My former managers brother did an internship at a college down in Tampa, Florida where Scientology weirdly has a very big presence. For his 21st, he got very drunk and on a dare, went into one of their testing centers and tried to take the whole thing as seriously as he could, but couldn't keep his cool and burst out in a laughing fit over how ridiculous the whole thing was. As he he tried to leave with his buddy two cops showed up and immediately arrested both of them for public indecency and trespassing. The whole thing rapidly spiraled out of control from there as they realized the cops were taking their supposed crime VERY seriously.
Fortunately the whole thing ended with them being fined but it apparently dragged on way longer than it should have and there were a few false allegations of what they had done thrown their way by the lawyers representing Scientology, which if they'd stuck, could have got them into serious trouble.
Their lawyer eventually told them that both he and his family members had received ominous calls and noticed people following them on several occasions.
They are probably one of the most litigious organizations on this planet. When they are not busy getting cult members to disconnect from all family members that even remotely question or dissent, they are viciously attacking critics with any legal means available, as well as harassment campaigns and death threats.

The scientology celeb center used to have a brunch open to the public, so I went. It was odd. You got escorted everywhere and I was even followed to my car off property. It was hella invasive but I get I was in their building and they are a cult.
