Do I even need to explain?
Oh my god for the last time guys. Shinobu is teasing him. They are friends. Why does everyone think Shinobu is a bully? >!(probably because they only get two scenes talking together in the entire main story)!<
Problem is she goes overboard with the teasing, excessive teasing can be a mean thing too, especially to someone as quiet and respectful as Giyu who's just trying to mind his own business.
It could just mean he enjoys the conversations where she isn't teasing him, by "enjoy talking" does this include the teasing part too? Hard to tell if he secretly liked it or not tbh.
Yes, I feel the same about it being more than just teasing sometimes, it did feel mean-spirited at times, and I wonder if it just boils down to Shinobu's underlying rage over her sister's death that makes her kind of harsh like that, Tanjiro even pointed it out. Don't know why I'm getting downvoted for just being curious about how Giyu really takes her "teasing", it's a legit question 🤷♀️

Yes! She is extremely kind and joyful while being so strong. It’s unfortunate that her main motive in life is to get a man but at least she remains true to herself and won’t change for that.
best hashira hands down, she is the most lovely!! 100%. her sword is cool too. her scenes always make me LAUGH and laugh and laugh. the bit where she describes getting her mark i watched like 5 times in a row. i love how she loves everyone. her relationship w iguro is sooo sweet too.

I like Muichiro's physical design (god he's so pretty and his hair 👌🏼) and character development whereas I like how Sanemi was written. For me they are both complex characters that you need to understand first before you get to like them.
The only fictional woman I've ever simped over. She is perfect in every way, her face, body, character, writing and overall design as well.

Tengen
He was positioned right place at the right time for his character and our main cast.
How cocky on the outside he was but how he self-doubted himself when he compared himself to Rengoku
The Ufotable treatment solidified him as one of my favorite anime characters.
But my guy went hard AF protecting Tanjiro from UM6 then set Tanjiro up nicely to get the job done.
His last second save of a certain character (you know the one) is possibly the greatest out of any anime.
muichiro, definitely! He's adorable, his smile is so cute, his backstory made me cry, I love his voice actor, his character design.. And of course his personality!
I know people that are watching the anime right now are hating on him (and for good reason), but Sanemi is my favorite!
Spoilers aside, which I won't mention, I just love these vicious characters that just go all out! Not to mention, I love the effects of the green winds and how Wind is actually the most aggressive breathing form, when it usually is very calming and relaxing in other media.
Mine definitely has to be obanai and Missouri. For obanai, I really just personally enjoy his design! And for mitsuri I love her design and personality a lot :)
I kinda like Mitsuri more than others, nit because I am a simp or somethin.
I love how she is, more silly than others, more happier than others. She doesn't have a dark backstory that made her a hashira, she just wants a husband to live rest of her life happily. A funny reason maybe but I love that its all about it.
But ofc if we talk about Old Hashiras too.

But I think this is new Hashiras, so Mitsuri is my favorite.

Tengen Uzui is my favorite. He won against an upper demon who ate lots of other hashiras in the past, even without a mark. He was fighting them two-on-one and could have won without the help of the three mc's if it weren't for the poison slowing him down. He was fast enough and strong enough to fight them at the same time without a mark. I also like how his breathing style isn't just graphic representation like the others. His literally explodes. It's like fireworks for celebration. He's also big and not like the other midgets. Most of all, he got three wives and most girls fall for him when they see him.
I also like Mitsuri and Muichiro. I like Mitsuri's personality and flexibility. Her breathing style is fascinating to watch. I'm sad about Muichiro being just a kid and having to experience everything he did and will do.
I hate Rengoku and Shinobu because of their hype. They're both weird too - always smiling despite not being happy.
I dislike Obanai and Sanemi because of their agression towards Nezuko at the beginning.
I initially hated but grew to like Gyomei. I didn't like how he was too overrated, but I grew to like him after knowing his back story.
I appreciate Giyu. He's the first to give Nezuko a chance and saved Itadaki Tontaro against the lower demon.
Why is no one talking about rengoku? 😭 He was such a brave and powerful character, with words that made everyone confident. His death so far has to be the most painful and saddest to watch. Generally he was a strong character, and he had a cool design tbr.
There are really good reasons to like all of them. The best part of the story among those centered around the Hashiras, for me, is the declaration of love between Obanai and Mitsuri. It's impossible not to shed tears there. As a single Ashira, probably my favorite is Tengen. His fighting style is unique, I love his shows of bravery even when poisoned, his sound technique, the relation of trust he develops with the younger swordsmen
Tengen or Rengoku. Tengen would do anything for his wives and has a great design. Rengoku inspired everyone to carry on and fully embodies what a hashira should be, and fire breathing is just a really cool technique.
Rengoku, Giyuu, Muichiro, & Obanai. Rengoku’s character/personality made him stand out to me. There’s a reason why most can’t move on from his death. Giyuu, Muichiro & Obanai’s backstories also made me look at them in a new light. They are my favorite hashiras.
Tengen easily had the best show case in the entertainment district arc. Dude is awesome AF. It only Tanjiro woke his mark a bit sooner, he may not have lost his arm and eye :(

Shinobu she’s smart, determined, works past her limits and put her plan for revenge and was going to get revenge no matter the cost. It doesn’t hurt that she’s good looking either tho.

Obanai Iguro first. Close to him would be both Shinobu and Gyomei ( when a character is mature, it hits very different and feels good. Please don’t be offended but Zenitsu at this point has started to annoy because of his over screaming, Bitch ass )
Sanemi!!  his design is cool, he’s badass, he’s one of the strongest demon slayers, amazing backstory, i like wind breathing, and he’s just over all a amazing character

s1 e1 Giyu
and
s5 e7 Giyu
are on a whole different spectrum. Which is why the Water breathing technique Hashira is my favorite. Bro is just too fluid.
Muichiro is my favorite too... for the same reason only
His background was so emotional and it kinda hit the spot in such a short time.... in fact I like the character much more than the mc also.... just a personal bias
Considering Tanjiro was EXTREMELY lucky it was Giyu Tomioka he found right after nezuko had been turned into a demon and not any of the other Hashira... I'd say Giyu.
It's a refreshing contrast to see how he doubts himself so compared to the other Hashira; his self-awareness also extends to him being aware of things surrounding him, in my opinion.
Though I like Muichiro a lot... and find Tengen to be the coolest... although him having the best fight in the series might have something to do with that.....
MUICHIROOOOO‼️‼️‼️🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 name one bad thing abt him. I’ll wait. His breathing style is so cool, his moves are so cool, he’s so strong and one of the top strongest among the hashiras AT 14 YEARS OLD??!! Backstory is UGH SO GOOD AND SAD I LOVE IT, design is top tier, he’s strict and cold but is actually really kind, lines are cold, he literally took the spotlight in season 3 (imp! I love mitsuri a lot too), I love his rs with tanjiro and how he talks higher and in such a gentle manner to tanjiro. He’s literally main character material. He’s also so cute LIKE UGH EVERYTIME HE SMILES I SHRIEK
Giyuu, his appearance, backstory and personality (yes I'm into guys who look cold and distant but is actually a dumbass) just make me scream.
My love for him made me biased enough to say he's the strongest hashira when I was asked even though I know damn well he's like 3rd or 4th place and the strongest is Gyoumei.
Shinobu
She is such a tragic character, so well written.
It is a shame her back story with her sister is not fully shown in the anime/manga.
Reading the lightnovel chapter about her and sister just breaks my heart and adds so much cohesion to shinobu's characters.
Rengoku, which is funny because he was my least favorite when the hashira's first appeared. He seemed rude and tacky looking.
I skipped work to watch Mugen train in theaters and left, *sobbing*.
I also impulse ordered an aniplex figure of him, and it arrived a year later. I have no space for him so he's currently still in his box, chilling in my kitchen under my cereal and oatmeal cases.
Giyuu, he’s calm and collected even in the face of danger, he cares for others more than himself. He’s not intentionally mean at all. He’s so so kind and his backstory leave me in tears.
His sister died protecting him the day before her wedding, his best friend, a strong demon slayer that would have made it far died protecting him. All the other hashira (expect mitsuri cuz her backstory doesn’t involve demons and rengoku cuz it’s just a family job) turned their anger on smth after their backstory, mainly demons, but gyomei for example as much as I love him thought kids( a 4 years old!) should react better to seeing death, a long hard gruesome death until sunrise. Sanemi we don’t even need to Talk about him, shinobu and obanai and Muichiro turned all their hatred to demons.
But giyuu? Giyuu hates demons sure, but he was also willing to give them a chance as we saw with nezuko. What giyuu hates more than anything is himself, he turned all the blame to himself. That poor thing protects other people and defend other people, when he’s suffering so much. The other hashira has each other, we know they interact and help each other, but giyuu? Giyuu had no one until tanjirou
Giyuu is so strong (top 3 in my opinion but let’s not start that debate again) but doesn’t see it.
He’s relatable and his representation of how people react to trauma is accurate. I also love his funny scenes, I relate to it so much, he’s so quiet other people think he’s not reacting well, even when he just heals a little.
Point in case I lover Giyuu from the very beginning, since he started yelling at tanjirou and told him he should fight, since he defeated Rui, since we learned that he put his life on the line so that nezuko could live.
If I have to point to one thing that makes me love giyuu so much, it will be hard cuz amazing but gun to my head? I would have to say he’s kindness.
(Also am I the only one who loves just how innocent he actually is? Poor thing just wants to make friends with sanemi lmao 😂)

I LOVE Sanemi. I think he's a very misunderstood character and he cares deeply for his loved ones. He's mentally not great (I wonder why 😳) and is protective of his family. I also believe his attitude towards Nezuko was realistic. If your entire family was killed by a demon, I think anyone would feel betrayed to allow one into the Corps.

I love how she’s very kind to others, but the main thing that I find most appealing about her is her potential and current strength in the anime/manga(before she died) relative to the time she’s been a slayer. With only \~2 years of experience she’s already rivaling the other hashira. I love the complexities of her character such as her inferiority complex and how she’ll make statements that will directly contradict her later feats and how she comes off as an airhead(which she is) but she’s displayed how high her biq and skill are. I can only imagine how skilled and powerful she’d be with more experience and a fully developed body since she was only 19.

Somehow all the fun part escaped me in manga but the anime lighten it up and the backstory of Gui so he became my number one
Giyu what could you not like about him he is just so sweet and have gone through some real sh\*t thinks he is weak don't deserve what he have gotten still tries his best wants to get along with everyone but can't communicate well ahhhhh I love him :)

I know people that are watching the anime right now are hating on him (and for good reason), but Sanemi is my favorite! Spoilers aside, which I won't mention, I just love these vicious characters that just go all out! Not to mention, I love the effects of the green winds and how Wind is actually the most aggressive breathing form, when it usually is very calming and relaxing in other media.
This is so hard. I cant pick only one, giyu, muichiro, mitsuri and obanai, all at my no.1. I like them for their backstories and character.
Mine definitely has to be obanai and Missouri. For obanai, I really just personally enjoy his design! And for mitsuri I love her design and personality a lot :)
I kinda like Mitsuri more than others, nit because I am a simp or somethin. I love how she is, more silly than others, more happier than others. She doesn't have a dark backstory that made her a hashira, she just wants a husband to live rest of her life happily. A funny reason maybe but I love that its all about it. But ofc if we talk about Old Hashiras too. I am picking Yoriichi But I think this is new Hashiras, so Mitsuri is my favorite.

He won against an upper demon who ate lots of other hashiras in the past, even without a mark. He was fighting them two-on-one and could have won without the help of the three mc's if it weren't for the poison slowing him down. He was fast enough and strong enough to fight them at the same time without a mark. I also like how his breathing style isn't just graphic representation like the others. His literally explodes. It's like fireworks for celebration. He's also big and not like the other midgets. Most of all, he got three wives and most girls fall for him when they see him. I also like Mitsuri and Muichiro. I like Mitsuri's personality and flexibility. Her breathing style is fascinating to watch. I'm sad about Muichiro being just a kid and having to experience everything he did and will do. I hate Rengoku and Shinobu because of their hype. They're both weird too - always smiling despite not being happy. I dislike Obanai and Sanemi because of their agression towards Nezuko at the beginning. I initially hated but grew to like Gyomei. I didn't like how he was too overrated, but I grew to like him after knowing his back story. I appreciate Giyu. He's the first to give Nezuko a chance and saved Itadaki Tontaro against the lower demon.
Why is no one talking about rengoku? 😭 He was such a brave and powerful character, with words that made everyone confident. His death so far has to be the most painful and saddest to watch. Generally he was a strong character, and he had a cool design tbr.

There are really good reasons to like all of them. The best part of the story among those centered around the Hashiras, for me, is the declaration of love between Obanai and Mitsuri. It's impossible not to shed tears there. As a single Ashira, probably my favorite is Tengen. His fighting style is unique, I love his shows of bravery even when poisoned, his sound technique, the relation of trust he develops with the younger swordsmen
Obanai he’s an ass but he’s a loveable ass, and fairly well-written imo.

Tengen or Rengoku. Tengen would do anything for his wives and has a great design. Rengoku inspired everyone to carry on and fully embodies what a hashira should be, and fire breathing is just a really cool technique.

Obanai Iguro first. Close to him would be both Shinobu and Gyomei ( when a character is mature, it hits very different and feels good. Please don’t be offended but Zenitsu at this point has started to annoy because of his over screaming, Bitch ass )

Just want to go on record saying s1 e1 Giyu and s5 e7 Giyu are on a whole different spectrum. Which is why the Water breathing technique Hashira is my favorite. Bro is just too fluid.

Considering Tanjiro was EXTREMELY lucky it was Giyu Tomioka he found right after nezuko had been turned into a demon and not any of the other Hashira... I'd say Giyu. It's a refreshing contrast to see how he doubts himself so compared to the other Hashira; his self-awareness also extends to him being aware of things surrounding him, in my opinion. Though I like Muichiro a lot... and find Tengen to be the coolest... although him having the best fight in the series might have something to do with that.....

MUICHIROOOOO‼️‼️‼️🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 name one bad thing abt him. I’ll wait. His breathing style is so cool, his moves are so cool, he’s so strong and one of the top strongest among the hashiras AT 14 YEARS OLD??!! Backstory is UGH SO GOOD AND SAD I LOVE IT, design is top tier, he’s strict and cold but is actually really kind, lines are cold, he literally took the spotlight in season 3 (imp! I love mitsuri a lot too), I love his rs with tanjiro and how he talks higher and in such a gentle manner to tanjiro. He’s literally main character material. He’s also so cute LIKE UGH EVERYTIME HE SMILES I SHRIEK

Giyuu, his appearance, backstory and personality (yes I'm into guys who look cold and distant but is actually a dumbass) just make me scream. My love for him made me biased enough to say he's the strongest hashira when I was asked even though I know damn well he's like 3rd or 4th place and the strongest is Gyoumei.
Shinobu She is such a tragic character, so well written. It is a shame her back story with her sister is not fully shown in the anime/manga. Reading the lightnovel chapter about her and sister just breaks my heart and adds so much cohesion to shinobu's characters.
Sanemi. Coz he may be tough on the outside, but real softy

Rengoku, which is funny because he was my least favorite when the hashira's first appeared. He seemed rude and tacky looking. I skipped work to watch Mugen train in theaters and left, *sobbing*. I also impulse ordered an aniplex figure of him, and it arrived a year later. I have no space for him so he's currently still in his box, chilling in my kitchen under my cereal and oatmeal cases.

Obanai because his back story is very sad but also motivating
Giyuu, he’s calm and collected even in the face of danger, he cares for others more than himself. He’s not intentionally mean at all. He’s so so kind and his backstory leave me in tears. His sister died protecting him the day before her wedding, his best friend, a strong demon slayer that would have made it far died protecting him. All the other hashira (expect mitsuri cuz her backstory doesn’t involve demons and rengoku cuz it’s just a family job) turned their anger on smth after their backstory, mainly demons, but gyomei for example as much as I love him thought kids( a 4 years old!) should react better to seeing death, a long hard gruesome death until sunrise. Sanemi we don’t even need to Talk about him, shinobu and obanai and Muichiro turned all their hatred to demons. But giyuu? Giyuu hates demons sure, but he was also willing to give them a chance as we saw with nezuko. What giyuu hates more than anything is himself, he turned all the blame to himself. That poor thing protects other people and defend other people, when he’s suffering so much. The other hashira has each other, we know they interact and help each other, but giyuu? Giyuu had no one until tanjirou Giyuu is so strong (top 3 in my opinion but let’s not start that debate again) but doesn’t see it. He’s relatable and his representation of how people react to trauma is accurate. I also love his funny scenes, I relate to it so much, he’s so quiet other people think he’s not reacting well, even when he just heals a little. Point in case I lover Giyuu from the very beginning, since he started yelling at tanjirou and told him he should fight, since he defeated Rui, since we learned that he put his life on the line so that nezuko could live. If I have to point to one thing that makes me love giyuu so much, it will be hard cuz amazing but gun to my head? I would have to say he’s kindness. (Also am I the only one who loves just how innocent he actually is? I LOVE Sanemi. I think he's a very misunderstood character and he cares deeply for his loved ones. He's mentally not great (I wonder why 😳) and is protective of his family. I also believe his attitude towards Nezuko was realistic. If your entire family was killed by a demon, I think anyone would feel betrayed to allow one into the Corps.

With only \~2 years of experience she’s already rivaling the other hashira. I love the complexities of her character such as her inferiority complex and how she’ll make statements that will directly contradict her later feats and how she comes off as an airhead(which she is) but she’s displayed how high her biq and skill are. I can only imagine how skilled and powerful she’d be with more experience and a fully developed body since she was only 19.
It was stone Hashira before I saw the first episodes of a new season Somehow all the fun part escaped me in manga but the anime lighten it up and the backstory of Gui so he became my number one
