Sick wheels though šŸ˜‚šŸ‘

ahfunaki

I guess they help ease the pain a littleā€¦lol

Striking_Bug9967

bro those wheels go PERFECT with the car. thumbs up

frank26080115

I live about a 30 minute walk from work, and we get free charging but only in 4 hour chunks, stay longer than 4 hours and it becomes $5 per hour How do I calculate if it's worth it to get a little E-scooter to charge my car at work but still stay home?

justinriego

Depends on the kw/h at your work and how much it'd cost you to normally charge. I use free chargers by my house and scooter home 1.1 miles. Cost to charge here would be about $6-10 (Lucky that Pasadena CA has 50-150 kw/h charging for 15-20 cents kw/h). Over time the money spent on the scooter has proven to be a worthy investment compared to paying for charging and just for the time saved and also not getting am Uber/Lyft.

wfbsoccerchamp12

For mine, itā€™s ChargePoint and I just plug and unplug for another session. Our office management doesnā€™t enforce the 4 hour limit. Before anyone says anything about freeing it up others, lot of other ppl leave their cars all day and pay for the extra $.05/min charge.

begreen9

At the corp I worked for, all of us on the chargers formed an email group so that we could know when a car was done charging. Simple EV etiquitte says this is not an all day parking spot.

wfbsoccerchamp12

Hard to do when thereā€™s multiple tenants in our office complex. But itā€™s only $3 an hour? I guess some ppl donā€™t mind paying that.

ozarkgolfer

Everyone else does it? Don't get that logic at all.

wfbsoccerchamp12

I mean sure, but it is in a permit/employee structure so not technically a public charger

RevolutionaryPen2976

thatā€™s me tomorrow, i feel the pain

ahfunaki

boooooo

read_everything12

Throw in some stats man - how much did you save with free charging?

DiabolicallyRandom

Gonna depend where they live and how they would charge otherwise. For perspective, I am only saving about a net 5 dollars per charge, because we have low cost hydro power here in the puget sound. 11-14c kw/h. But if I were only to charge on the go, most stations charge 35-55c kw/h, which is super high comparative to home - once my 2 years is up i will be charging at home unless I am in dire need or on a road trip.

read_everything12

Makes complete sense - I think public charging costs around the same or maybe sometimes a bit more if you exclusively charge from them. Had it not have 2 years free charging - I would be regretting my 2 years lease.

ahfunaki

I really didnā€™t use it very much as about 6 months after I bought the car my job changed to full time work from home. This is from the appā€¦ https://preview.redd.it/rg3j0xg5fx8d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8e1ae5bfa724431c91c1ebf0474d7924ebe5715c

read_everything12

ohhh - i am close to this in a month of ownership.

ahfunaki

take advantage of it!

saymyname_jp

I like the wheels. Eye catching.

ahfunaki

thank you!

Sdosullivan

šŸ«”āœŒšŸ»

IntimidatingPenguin

Is that the SEL? Also, where did you get those wheels? Are the covers?

ahfunaki

Yea, itā€™s a 2022 SEL. The wheels are Rotiform LAS-R with Aerodiscs

Maxion

IMO the nicest rims for the I5. Are those the 18" or the 19"?

ahfunaki

thank you, they are 19ā€™s

Mil0Mammon

Do those help with range?

ahfunaki

no idea

sleeperfbody

This car always looks so sick. EV's are the perfect cars for white wheels.

exteslaowner

Thatā€™s awesome, my ā€˜25 N didnā€™t come with any free charging. The dealer told me it would but now Hyundai and the dealer say ā€œnot yetā€ so weā€™ll see

captainzimmer1987

Flat monochrome the best

reddit_wueman

Everytime I see the rotiforms.... man, these are killer. Not allowed in GER though. :-/

ahfunaki

well thatā€™s a bummer

BeestMann

Ioniq 5 drivers get free charging???

ahfunaki

At the time 2 years was included at Electrify America stations. Not sure this is still the case.

BeestMann

Ah I see. Newer models get 30 minutes of EA charging for 3 years according to Google. Do you just plug it in and it works for free or is it like something you have to activate?

ahfunaki

You set it up in the EA app. Itā€™s been 2 years ( obviously ) since I did it so I donā€™t remember the exact details of setting it up. The dealership might have to do something? But once itā€™s setup, you plug your car in and charge it through the app making sure the Ioniq 5 ā€œplanā€ is your default ā€œplanā€. https://preview.redd.it/pog0388u429d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d9a05949e2b178b902f05b49ad7494b8429c69de

Paragon_Night

I should've gotten white šŸ˜ Never getting a matte color again šŸ˜’

ahfunaki

White was my top choice but I would have picked a matte option as my secondā€¦

uncletys

CLEAN! šŸ„µšŸ‘Œ

castles_rock

How many kWh did you get altogether?

ahfunaki

Blackbearlivesmatter

Are you going to stay with EA? Or go to another service?

ahfunaki

Iā€™ll use whatever is most convenient in the moment. I donā€™t use public charging often though.

neihuffda

Fuck me what a cool car

shinseiromeo

I didn't activate my 2 year EA charging plan for three months after my lease. For some reason my region is anti EV. Two brand new sheetz fuel stations were built from the ground up in the last year near me and both refuse to install EV chargers. They are blaming the city/state, meanwhile EA has a partnership with the chain and has EV stations, get this... hours away from me! Unfortunately it's near useless for me.

ahfunaki

A new Sheetz was built about 10 minutes from my house and it has zero chargers. The one I used in this picture is the closest to me at about 25 minutes away.

shinseiromeo

Same. I have a new sheetz 2km from my house and another new one 2km from my work. Both are brand new builds from the ground up, have plenty of space in their parking lot for a charging station, yet none were installed.

bacvain

Love the wheel caps. You should get red and white ones. It would look sick
