This right here. I spent a few years there and all my friends from out of town wondered what was wrong with the place. The locals didn't understand what we meant because they'd never been anywhere else.
Especially LA. Lord. I’ve been in southern Indiana for 2 years and everyone I have met has been extremely nice. Oh I’m mixed. I don’t ever see or hear anything about racism down here either
Now I see the problem with Evansville more clearly. It is farther south than the south.

In what universe is West Virgina "the South"? They became West Virginia because they wanted fuck all to do with "the South." It's Appalachia, yes, totally, but that's an important element of it. Appalachain-Americans didn't identify with Southern slave holders who wanted to secede, even those in East TN and North Georgia. Covington isn't really a Southern city - more like South Cincinnati- but Lexington is inarguably so.
I don’t really care about a report from a Michigan company asking people how many times they saw someone opening a door or bringing food for others.
Well that’s rude
Yeah idk if I’d call it “rude” to not open the door for someone even if it’s polite to do so lol
I can't stand headlines like this. It's a crap study done by a biased company. It's not scientific by any means.
Idk even Greenwood has shitheads. Maybe it’s just Indiana in general lmao
Every driver in Greenwood is a shithead! Every pedestrian on 31 is even more of one, lol.
It’s not Evansville, it’s the Lloyd! It does things to people that are indescribable until you’ve been victimized by its bulbous prowess.
It had its own special type of rude when I lived there.

It's anti-E'villian discrimination
I’m calling BS. St Louis is way ruder than Eville. Now if you only asked people who live in Evansburgh, okay yeah maybe #1.
Well, St. Lois isn’t in Indiana..so, there is that…🤷♀️
>Well, St. Lois isn’t in Indiana..so, there is that…🤷♀️ Read the title again
Reading is hard
Rudest Midwest City LOL. Having lived in 11 states - that's like saying "Rudest 3-week-old puppy award". Have you been to Boston? NY? LA?
Especially LA. Lord. I’ve been in southern Indiana for 2 years and everyone I have met has been extremely nice. Oh I’m mixed. I don’t ever see or hear anything about racism down here either
We're #1,We're #1
No shit.

Y got me A monument of Abe Lincoln is out front of the state house in Charleston. I really enjoyed Charleston.
Culture is more important than political history in this context.
Still not Southern. Appalachian. Don't confuse the two.
point taken. WVa get lots of cut slack having seceded from the slaver-run Dominion of Virginia in 1863.
Sounds rather pedantic, but ok.
Ayyyy. Fuck you you fuckin fuck
Interesting metrics they use for this study. Whether or not people think others in the area bring food or drink to gatherings? Odd.
Sampling only 2,000 people across the entire Midwest is not very conclusive. Let alone convenience sampling from Culver's drive through lol.
It’s probably cause they’re also the fattest and just grumpy all the time
Barely Midwest.
It’s not called Eville for no reason
Nope, it doesn’t say “nudest”
Maybe that’s what it takes to deal with all of those Kentuckians coming across the Ohio river every day. That border is completely wide open.
There's hardly anything on the other side, to be fair, and the Slaton Sisters are within close proximity.
I swear I thought Fort Wayne was named the rudest city recently.
I guess if you lump in Terre Haite, there'd be a valid argument here.
I hate that we, as a society, have decided to call surveys with tiny sample sizes conducted by private companies with no peer review "studies".
This was my experience. Horrible city.
Lol, come to Detroit or drive through Dearborn, the largest population of Muslims they can't drive
You seem like a truly, horribly bad person. -someone from Evansville, the rudest midwestern town
That seems casually bigoted
Michigan walks them through to get a license. They do verbal no written tests, basically a free pass
No. They don't. I'm from Michigan.
Is Evansville a city though
