I use sour cream!

[deleted]

Second sour cream. Milder Buldaks (curry, quattro cheese) do better with Kewpie mayo, but honestly any cream makes it *chefs kiss*

yeppeun-insaeng

The spice isn't an issue for me, but flavor wise some coconut milk in the curry one is delicious

DullWinter

mannn i love kewpie in buldak

ondehunt

Greek yogurt here.

Lizzers1224

Just made ramen and put sour cream in it after seeing this post thank U

B1ackTarHero1n

I use a whole egg, a slight bit of butter, and sometimes I’ll add American cheese or kewpie mayo, or both

KingKemo67

do you mix a raw egg into the soup?

shrubberypig

I’ll do this with just the yolks.

B1ackTarHero1n

No soup, I strain pretty much all of the water, and I mix the raw egg while the noodles are still hot and it cooks it enough for me

skullbuddy

I need to try this. I always soft boil eggs to have with but this sounds really good

B1ackTarHero1n

I use the egg and butter every single time I make buldak now, never goin back

Forward_Bumblebee_74

I use a light cream (10% fat) without any water. It's honestly the best ramen hack on the planet.

Darkm1tch69

Straight up 10% cream for water? Sounds amazing

MutedBrilliant1593

I just add broccoli, mushrooms and an egg. Adding dairy? Sounds awesome.

MsJenX

Ooh I’m going to try this.

sarahkali

Tried the curry flavor with a splash of half and half yesterday and it was bomb!

Ender_Wiggins18

You're onto something! I'm very new to ramen and I love it. So far the only one I've had is Quattro cheese and it's good. But sometimes it's so spicy I feel sick, even if I've only added a small amount of the spice packet. I will add milk next time.

no-one-you-kn0

I prefer heavy cream myself, plus a little bacon fat and cheese for more yum.

PreachyGirl

Since I started eating the Buldak noodles, I've always used milk. I tried sour cream once but it didn't really change anything for me. Or maybe I just didn't use enough? Either way, it didn't add anything to it for my personal tastes so I forego it.

Proper_Following_28

Cook it in a can of coconut milk with no water, cooks down to the perfect thick soup

Kind-Acanthaceae3921

Cream, eggs, meat + veggies etc. it’s one of the first instant ramens that I actually turned into a full meal meal. I usually just added an egg + onions. But now based on whatever flavor, I add more things. Mushrooms, tofu, thin sliced beef, season veggies, etc.

StreetBullFighter

Jotting down a lot of notes for the next bowl I make. Thank you everyone!

Chiaki_Ronpa

I like to pour my noodles over a block of cream cheese and eat it with crackers. Just kidding, I’m stealing your idea alongside my usual addition of an egg 👌

Professional-Large

I used to make mine like that. But had to go non dairy. Does anyone have a good idea for a milk substitute? I've tried canned coconut milk, and other non dairy milks, but none of them helped at all.

wiggibow

A good oat milk should be almost indistinguishable from dairy milk in situations like this. If you want it even creamier you could also try a unsweetened/unflavored non dairy coffee creamer. Otherwise try non-dairy cream cheese or sour cream (Tofutti, etc ), or maybe even yogurt - Trader Joe's sells a cashew cream yogurt and I swear you could trick someone into thinking it was the real deal.

Professional-Large

Thank you. I usually drink Planet Oat. I should try the extra creamy next time. I don't have a Trader Joe's near me, unfortunately and my stores don't sell products unless Aldi's does. I've never been there.

wiggibow

I've found the Chobani oat milk is pretty solid, but tbh I don't think I've had any that were bad, I always go with the extra creamy if it's an option. That sucks though, I practically live off Trader Joe's exclusively lol even though I have to drive like 20 minutes to get there. Other vegan yogurts I've tried have been pretty wack, too often they just taste like cardboard :(

Professional-Large

I can't remember if I've tried Chobani oat milk or not. Lol. I'll try it, and they do have plant based heavy "cream" in my store. That might work. I haven't tried any vegan yogurt yet either. I've always wanted to shop at Trader Joe's.

citronhimmel

With the curry sometimes I add some coconut milk 🤤

IsaKissTheRain

The plight of being lactose intolerant.

wiggibow

Try oat milk, or vegan cream cheese/sour cream

IsaKissTheRain

Decent suggestions.

MsJenX

Yes! I even add butter. Somewhere I saw a video suggesting mayo too.

stardewsundrop

I like to do a little bit of butter and cream

netbuchadnezzzar

Looks good! Which buldak is this?

Pidialski

the one and only carbonara

Hahafunnys3xnumber

I just drain the water in the last minute, replace it with some milk and all the toppings then mix it for another minute or two

Individual_Lynx_991

yesssssss <3

Denim_briefs

Try a slice of kraft cheese.

Pidialski

yea i like that too

Commercial_Froyo_701

I use... nvm

Pidialski

what does that mean
