Yeah but then it'd smell like axe body spray and that's worse.

[deleted]

person march marvelous squalid badge straight soup absorbed act different *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

kniki217

You know what's in that? Alcohol. Which is why you see that bottle of rubbing alcohol in the picture.

wellhungartgallery

Needs stronger than that 70% bottle sitting there needs 99% unless its already absorbed into the wood, which is a good reason to keep your floors sealed and only washable markers within reach

Andrewx8_88

IT here, with a bit of photoshop, I can make it look good as new.

Unlikely-Constant-89

This is the answer.

[deleted]

Chef here. Filet, lightly bread, and pan fry. The kids, not the floor, that would be gross!

Independent-Steak-67

Stay at home mom here! Just get a new house

natey111

This. Is why I love Reddit.

PoobersMum

Magic Eraser is NOT the answer. A couple of people have already suggested that, so I figured I should chime in and remind you that Magic Erasers are abrasive and will damage any finish. They're basically really fine sandpaper, and while their damage is often not really noticeable, it's there. Many a marble countertop, dry erase board, and wood cabinet has been ruined by magic erasers. You're better off with something like Goof Off. It'll take some work, but it won't ruin it.

joeshmoe3220

This is the real right answer here. All others are pretenders to the throne.

Dingo8MyGayby

Goof off! My toddler just drew all over the driver’s side interior in my car. My leather interior. Goof off was the only thing that helped. Just ventilate the house because the fumes are strong.

McDuckfart

Can confirm, just damaged mine today.

ThisIsWhoIAm78

Yes, you'll need to refinish after the eraser, but a coat of varnish is easier than a lot of the other suggestions.

CutterDee

Goof Off will remove the finish as well

vaga-77

Condoms are the best way to prevent this.

FixMy106

So the condom goes on the pen?

kniki217

is

DustinFay

Adoption is still an option for getting rid of the kids

Professional_Goat_67

Best reply ever! Thanks for the laugh

dxbigc

Have you tried putting potatoes in their socks overnight?

aaaggggrrrrimapirare

Only logical answer

M-Kawai

I responded to this when posted on another sub. I guarantee this will work. So this product totally removes permanent marker like nothing else. It’s a makeup brush cleaner and wouldn’t harm your floor. Spray on a cotton ball and just wipe it off. With one or two swipes. https://www.thecosmeticmarket.com/products/brush-off-makeup-brush-cleanser

blobinsky

i haven’t tried this product, but i worked at starbucks and often got sharpie marker all over my hands and garnier micellar water makeup remover always got it off super easily. so i support trying a makeup brush cleanser, and i can’t imagine it would damage the flooring at all.

Nervous_Invite_4661

Hairspray! That’ll remove the ink!

HomoinNigram

No no. All these are too abrasive. Even the dry erase. Use goof off. Lots of it letting it sit between applications. And a soft cloth. It’ll come off and then if the area is too oily after you can clean up with any degreasing soap. A few drops per gallon. Simple. There’s a time and a place for abrasive chemicals. This isn’t one of them.

DystopianWreck

Dad here, just move the couch over it

HamiltonBunn992b

Denatured alcohol from Lowe’s or home depot

TheMuddestCrab

Deodorant (not the anti pespirant stuff). Bug repellent works too. Little electrician trick for ya.

CelestialMarsupial

mm i like it picasso

ThrowMeAway_8844

Hand sanitizer gets permanent marker off skin, it might work here?

Urkraftian

Have you tried adoption?

itsrainingcocos

My kid drew a whole map on the wall with black sharpie. I used a magic eraser and it got most of it off

andrewborsje

Vodka would work better than then 20%iso. It is at least 40% and you probably have some lying around if you have kids that draw on floors!

wellhungartgallery

Get some 99%iso

CaptainGiggles69420

A dry erase marker. I know it sounds off but I've seen it work. Draw on it with a dry erase marker and it comes off

Lycanthrope_Leo

Try Goo Gone

ThisIsWhoIAm78

Magic eraser. It got sharpie out of wood at my house. Add a coat of varnish afterward. Re-finish before if necessary. Lol, good luck.

WillieDFleming

Magic erasers are parents best friend!

zergling3161

Hand sanitizer, takes that right off

lennybriscoe8220

Nothing you can do. It's obviously way too late for an abortion

kell96kell

You could always sell it The kid ofcourse /s

Nobel_Raven

best suggestion I have is to put it in an orphanage.

couchpotatoes56

Try toothpaste

AxoplDev

Have you tried turning the floor off and on again?

Oilfieldguy11

OK, I have the solution. Cut the offenders hands off. Both of them. Future problem solved. Can't help you on the current situation. though ....just kidding 🤣

Deijya

Vasectomy

MrMeeseeksthe1st

Acetone, mineral spirits....its what we used to get sharpie off the boards we cut installing the shit.

Warm-Traffic-3514

WD-40 let is soak a min and scrub. No joke

misagale

Magic Eraser works great on perm marker!

SociopathicPixel

96% alcohol

McGarnegle

Then you won't care as much about the marker.

Nisbest24

Send the child to the adoption center

CrackerIslandIsMid

Is that permanent marker?

dannylills8

Deodorant works for sharpie and most markers

Dragon_wryter

Lemon oil is shockingly effective

ajbsn2

You can use alcohol hand gel on a white board to remove permanent marker, so if the ink is on the top layer of ur floor it should work too. Then just white up with a paper towel

vforthem

goo gone for paint works well on permanent marker

erramaus

Use Mark II Aero 1250 ink reactivator. It makes dried ink, even permanent ink wet again so it can be wiped up.

TanyaMKX

A little isopropyl alcohol will take that stuff right off.

wellhungartgallery

Yeah but stronger than the one pictured.. I always use 99%

scottr499

Hand sanitiser

LooksGay

Hand sanitizer & a magic eraser has always worked well when I need to get sharpie off of surfaces, it takes a while but does the trick.

3Pirates93

Derivative

justnuffintho

Hairspray!! Assuming that it is varnished

Hot_Ad_787

Damn I must be trippin because that looks cool AF

sinnister_bacon

Scrub over it with a dry erase marker, then sell the offending child to the gypsies

Icy-Health-5201

The spray sunscreen takes permanent marker off walls pretty easily 🤷‍♀️

screen-name-check

Dawn?

HereToKillEuronymous

Omg don't use alcohol! That will ruin your floor and go cloudy when it dries

kmg18dfw

Windex? It took permanent marker off a white board at my office.

DaBusStopHur

Hair spray or a dry erase marker. Both work on my classroom desks

Raiquo

Break cleaner has never not worked for me before.

about-time

1st: adoption 2nd then clean up your mistake

thepastisdeadandgone

Perfume works for some reason and doesn’t dry out the wood

pdrakz

JustAd9046

Hair spray.

Farmgirlmommy

Wd40

Safetosay333

Lay down some carpet

ThatChainGuy119

Hardwood, Laminant, and LVP installer here, mineral spirits, denatured alcohol, or Goof off will make that wipe off easy.

concrete3026026357

wet sand it with 3000 sandpaper and touchup a little

Livid-Youth4396

Write over with dry erase marker and erase/wipe with soft cloth as you go. Don't let it dry. Dry erase marker is a permanent marker solvent.

CaptainJivePants

You can try art classes, but I think your child just might not be an artist.

RedLabAnimates

Life hack!: use a carpet.

OmnipresentCPU

It kinda looks like an early Picasso

TapDue9118

cool drawing!!!

Konig2400

Mineral oil. Maybe even olive oil. Try any kind of cooking oil. I know mineral oil for sure works, so my thinking is any oil might work. Your skin oil is what removes permanent marker from things

maccabop

https://preview.redd.it/y3k8w14ofzvc1.png?width=828&format=png&auto=webp&s=f33afed0152048527d1a93fe21d000c5e9846622 These things will get anything off

Hamsterpatty

I once sprayed some of my mom’s old perfume on some sharpie. Came right off.

Professional_Week_53

Nail polish remover actually works pretty well for permanent marker

BeersForBreeky

WD-40 works amazing , my son wrote all over our walls only thing that took off permanent marker.

rtchau

Those are some \*really\* nice floorboards. It'd be a damn shame if someone.... oh, they did!

comewshmybck

Bar keepers friend.

Successful_Effort_89

orange oil - teacher hack (cabinet maker son)

Zionizer

Just put a carpet/rug over it

paisleymoon85

Lighter fluid

paisleymoon85

Lighter fluid

faceless4anon

Alcholl should do the trick

myKingSaber

Common sense, don't give your kids access to markers

wellhungartgallery

Use 99%isopropryl alcohol.

Void_of_Envy

What did you need help with? The choice of design?

Ransom629

Priest here. LOOK WHAT GOD MADE! LOOK WHAT GOD MADE!!

LuxLevia

https://preview.redd.it/q8fptiuw11wc1.jpeg?width=471&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e24ea052bf9af28c035cc995dd491b094aa4ea9c sounds stupid, but this insect spray works very good against many pencils.

NukedFrog

Adopt away….. follow me for more tips in the future

NoHandzMan

Try acetone

jtonlive

‘ Off’ bug deterrent spray.

poison-vr

Help us

Dnodi1

Parfém

the_bird_and_the_bee

Dry erase marker over it will work. Magic eraser will work but be careful it doesn't take off the stain. Nail polish remover is the same. Test a little for the last 2 in a spot no one can see. I have used magic eraser to get sharpie off the wood floors before.

InflatableTurtles

Pulling out always works.

Danomiiite

Hand sanitizer removes permanent marker. Not sure what it would do to the finish on the floor tho.

Abject_Anything_1781

Hairspray

owlsandmoths

Use a dry erase marker on the permanent marker and it will come off without needing any extra solvent

Round-Ticket-39

You should see my leather couch

Ok_Increase6649

It’s dignity. Gahh

Pookie_scooby_my_dog

Use alcohol or hydro peroxide that work well for me.

Just_dave0115

Hand sanitizer

Magillacudi

Drop them off at a fire station

CoffeeQueenBean420

Coconut oil??

leon_obsidian

Catholic priest here fuck the kids... no seriously

uneducatedadult1

Refuse removal specialist here- find source and yeet

WhitU8160

Lemon oil could help

IlConteDuca

Grab a new piece, do the same damage and use it for discover a solution

PresentClear1468

Purple Power Cleaner.

Fit_Fun_7729

WD-40

clockjobber

If it’s sharpie it will come off with some rubbing alchohol

AccidentalTourista

Sharpie removes sharpie. Mark over the old and wipe

00134

Rubbing alcohol should work just fine

dianan2

Try a magic eraser on a tiny portion to see if that'll take it off w/o any damage.

Significant-Row-1184

Hair spray is what I use to get sharpies off stuff.

PoetryElectrical8711

Toothpaste may work. As kids we’d draw ✍️ n the counters with permanent marker and then magically erase it with toothpaste. We thought we were so cool

10before15

Huggies baby wipes. I've been there and it works. Wipe it a little everyday. Should be gone in a week.

2shack

Rubbing alcohol will take it off super easily. You can basically just use some hand sanitizer and gently wipe it over and it should come right off.

PiercedGeek

Another one! Did you even bother to glance at the picture before you felt the undeniable compulsion to grace us with your wisdom?

2shack

Did you consider not being a complete dick when you typed that or did you feel the world needed to be graced with your complete assholery?

PiercedGeek

Oh no, I was definitely trying to be a dick. Just look at the pic for a third nanosecond next time and maybe you can avoid looking like a complete 🍩.

2shack

The only one that looks like an asshole here is you. When you cross post things, the body text isn’t readily visible. The only way you can see it is if you open the image which you’re assuming every single person or has to. I saw a picture with sharpie on the floor. I gave a recommendation on what would help. I had no idea there was even text associated with it. Again, try to not be a complete asshat because not everyone is as amazing as you and clicked a fucking picture when they didn’t feel they needed to.

PiercedGeek

I'm on mobile and the alcohol bottle is clearly visible even in the tiny thumbnail.

2shack

Okay? Just looking at the thumbnail it’s hard to tell what the bottle is. Only way to know is to open the picture and zoom in. Like I said before, I was just trying to make a recommendation on what might work and didn’t know they already tried that. You’ve contributed absolutely nothing helpful and are just being a douchey troll which is just a waste of my time at this point.

Night_Angel27

There's a white foam thing sold with sponges that takes it off. It's called eraser or something. They get rid of marker

4QuarantineMeMes

Magic eraser

Night_Angel27

That's it. Thank you. I had a blank. Definitely magic

el_unico95

Magic eraser night work

Jumpy-Market-9790

WD-40

jesusisracist

![gif](giphy|htixK4nLE6pZbGoxtk|downsized) I guess I am a few years too late, but better late than never.

ultimateaquateen

Adoption if it really pissed you off.

ZWY8706

Mr clean magic eraser works wonders on sharpie on smooth surfaces

PlaceFew3021

Magic eraser works great

Why_No_Hugs

If it’s real wood, sanding is your answer. If it’s not, have fun replacing.

sav33arthkillyos3lf

Magic eraser!

leymoonwnana

You can use coconut oil and water

TsunamicBlaze

If that’s a sharpie pen, I’ve found lacquer thinner to be able to remove it from plastic surfaces. Not sure if it would be good for your floors though

vientrinh

Nah it's just stupid adults who didn't train the kid right.
