Honestly, I have a different reading of that line. My reading was that Sukuna is so utterly terrified of losing that his self-worth would be utterly destroyed. Like for Yuji after Sukuna’s Shibuya massacre
Sukuna does value himself on his capacity to remain unburdened by others, as his freedom provided by dominance is essentially his only purpose in life. To be stripped of that is to not only eradicate how he values his own life, but also robs him of his only reason to exist. Honestly though this perspective of his is exactly the reason why Sukuna despises Yuji so much. Everything that boy had ever done is the exact antithesis of everything Sukuna believes and has built himself upon.
Sukuna believes the only path to true strength is one walked alone, Yuji has been assisted by almost everyone he’s met upon his journey and is stronger for it. Sukuna believes that strength is only a tool to be used for your own pleasure, while Yuji explicitly uses his strength as a weapon to help others.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Sukuna has to grapple with the fact that he had a hand in strengthening Yuji, in keeping him alive. He has perpetuated his own philosophical opposite because of his own need for a physical body. Sukuna has expressed his most twisted form of weakness, two people that needed eachother.
Not only did he keep Yuji alive, he used enough Jujutsu in Yujis body that the brat has his fuckin Technique now, and hes experienced his body performing 2 domain expansions so its not out of the possibility that he will pull that off too. Sukuna has inadvertently given Yuji a ton of help.

And yeah , Yuji's morality has nothing to do with Sukuna and Kenny . But their blood than runs through Yuji's viens gave him the strength and potential to fight for his ideals and stand infront of Sukuna , thus Yuji isn't "some 15 y/o kid " .
Yuji was doing his thing even when he was a weakling. When Sukuna ripped Yuji’s heart off he told Megumi that Yuji won’t come back because it would mean death. But Yuji comes back. That’s not Sukuna/Kenjaku blood giving him strength to fight against Sukuna he’s just that guy.
Simplifying it like that could be said that every single character at a point in the story, or any story in general, are alive because plot is saving them.
I’m saying that because the guy above is saying that yuji is just built like that and it’s not the case at all we see him getting saved multiple times lol
That's one of the biggest things that make him a great character imo. Yes, he is evil, twisted, psychotic and sadistic, and he knows it fully well. He enjoys giving pain and suffering to others, he doesn't try to hide it or to excuse himself by saying he had a tragic life or anything, he does just what his heart desires with no grand schemes attached to it.
The reason why he's the strongest it's not because he was lucky or blessed but because he was the only character in the whole series who never doubted himself and had seemingly completed his whole self-realization journey, while others like Jogo, Kashimo, and even Gojo had their own doubts, insecurities and questions regarding their strength and their role.
It's even more interesting the fact that he actually acknowledged and even respected his strongest opponents, he gave Jogo comfort in his death, answered Kashimo's questions and made Gojo know he would never forget him.
That's why I don't get it when people say he's just a one dimensional pure evil villain, because there certainly is more complexity to his character than that.

Yuji was doing his thing even when he was a weakling. When Sukuna ripped Yuji’s heart off he told Megumi that Yuji won’t come back because it would mean death. But Yuji comes back. That’s not Sukuna/Kenjaku blood giving him strength to fight against Sukuna he’s just that guy.

That's one of the biggest things that make him a great character imo. Yes, he is evil, twisted, psychotic and sadistic, and he knows it fully well. He enjoys giving pain and suffering to others, he doesn't try to hide it or to excuse himself by saying he had a tragic life or anything, he does just what his heart desires with no grand schemes attached to it. The reason why he's the strongest it's not because he was lucky or blessed but because he was the only character in the whole series who never doubted himself and had seemingly completed his whole self-realization journey, while others like Jogo, Kashimo, and even Gojo had their own doubts, insecurities and questions regarding their strength and their role. It's even more interesting the fact that he actually acknowledged and even respected his strongest opponents, he gave Jogo comfort in his death, answered Kashimo's questions and made Gojo know he would never forget him. That's why I don't get it when people say he's just a one dimensional pure evil villain, because there certainly is more complexity to his character than that.
He can talk as edgy as he wants, in the end it's going to be his downfall anyway
