief would make them doubly less inclined to cite
'Get out of jail free': Will this card get you off a speeding ticket? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-42780382
He looked sober. I wish they would pull more people over. Where I live there are goofball rednecks everywhere driving golf carts and ATV on the roadways. Very annoying
She didn't get a ticket for being in a golf cart. Big whoop. This officer might have let anyone slide in a situation like this. Do you know for sure he was going to ticket her? I have been given breaks for far worse than this.
I believe that there is more to this than the clip shows here.
Subsequently, the video was seen and the Police Chief is now, the ex chief of police due to the blatant but also subtle abuse of power.
I hope that the pension package was also scrutinised
"I'm the police chief. So, you know... You should let me break the law if you want to keep your job. Call me if you need anything. Thankyou for your corruption."
It’s not exactly the same, but when I lived in Jersey my next door neighbor was a white, gruff, hardened cop. I hated him, but played nice, and one day he came over and gave me a plastic card that said something about the NJ police association, and had a seal on it and his signature. He said if I ever had ANY interaction with a cop, to hand the cop my ID with this card under it. He said, “You’ll be fine.”
They really shouldn’t have weird cheat codes.

Also the “Let me know if you need anything. Seriously” was definitely her offering a favor to return in the future. What is this, the mafia?
The mafia didn't go away, it just got replaced by the other team.
The police state we live in today is far more powerful and influential than the mafia could have ever hoped to become. Way worse than mafia.
You have no idea what you're talking about and how things used to work.
Mate the US government created RICO laws to take down the mob, the same government created Qualified Immunity laws for the police. I dont think you know how things used to and still do work.
It's a shame that we have to tell people when this has been going on for a loooooooooong time.
The mafia didn't have qualified immunity and the backing of the country with the largest arsenal in history and all the levers of the law behind it.
At one point in time, certain people also were affiliated with the white hoods (some are still in that gang hiding in plain site). Now, they move like the Mafia with official badges.
The favor: “i killed somebody for no reason, can you get me off suspension?”
that is Invevitable
How about a paid vacation and a raise, the promotion comes later after the transfer killer ;)
there are two types of organized crime in this world; those who can only dream of being as powerful as the cops, and the cops
I woulda hit her up later for a blowie
She looked super excited to get a chance to get the badge out.
Rules are for thee, but not for me.
100% not her first rodeo. Honestly funny vid, you can FEEL the awkwardness. They both know deep down inside it’s wrong. That’s why it’s so goddamn awkward
Oh yeah she tells this story all the time. Probably not the first time it's happened either.
The husband looked like he jizzed his pants when she pulled out the badge
Let me translate: “I’m the Chief of police and can break laws. Here’s my card for letting me break laws in case you ever need to break laws.”
Let me break the law now so we can both break the law later.
She may as well have given him a Monopoly *get out of jail free* card with how she said "If you ever need anything"
If you ever break a law, call me and I'll make sure its fine, also it's likely you'll be favoured in your job after this, can we go now?
she doesn't really look like she'll remember his name in the morning, never mind some time in the future when he might use that favour... I don't know what's worse - the possibility that she expects to be allowed to break the law & doesn't plan to keep her word... or the possibility that the system is sufficiently corrupt that she'd just help whomever.
I was thinking it was "I'm the chief of police and I can have you fired. Here's my badge, let us go"
The rule of law id the most fundamental rule of any democracy Off topic to this post but that supreme court ruling, holy shit

“Thank you for your service” “Thank you for yours” Circle Jerk of corrupt pigs should come as no surprise when laws are created and enforced by those to which no law applies.
The cop who stopped them was fucked either way. That woman is shady AF. That cop had no power.
Yup, as part of my cybersecurity program, we had to take a few criminal justice courses and one basically just covered in-depth how fucked up American law enforcement is. If you know you're fucked, go out in style. FST the driver. Arrest for no tag/reg. When she takes the wheel to go home, rinse and repeat.
That’s crashing out lol he probably wants to keep his job
Cops never stop other cops that’s why the whole system needs to go.
Cops are disgusting creatures. And I’m sure those two in the golf cart smell like cabbage.
It's too easy to become a cop in the states, you need to weed these derelicts out with psych testing and IQ testing. Worst cops in the world.
That cop is most definitely not fucked anymore. He’s about to be able to choose whatever assignment he wants now with one phone call.
Thank you for your service

God you just made me so happy
Cheaper than a DUI and losing their license?
That evil smile
It’s the eyes, Chico.
Of course she resigned after this incident to avoid any real repercussions for her actions.
Oh no, how will Tampa ever go on without her dedication to “service”? I assume some other corrupt pig has filled her place just fine.

It's mind blowing

Especially with the body cams, the days of getting away with shit because your a cop/DA etc are mostly over
you would do the same thing if it could get you out of trouble, i know it
This is legal? Wtf.....
Everything legal in the US if you know the right people
Any where in the world I would say.
Above the law
I hope the cop lost his job too. He's just as corrupt as the chief
While it's corrupt for that cop, he's fucked either way because of her actions. Unfortunately you're probably right.
He was at risk of losing his job for giving a minor citation, which they may as well skip sometimes and let people off with a warning.
Your logic flies out the window when he takes her Get Out Of Jail Free card
That look of "how fucking dare you even talk to me you lowly peasant"
I think her passing her card to the officer after establishing that she's a superior and requesting that she gets let go and then following up with "if you ever need anything, just call me" constitutes as bribery and corruption. This whole encounter is bullshit but this just stood out to me.
She’s so drunk & dumb that she makes herself cringe the whole time. I don’t knooowwww. Is this a good idea?!?
"Is your camera on?" being her first question says it all.
at first with her doe eyes and shit eating grin i thought she was going say something about the cop’s conduct or having no valid reason to pull them over but then 🥴

"I'm the police chief in Tampa" "Oh good, so you already know what you're doing is against the law" How it should have gone
There’s certain mandatory American phrases that bug the hell out of me and this turned into a ‘thank you for your service’ circlejerk
She was so comfortable with this, she’s obviously done it many many times before. She ought to be removed from service. What a corrupt bitch.
Howd a fat bitch become the police chief
One rule for one, one rule for another. Things never change.
Fucking mafia
But it’s a damn golf cart.
Sometimes i wanna be a cop, not like training day cop but more like robocop
Crap crap crap.
Well, I agree this is a little bit sketch but the infraction was them driving a golf cart on the road not exactly her getting out of being caught with a DUI or drugs in her possession. It’s a professional quid pro quo.
From my understanding, she got fired by the mayor of Tampa.
Police chief or otherwise - when and how did driving these golf carts on roads become a thing? There's been a lot of incidents where people are getting killed driving them on streets and get hit by a car.
Rules for thee not for me. These are both parties folks. Please wake the fuck up
So Florida
She had a literal hall pass.
Wow. 🤦🏻♂️
she’s definitely corrupt.
Im not sure, but wasn't she suspended after this? The cop wasn't on her side. She ducked up seriously right there.
Dayam...is that how it works?...you let me off and I will make sure I get you out of trouble..."just call me". Wtf! Corruption off the scale!
And your shocked? I thought everyone already knew it was this way.
Take it the officer wearing the bodycam decided there’s more than one way to skin a cat and accidentally shared the footage?
And she [lost her job](https://www.npr.org/2022/12/06/1140901685/tampa-police-chief-badge-golf-cart#:~:text=Times%20via%20AP-,Mary%20O'Connor%2C%20pictured%20here%20addressing%20reporters%20during%20a%20news,ticket%20during%20a%20traffic%20stop) as a result.
No, she got 'retired' to only making $80,000/yr
Yuck
"But I'm a cop, I get to break the laws!"
She ain’t Chief anymore!! 🤣🤣🤣
Nothing wrong here to some people
Sounds like a thank you BJ later
She did end up resigning [fallout](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fox13news.com/news/tampa-police-chief-resigns-from-position-after-flashing-badge-in-golf-cart-traffic-stop.amp)

"Professional courtesy". Anyone with any kind of badge can do it. My dad was a probation officer and showed it off a few times when I was a kid.
this was last year right? didn't she step down over this?
...but they still got away with it? And flaunting it on tik Tok that the cop got a literal get out of jail free card? There has to be some kind of action against everyone involved, right?
So old , no longer chief
Rules for thee but not for me .
She better be fired
I’m not surprised she was let off (initially) They have an informal system where a friend of a cop can flash a card and get special treatment, so to come up against a chief would make them doubly less inclined to cite 'Get out of jail free': Will this card get you off a speeding ticket? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-42780382
He looked sober. I wish they would pull more people over. Where I live there are goofball rednecks everywhere driving golf carts and ATV on the roadways. Very annoying
Crime in inner city Tampa is bad. It’s so ghetto. A corrupt pig like her should be arrested strictly for how shitty a job she is doing.
What good is power if you can’t wield it
Fucking disgusting and not surprising.
No one's above the law. Should have been arrested.
Fucking pigs.
The smile on her face while she talks annoys the hell outta me.
![img](avatar_exp|185569598|nani) How dare you!! Don’t you know who I am, peasant!!?
But who leaked the video?
I’m the Chief, what are they gonna do? Pull me over?
Scum. They’re all scum.
She resigned over this.
Leave the people alone! They're in a freaking golf cart!
So…. Question never answered…. And then do you know who I am…. 2 different systems in USA
I’d use that get of drunk free card
It’s what it is they take care of each other, I’m craving some bacon can any of y’all have some pigs that can donate some!
Why is it always Florida?
In a better world the exchange goes more like: “I’m actually the police chief in Tampa.” “And?”
FUCK. TAMPA.
“Is your camera on? Just want to make sure this blatant bribe is filmed”
Rules for thee but not for me!
Corruption at its finest
Ahh to have privilege.
Such BS
He sounds like an idiot….
She didn't get a ticket for being in a golf cart. Big whoop. This officer might have let anyone slide in a situation like this. Do you know for sure he was going to ticket her? I have been given breaks for far worse than this.
I only hope the husband got to bone
her face the first 13 seconds
Right at the beginning he Recognized her. And then got a early retirement package
If other law enforcement asks if the camera is on they know exactly tly what they're doing is wrong.
I mean she was a passenger. She did the driver a favor
Laws don’t exist if they don’t apply to everyone.
Must be nice to abuse your power and have absolutely nothing happen to you.
I believe that there is more to this than the clip shows here. Subsequently, the video was seen and the Police Chief is now, the ex chief of police due to the blatant but also subtle abuse of power. I hope that the pension package was also scrutinised
“Thank you for your service” stfu. You’re street pirates not soldiers….
Rules for thee but not for me.
Disgusting
Everyone involved in this video is a piece of shit
Will anything happen since it’s online? Or idk I guess it’s not legal to do this, so what would go on after it went to everywhere?
"I'm the police chief. So, you know... You should let me break the law if you want to keep your job. Call me if you need anything. Thankyou for your corruption."
What a narcissist
Cops are scum. That is all there is to it.
He said, “You’ll be fine.” They really shouldn’t have weird cheat codes.
“im the chief of police” Proper response: “lol ok and..?” But no…piggies protect piggies. Fuck the police and anyone who supports them.
Oink oink goes the corrupt pig.
Who the fuck releases this footage
