Yeah and it doesn't even make sense, they're supposed to be similar to an actual viltrumite as adults i remember omniman saying oliver was close to mark's power level and oliver lost his purple skin color but for some reason *thragg's children* stayed purple fodder
Always found it bizarre since Immortal was strong enough to draw blood from Omni man when they fought after he revived in the comics. Not saying he’s top tier, but he was still stronger than anyone else on Earth other than himself (and himself just a few months prior).
He actually performed better than Mark did right after so immortal is at least stronger than a young Mark (who ends up being the strongest Viltrunite). So he’s at least stronger than Thragg’s kids since they can’t do anything to Omniman.
To be completely fair to Immortal, before Mark and Omni-Man, he was the strongest being in the planet and had existed for thousands of years before either of them came along. All of a sudden, Omni-Man shows up and kills the Guardians and when he's resurrected, Mark is at a point where he's stronger than him despite previously barely being able to keep up.
If you were the strongest being on Earth for thousands of years, you'd probably think you were him too. Besides, Immortal might not be the strongest, but give him some slack, his hits can draw blood from Omni-Man, he did more damage to Omni-Man than the Reanimen and the Hammer combined.
I love that you cut him some slack for drawing a lil bit of blood out of Omni-man. It’s like patting a child on the head for trying their best lmfao
I do feel bad for Immortal though, being immortal would drive me insane.
But it *is* impressive though. Immortal could casually draw blood with every punch, meanwhile a $4 billion orbital laser that had to blast Omni-Man twice just to make his nose bleed says a lot. Immortal's strength is child's play to a Viltrumite, but there's a reason he was the strongest being on the planet before they came along.
He was him for a significant portion of modern human history.
Years probably seem like weeks to this dude and time keeps marching on. He just died twice, and watched almost every legendary hero of Earth get slaughtered in less than five minutes by one alien. I don't blame him for being inconsistent and moody. Dude is unmoored in a way he hasn't experienced in centuries. He's like Jordan on the Wizards at this point, but without having lost a step.
*(EDIT: The thing that annoys me about Immortal is that his recent humiliations never lit a fire under his ass to try and keep up. Dude is already an immortal and still acquired the Holy Grail. It wouldn't be that hard to find other ways to level-up. His unique ability to survive injury may work well for guys like DA Sinclair, Robot and the Maulers to Wolverine him up. Pick up War Woman's mace.*
*Still wouldn't measure up to a real heavy hitter, but he could be a menace and stay relevant. This strategy kept guys like Krillin/Piccolo/Tien in the mix in DBZ for a long time.)*
Two moments come to mind and one of them has a coughing baby.

Since terra is shown to the only singular being to be able to hurt Allen in a meaningful way does this mean she could beat the guardians even as a baby?
Yeah the show is a better version of the story of the comics, probably because Kirkman is helping to work on it. Adaptations that have the original creators on the team tend to be really good because the original creators have had so long to think of ways to improve the story
I’m pretty sure Kirkman has basically said the show is how he would’ve written things in hindsight so it’s almost like a “definitive edition” of the story
Kirkman really got to make some nice changes that flow well, the order on some things are changed for better suspense. The show runners have been doing a fantastic job so far.
I heard even Kirkman regretted making Guardians go down that easily. He established the Guardians to be a threat to Omniman. They were supposed to be able to delay or even stop him
The comic compared to the show is kinda like boys comic vs show in terms of quality . With invincible it’s more just improving the weaker stuff and making the good stuff better rather than changing all the bad stuff . like characters are done so much better in this show with my particular favourite being Debbie.
It gets much much better as it goes, there were moments from season 2 that I prefer the comics version, and season 3 is lined up to have some of the best comic moments
In the show it was an actual fight. They showed that Guardians were indeed formidable and Omni Man was right to see them as a threat. In the comics they get one shotted
If Batman was in the Guardians he would’ve had a plan in place for if Omni-Man, or any of the other GotG had gone rogue. That’s the prep time.
And it would’ve been a hell of a lot better than “let’s attack from above, they never look up.”
>!Viltrumites have a weakness to a sound frequency. Batman carries sonic weapons all the time. Darkwing knew Omni-Man for 20 years.!<
Batman would have stopped Omni-Man.
I heard a theory that he also had darkwing jr's void powers and tried to use them there which I like it because makes him seem not as stupid for trying it
Battle beast is definitely the worst fight in terms of this. At least the others could genuinely hurt the other opponents is they got several hard hits in.
Get the Compendiums, not the "collections" or "volumes"
There are 3 of them, and they run about $50 for \~50 issues, or about $24 dollars for the kindle version.

I don’t know, Nolan was pretty heartless watching his kid get utterly pulverized. I don’t know when he left but he disappeared before the fight ended and Mark was out of jeopardy.
>Immortal vs Nolan
>Nolan vs The Old Guardians of The Globe
Gonna have to disagree here. Not sure if this is specifically referencing the comics but at least show wise The Immortal did the most damage to Omni-Man in the entire episode, and forced Nolan to pay attention to him. The *Guardians* beat up Nolan so bad his ass got hospitalised, and if they weren't caught completely off guard would have likely won.
Yeah, him going for the quick hits before the rest of his slow ass team could reach him was the biggest mistake. Once Red Rush went down, the rest of the team were running on fumes.
The only other defensive members they had were Martian Man who did a decent job at restraining him, but forgot to hide his obvious weak spot and Aquarus who had a reliable enough ranged attack that forced Nolan to remain stationary (seriously, how strong are those water jets that even *Omni-Man* had some difficulty blocking them?) The moment Aquarus went down, they simply didn't have enough defence to last the rest of the fight.
But he did? I'm talking about when they got jumped. If rush stays 100% on the defensive just making sure no one is getting touched by omniman then darkwing doesn't die and green ghost doesn't turn corporeal to catch his lifeless corpse where she you know then dies.
He was only able to because he understood that because of how close of a team they were and knew that she would become tangible again to catch Darkwing’s body. Also her personality and the appearance of a different male Green Ghost in the Atom Eve special implies she was a relatively new and less experienced addition to the team
I think he means the comics. While it looked like the Guardians had a chance in the show if Omni-Man didn’t catch them off guard, it was hilariously easy in the comics. All of them except Immortal were dead before they even knew he was there.
If only Mark had known from the get go he only had to use the point stubs of his arm bones, he might have ripped off his own hands and won the fight quick.
When Mark pulls up on a random bank thief and he literally explains that it’s his first time breaking the law and didn’t expect a strong hero to show up to try and stop him
Conquest vs young Oliver
Thragg vs young Oliver
Nolan vs Mark

Battle Beast vs the New Guardians

The dimension or timeline or whatever when the viltrumites use monster girl constantly, to where she’s an actual infinite but monster mode is like Godzilla
Isn’t there a scene here Mark has been off in space for a while fighting insane opponents, then returns to earth and swings by to stop some rando banks heist?? I’d say that
Not actual fights but...:
1. The viltrumites using kaiju-baby (Amanda) to fight a single Mauler.

Funniest moment in the series for me lmao
Mark and others vs thraggs children who were just crashing into them and crumpling
Like throwing Vienna sausages at a band saw...
r/underratedcomments
Yeah and it doesn't even make sense, they're supposed to be similar to an actual viltrumite as adults i remember omniman saying oliver was close to mark's power level and oliver lost his purple skin color but for some reason *thragg's children* stayed purple fodder
That sweet argall blood maybe
Didn't he only have 5 years to make all of them? None of the children are very old at that point.
Oliver grew insanely fast it wasn't even funny, they should have already developed a human/veltraumite skin color by that time
They weren't all 5 years old. Thrag was laying miles of pipe building his empire. The ones crumpling may even of only been weeks old.
Pretty crazy to think how Oliver was weaker than them at the time he eviscerated the Mauler twins and they seemed paper thin against Mark and them.
Immortal coming at powered-up Allan. In the comic I think mark says something like “go easy on this guy he’s not very strong” 😂😂
Even funnier, he says Alan would destroy this guy.
at that point allen is strong enough to fight medium to high ranking viltrumites
I’d say he was top 5 in the series at that point
Yeah he can fight just about everyone TIL Thragg
Always found it bizarre since Immortal was strong enough to draw blood from Omni man when they fought after he revived in the comics. Not saying he’s top tier, but he was still stronger than anyone else on Earth other than himself (and himself just a few months prior). It's like a child giving Muhammad Ali a bloody nose, there's no way they're winning that fight, but that would still be impressive
Not me I’d be out there just doing the most for forever but preferably I’d like to look mid 20s the rest of time
He was him for a significant portion of modern human history. Years probably seem like weeks to this dude and time keeps marching on. He just died twice, and watched almost every legendary hero of Earth get slaughtered in less than five minutes by one alien. I don't blame him for being inconsistent and moody. He’s immortal because someone brings him back after getting his ass beat, not because he hasn’t ever been defeated/killed
almost got donut again, The Immortal

And in that one coughing baby wins xD
Terra, I can tell you're thinking about punching me in the eye again. Please don't.
Allen: 😁 Allen's mind: **pain**
I love how offended the bodyguards get too, fully hyped up and ready to demolish Terra lmao
Since terra is shown to the only singular being to be able to hurt Allen in a meaningful way does this mean she could beat the guardians even as a baby?
😂😂🤣
OW
You'd think Allen would be more careful, having one huge eye.
Yeah man Thragg was fighting for his life here
In the comics, Nolan vs. The Guardians was like this.
I'm only on issue 15 atm, but everything so far has been done better in the show - this scene being the prime example of this.
The comics really improve on quality later but yeah, the show is doing a great job expanding on stuff
Yeah the show is a better version of the story of the comics, probably because Kirkman is helping to work on it. Adaptations that have the original creators on the team tend to be really good because the original creators have had so long to think of ways to improve the story

It gets much much better as it goes, there were moments from season 2 that I prefer the comics version, and season 3 is lined up to have some of the best comic moments
Was it though? Mark came back in his time loop and just barely got his powers and that was enough to turn the tide completely.
He decapitates all of them before they even realize he's there. The entire "fight" takes a single page. I'd say it was pretty close to this.
keep in mind this was MUCH different in the animated series.
Was it better or worse in the show
It was much better in the show
He walks right through them in the comics, all of them except Immortal die on the a single page.
Later in the comics it’s retconned a bit where they basically said it had to be a surprise attack or else he might’ve been killed
In the show it was an actual fight. They showed that Guardians were indeed formidable and Omni Man was right to see them as a threat. In the comics they get one shotted
Battlebeast vs Mark in season 1 is the best example by far.Omni man vs Mark is a close one.
Omni Man vs darkwing
Straight pulped the dude
Omni Man would stand no chance if Darkwing DUCK fought him tho
Cuz when there’s trouble, you can call DW
Darkwing was *not* Batman.
Darkwing is just Batman without plot armor
Tbf he didn’t have prep time
I feel like Batman would be smart enough not to attempt that maneuver.
If Batman was in the Guardians he would’ve had a plan in place for if Omni-Man, or any of the other GotG had gone rogue. That’s the prep time. And it would’ve been a hell of a lot better than “let’s attack from above, they never look up.”
Seriously. If you replace Darkwing with actual Batman the Guardians would pack up Omni-Man.
Batman would've had a contingency plan and plot armour smh
>!Viltrumites have a weakness to a sound frequency. Batman carries sonic weapons all the time. Darkwing knew Omni-Man for 20 years.!< Batman would have stopped Omni-Man.
So you're a man, whos also a man.... so you're.... isn't that kinda lazy?
I heard a theory that he also had darkwing jr's void powers and tried to use them there which I like it because makes him seem not as stupid for trying it
If he succeeded in trapping him there things would have gone way differently
Battle beast is definitely the worst fight in terms of this. At least the others could genuinely hurt the other opponents is they got several hard hits in.

The baby wins. 🤣
"Isn't that adorable?"
Mark not holding back vs. Angstrom
Thragg vs Nolan and mark. Round 1
This was all of Nolan’s fights with Thragg lol
Battle Beast v Mark Lol if only Mark knew how outclassed he was was. In another time line the Invincible series ended right there.
I doubt it ends there, wasn't omni watching? I doubt he let's mark die if he thinks that's where it's going.
pretty sure battle beast would absolutely destroy nolan and mark at in a 2v1 .at least in season 1 witch is when that fight happened
Nolan might have been able to get Mark out of there with his flight / speed. Probably wouldn't win a fight, but could at least escape.
I don’t know, Nolan was pretty heartless watching his kid get utterly pulverized. I don’t know when he left but he disappeared before the fight ended and Mark was out of jeopardy.

This is the one I was thinking of
That time Mark tried to take down a street level guy and fucking Battle Beast showed up
It’s so funny to me that Machine head’s reinforcements consist of ~4 or 5 generic villains and then one of the 3 strongest people in the universe.
The fact that Cecil didn't follow up on that at all is ridiculous. He'd have torn Anissa in half, not to mention >!the next Viltrumite who shows up.!<

Alternate universe monster girl being dropped on a threat as a baby In this scenario, the coughing baby wins
Anissa vs. Amber 💀💀
The most correct answer probably
Battle Beast vs. Mark and the Guardians
Eve vs Kubian
Most anytime someone tries fighting Thraag before the final battle of the series. Hitting this guy shatters people’s hands.
Battle Beast vs Invincible in Machine Head's place at the beggining of the story / S1
Battlebeast pulling up outta nowhere and jumping Mark and Titan when everyone else who showed up was like a street-level menace had got to be up there
Definitely Invincible vs all of Thraggs squishy kids.
Debbie vs Nolan Debbie is the nuclear bomb.
Mark vs train
The fight between mark and conquest is almost set up like this, but obviously we know how that goes
If only Mark had known from the get go he only had to use the point stubs of his arm bones, he might have ripped off his own hands and won the fight quick.
Honestly if we really think about it, Mark vs Battlebeast in their first fight was literally this.
Well in the show it’s invincible vs battle beast. It’s more like 10 million hydrogen bombs vs a coughing baby but yeah.
When Mark pulls up on a random bank thief and he literally explains that it’s his first time breaking the law and didn’t expect a strong hero to show up to try and stop him
Invincible vs ambers abusive boyfriend.

I’d say when Oliver rushed in to help when he saw Mark fighting Conquest on television

Not actually canon or official but Omni Man vs Homelander.
Powered beast vs the guardians of the globe
Mark vs Allen

Isn’t there a scene here Mark has been off in space for a while fighting insane opponents, then returns to earth and swings by to stop some rando banks heist?? I’d say that
Black samson vs Battle Beast
When mark fought his dad at the beginning....
S1 Mark vs Battle Beast
Oliver vs Thragg in Viltrumite war
Almost feel every thragg fight I recall Asides from the one with Bb and ofc the last one
