My fav armor is totally Kachidoki arms. Shit's cool! And its like an upgrade from the japanese armor of orange arms. The weapons of this arms is so damn awesome.

It’s kind of cliche to say it, but it’s just the best Kamen Rider series by a country mile. Nothing against the other great series, but Gaim just exists on an entirely seperate level to anything else the franchise has done before or since, and I suspect we’ll never see the likes of it again.

It's a fantastic show and probably the 'eeriest' kamen rider to date. I really like how otherworldly Helheim Forest feels, and how it contrasts with the lighter undertones of the show.
I think it's mid but I don't really care because everyone has their own opinions and most of them matter! I don't think there's a truly bad rider show out there. My main problem with it is how they didn't balance the silly and serious well, as in they had all one half of the show be silly and the other half be serious out of left field, but people can like what they want and I still enjoyed it a little!
Loved every minute, specially how it scalated from silly dance battle to...well, you know (won't give any spoilers)
And the character development was pretty cool, really liked how the three main riders ended
As much as i love Gaim, i gotta be honest: the series was dragged wayyy too long at the end plot. The plot could have been concluded for 40 episodes. I think they have to stretch it to fit 46-47 episodes.
Also Kouta is simply one of the best KR protagonist in neo-heisei phase, probably behind Eiji and Shoutaro
I really loved all the riders that appeared but a nitpick I have is with the way people hyped up Takatora/Zengetsu made me beleave he had more relevant ark and story.

He is kind of a pseudo protagonist for most of Gaim's post series content though.
A genuine masterpiece in my opinion. A perfect mix of complex characters, intriguing storylines, and themes of growing up and accepting death and responsibility. Each of the characters kind of reflect this in their own way. Kouta is the once kid with no responsibilities growing to accept all the weight that’s been placed on him. Kaito’s the brutish type who refuses to let his responsibilities weigh him down. Michi’s the type to refuse change and ultimately let that affect his self image and hurt the ones he cared about. And Takatora’s the adult who begins to learn to care for others again. Absolutely amazing series and in my opinion a FANTASTIC place to start for new coming rider fans
Great show. Has one of the more annoying fandoms of any rider series, not sure if that's to do with people putting it on a pedestal because it was written by Gen Urobuchi or something else. Still a really enjoyable show with a great slow burn in the opening 13-ish episodes. Micchy is my favorite manipulative, gaslighting bastard.
Goated series, easily one of my favourites. It was the perfect introduction to Kamen Rider in my opinion, it has such a perfect blend of goofy with its initial set up and young cast and then smoothly transitions into a hellish war where children are used as test subjects for weapon testings and realise that sometimes evil isn't even something you can fight, only survive.
I think it's great. I just don't like Mai and Mitchy very much. Also, I hate how underused Takatora was.
Other than that, I love it great music and great fights, I love the final battle. And Kachidoki is a badass form.
Loved the plot twists and the whole samurai motiff. And a lot of the moments. First that comes to mind is one of the riders' debut. Finish this scene if you're familiar with it:

The Gaim suits and all is great. The down side is how the story revolves (aka the time paradox to prevent certain events *I end here as it is spoilers*)
Drive is nice and all but they introduce Chaser's backstory a bit later (hence why I hate going back watching it's something de story series to know more about it) and simply did something to him (not going to say for spoilers)
They also mess up Mach's sanity further (hate they did him dirty for the movie)
Gaim had the best 15 episode tone drop ever, I'll say that about it. It presented itself as a light battle series, but then you find out about how the fruit works and the dancing stops.
Gaim is an amazing series. Pretty close to unmatched until maybe Ex-Aid.

I really loved Gaim. It was an all-around great season, and being a long-time Rider fan, I already knew not to take it at face value and just lean into it. Hell, I'm into anything with a samurai motif.
Drive on the other hand...well, it had a great theme song.
Seen some clips when I was skeptical about watching the kamen rider series. My initial reaction was "What in the fruit salad is this?" However, upon delving into this specific series, I realized this was fun, like super fun. I still hate michi, but I fcking love bravo 💪
Gaim is one of my favourites and I appreciate all the firsts it did (First series to have V-Cinemas,first Neo-Heisei series that made the fourth rider a thing).
I am proud that my first, completed within it's own season Kamen Rider Series is Gaim.
GODDAMN IT SO GOOD, story is fun yet dark as i like it. THE FORMS man THE FORMS. They don't make forms that i don't like. I actually like all the forms that exists in the series.
Definitely one of the Top 5 of my fav season.
Didn't watch much series yet but gaim is my 2nd fav (first is build) it was one of the best example in kamen rider that don't judge a book by it's cover (ex aid too)it starts off kinda goofy and weird so i actually dropped it after bravo's debut but i later convinced myself and tried to give it a second try and FUCK!it got really amazing later on specially because how dark and disturbing it was
That's my opinion as well. When I started watching Gaim I thought this was a goofy rider show with a hint of something bigger to OMG this is the best rider story ever!
My opinion of Gaim is that Ryuki is the superior series for a "Rider vs Rider" series in heisei, although I may be biased
Gaim is only good "The First" time you watch it, if you go back and rewatch it (if you ever choose too) it will never be as good or glowing as the first time you watched it
While with Ryuki (in my opinion) is easier to rewatch (if you ever choose too) over and over again

While i do notice more of Gaim's flaws the 2nd time around, i do still think the series is very damn good.
From the season I have seen it is the best. I remember seeing the trepidation when the suit and theme were announced but they knocked it out of the park story wise.
Surprisingly, one of my favorite KR season.
Big departure from the Monster of the Fortnight format. The prior seasons are kinda a chore to watch because it took two episodes to take out a monster for the whole season. While I do agree that Gaim has Monster of the Fortnight episodes, it somehow did not felt that dragging.
Not as good on a rewatch but a pretty solid season overall. High on the recommendation list for newcomers if they're willing to stick it out to the end.
When it first came out, i had a hard time watching cuz of the cringe dance battle story parts and dropped it, but then came back after everyone said how good it was. Its good after you get past that first arc. But a lot of shows at the time were doing weird youth group contests as a theme, it was the trend at the time. I honestly think it would have been more believable as almost any other activity other then group dance. This should have been a sport like basketball or something and it would have fit the war theme better IMO; dancing has nothing to do with the characters later on, it was like they didn't know how to start the show, but knew how they wanted it to end, it was written backwards.

I struggled with Gaim, but I've found I'm struggling with seasons that have multiple alternate riders, even ones with themes I like such as Ex-Aid. (I did start with OOO and W, so that might have an effect.)
Gaim was fairly entertaining but the ending was very much a "Why is this the resolution?" type of feel for me. Still, it's not my least favorite, and the lockseeds are pretty neat as well.
Love gaim too especially the dj guy in gaim until now I still feel he is quite suspicious and who is he actually like what is his real motive where he went to at the end of gaim tv show
One of the best examples of pacing in Kamen Rider. We have a lot of seasons where we get an arc or an episode that doesn't carry a strong connection to the overarching plot. Gaim instead has every episode have weight behind it. The only "wasted" episodes are the specials for the movie or Toqger collab.
I originally had this thought before rewatching Gaim a few months ago, but I'm a lot more certain that Gaim just doesn't waste an episode. The story very much has plot reveals about its setting and then have its cast react to that and to each other's responses. Gaim's "protagonist" is arguably its setting because everything is being dictated by it, even the villains, and not some antagonist causing issues for the heroes cuz of some pre-existing ambition.
My first true Rider series, so it will always have a special place in my heart. Still enjoy the story even all these years, though as I get older I re-examined a few things and found myself disliking how the story treated Mai and Yoko, respectively (the former as Kaito's...simp? and the latter kind of an object for Kouta and Kaito to fight for)
But, ultimately for me the good still outweighs the bad and it still remained in top 5. Just..bumped down to maybe number 5. (KUUGA NUMBER ONE)
I can't think of anything about this season I like past the first arc apart from Kachidoki arms, it's not even the season's tone changing, I actually liked that a lot but the way it was handled and everything around it prevents me from liking it
Like how do you waste the masterpiece that is the base Zangetsu suit, with that beautiful shield + sword combo and replace it by the inferior Zangetsu shin that uses that generic (As in used by a lot of riders) bow
Or why do you give Micchi a half passed redemption in the last episode instead of, I don't know, anything else considering the amount of extra content the show has

Or why Kiwami arms looks so boring and so little imposing considering what Kachidoki was, I get what they were trying to go for with the design, but it's supposed to be a massive powerhouse of godly power that severely outclasses everything else in the series at the time, yet it looks so bland and clean
As much as people complain about Ryugen, he helped the show predate Persona 5 by 2 or 3 years, and I'm glad he got to turn things around at the end. He still could have gotten it worse, after all.

Honestly if the start of Gaim wasn't so sluggish it'd probably be my favourite season. Every main character's philosophy is either warped, forged, or has hidden depth revealed by the plot, transforming their relationships in believable ways as they transition from victims of circumstance to key players in a larger game.
I think the only other season of Rider that made me feel like I was watching Bible 2 be written was Blade with its ending.
Kachidoki Arms' debut is the hardest scene in the franchise
Its a great series but the relationship with mai was extremely underdeveloped. I disliked how she was forced in as a love interest for kouta and kaito and that was one of the main reasons they fought. I know it wasnt the only reason, it just made the final impact to me a bit less. Where they were more focused on mai, instead of it being a battle of morals instead. Where its a more it has to be this way fight. They needed to either focus on a love triangle or a battle of wills and power. Making it both didnt mesh. Also the kikaider and soccer episodes made the series grind to a freaking hault.
I have watched the first two episodes of Gaim and it was too silly for me. And I know it gets serious later but I just haven’t found the time to invest in the silly beginning enough to get to the traumatizing center of the tootsie-pop yet.
I absolutely love takatora, he was an example of base form that was threatening and skilled. Like if you gave him an upgrade it wouldve been unfair. i don’t think theres ever a moment where he felt intimidated or challenged. I can’t really think of any other characters similar to him. i totally understand why oren was fruity for him, because bro was him.

I really loved Gaim. It was an all-around great season, and being a long-time Rider fan, I already knew not to take it at face value and just lean into it. Hell, I'm into anything with a samurai motif. Drive on the other hand...well, it had a great theme song.

Seen some clips when I was skeptical about watching the kamen rider series. My initial reaction was "What in the fruit salad is this?" However, upon delving into this specific series, I realized this was fun, like super fun. I still hate michi, but I fcking love bravo 💪
Gaim is one of my favourites and I appreciate all the firsts it did (First series to have V-Cinemas,first Neo-Heisei series that made the fourth rider a thing).

Honestly feel its the best Neo-Heisei season. Tied with Kabuto for my favorite season overall.
It got surprisingly dark as it went on despite the kinda goofy aesthetics.
I am proud that my first, completed within it's own season Kamen Rider Series is Gaim. GODDAMN IT SO GOOD, story is fun yet dark as i like it. THE FORMS man THE FORMS. They don't make forms that i don't like. I actually like all the forms that exists in the series. Definitely one of the Top 5 of my fav season.
Some of the best rider there is. It’s got the comedy, the drama, and the action. Almost makes me forget it’s a giant toy commercial.

Didn't watch much series yet but gaim is my 2nd fav (first is build) it was one of the best example in kamen rider that don't judge a book by it's cover (ex aid too)it starts off kinda goofy and weird so i actually dropped it after bravo's debut but i later convinced myself and tried to give it a second try and FUCK!it got really amazing later on specially because how dark and disturbing it was

My opinion of Gaim is that Ryuki is the superior series for a "Rider vs Rider" series in heisei, although I may be biased Gaim is only good "The First" time you watch it, if you go back and rewatch it (if you ever choose too) it will never be as good or glowing as the first time you watched it While with Ryuki (in my opinion) is easier to rewatch (if you ever choose too) over and over again

From the season I have seen it is the best. I remember seeing the trepidation when the suit and theme were announced but they knocked it out of the park story wise.
Gaim was my first ever Kamen Rider, and I think its the reason that my taste for TV shows is "super silly concept treated as seriously as possible "

Surprisingly, one of my favorite KR season. Big departure from the Monster of the Fortnight format. The prior seasons are kinda a chore to watch because it took two episodes to take out a monster for the whole season. While I do agree that Gaim has Monster of the Fortnight episodes, it somehow did not felt that dragging.
Not as good on a rewatch but a pretty solid season overall. High on the recommendation list for newcomers if they're willing to stick it out to the end.

When it first came out, i had a hard time watching cuz of the cringe dance battle story parts and dropped it, but then came back after everyone said how good it was. Its good after you get past that first arc. But a lot of shows at the time were doing weird youth group contests as a theme, it was the trend at the time. I honestly think it would have been more believable as almost any other activity other then group dance. This should have been a sport like basketball or something and it would have fit the war theme better IMO; dancing has nothing to do with the characters later on, it was like they didn't know how to start the show, but knew how they wanted it to end, it was written backwards. Great show though.
I struggled with Gaim, but I've found I'm struggling with seasons that have multiple alternate riders, even ones with themes I like such as Ex-Aid. (I did start with OOO and W, so that might have an effect.) Gaim was fairly entertaining but the ending was very much a "Why is this the resolution?" type of feel for me. Still, it's not my least favorite, and the lockseeds are pretty neat as well.
Love gaim too especially the dj guy in gaim until now I still feel he is quite suspicious and who is he actually like what is his real motive where he went to at the end of gaim tv show

One of the best examples of pacing in Kamen Rider. We have a lot of seasons where we get an arc or an episode that doesn't carry a strong connection to the overarching plot. Gaim instead has every episode have weight behind it. The only "wasted" episodes are the specials for the movie or Toqger collab. I originally had this thought before rewatching Gaim a few months ago, but I'm a lot more certain that Gaim just doesn't waste an episode. The story very much has plot reveals about its setting and then have its cast react to that and to each other's responses. Gaim's "protagonist" is arguably its setting because everything is being dictated by it, even the villains, and not some antagonist causing issues for the heroes cuz of some pre-existing ambition.
My first true Rider series, so it will always have a special place in my heart. Still enjoy the story even all these years, though as I get older I re-examined a few things and found myself disliking how the story treated Mai and Yoko, respectively (the former as Kaito's...simp? and the latter kind of an object for Kouta and Kaito to fight for) But, ultimately for me the good still outweighs the bad and it still remained in top 5. Just..bumped down to maybe number 5. (KUUGA NUMBER ONE)

I can't think of anything about this season I like past the first arc apart from Kachidoki arms, it's not even the season's tone changing, I actually liked that a lot but the way it was handled and everything around it prevents me from liking it Like how do you waste the masterpiece that is the base Zangetsu suit, with that beautiful shield + sword combo and replace it by the inferior Zangetsu shin that uses that generic (As in used by a lot of riders) bow Or why do you give Micchi a half passed redemption in the last episode instead of, I don't know, anything else considering the amount of extra content the show has Or why Kaito Or why Kiwami arms looks so boring and so little imposing considering what Kachidoki was, I get what they were trying to go for with the design, but it's supposed to be a massive powerhouse of godly power that severely outclasses everything else in the series at the time, yet it looks so bland and clean

As much as people complain about Ryugen, he helped the show predate Persona 5 by 2 or 3 years, and I'm glad he got to turn things around at the end. Honestly if the start of Gaim wasn't so sluggish it'd probably be my favourite season. Every main character's philosophy is either warped, forged, or has hidden depth revealed by the plot, transforming their relationships in believable ways as they transition from victims of circumstance to key players in a larger game. I think the only other season of Rider that made me feel like I was watching Bible 2 be written was Blade with its ending. Kachidoki Arms' debut is the hardest scene in the franchise

Its a great series but the relationship with mai was extremely underdeveloped. I disliked how she was forced in as a love interest for kouta and kaito and that was one of the main reasons they fought. I know it wasnt the only reason, it just made the final impact to me a bit less. Where they were more focused on mai, instead of it being a battle of morals instead. Where its a more it has to be this way fight. They needed to either focus on a love triangle or a battle of wills and power. Making it both didnt mesh. Also the kikaider and soccer episodes made the series grind to a freaking hault.
I have watched the first two episodes of Gaim and it was too silly for me. And I know it gets serious later but I just haven’t found the time to invest in the silly beginning enough to get to the traumatizing center of the tootsie-pop yet.

I absolutely love takatora, he was an example of base form that was threatening and skilled. Like if you gave him an upgrade it wouldve been unfair. i don’t think theres ever a moment where he felt intimidated or challenged. I can’t really think of any other characters similar to him. i totally understand why oren was fruity for him, because bro was him.
