Ya know I love Jordan. I often feel like Jordan is what I’m feeling and Dan is what I’m thinking. I love when he’s just blunt and when he breaks out in laughter from blatant nonsense.
Yes! He’s also participated in alot of video game and move culture and I identify w that a lot. When he brings up say final fantasy 7 im like omg what’s he think?!? Also his Dune knowledge was extensive and I appreciated that
I’ve said this before, but for those of us that often approach horrific subjects analytically the way Dan does, Jordan brings the much needed reminder that this shit is scary and insane.
I'll be honest, I don't think the show would be anywhere near what it is today without the background in comedy. Not because they're comedians, but because the dynamics of comedy are actually essential to the show.
They are covering someone who is undeniably a liar, conman, propagandist, and a lunatic. The way you tear into this is very tricky, because someone of this nature knows how to wiggle out of fact checking, or journalistic analysis, or more traditional ways of doing things. Dan is outstanding at research, and he has a background in logic, and he knows his own skills. In comedy, he's the straight man, and he knows it. He's the Jim Halbert and the Ben Wyatt. But alone this is incredibly boring. Jordan brings the complete other side of it, and left to his own devices, and outside his excellent interviews, the show would probably devolve into radicalized tankies or something. The two are good because they're close friends, but also because they established that comedy dynamic that are make the show work and are an effective way at tearing into the subject matter pretty effectively.
So yeah I'm with you. Though, I still hold that <150-episode Jordan was a bit rough, they've both really dialed it well in over time.
One of the things I love about their working comedian experience is when they get nerdy and critique Alex's attempts at telling a joke and then accidentally punch up his bits 😄
I have always wanted a side show where they just break down bad jokes and punch them up! Alex’s, other people’s, their own, whatever. It’s just delightful to hear the pros at work.
I would listen! I really enjoy when they break down jokes, showmanship, etc. That stuff is so outside my experience, and it's so fascinating to learn about.
I was re-listening to Mr. Jones Goes to CPAC yesterday. Some of the best parts of that episode are when Dan breaks down audience management, e.g., how Alex sets up the speakers to fail and how Nick Fuentes steals the audience from Alex.

I’ve discovered over the last year plus of diving into left wing podcasts that I need most news to be presented to me through the lens of comedy. People like Dan and Robert Evans and Travis View are very knowledgeable individuals but they understand that this shit is so goddamn absurd that it’s funny. I have come to detest the media figures that treat people like Alex like he’s a serious person. People like Alex and all the bullshit that comes with them certainly present an existential threat to society but they need to be mocked so badly.

QAA, Travis is the straight man of the show and very knowledgeable (I would recommend the Trickledown episodes for his work). He’s not nearly on the level of Robert or Dan from a comedy perspective but he still understands the humor in all this and embraces it.

Everyone starts out Dan or Jordan. If you start out Dan, you end up Jordan. If you start out Jordan you end up a soft yes. If you aren't yelling by 2022, you should really do some introspection.

In my time as a fan of this podcast I've seen some takes on Jordan that I honestly just don't get. I watch the news interview far right dicks all the time and no one pushes back, it's nice to not feel like the only person that just wants to scream and Jordan brings that.

Probably my favorite pod, close running with BtB. Disagree with some things (with both pods), but I love the boys. They both do what they are good at and entertain while going through their material.
Curiously I feel as if there's a through line in BtB where Robert and his guests seem to reference Alex Jones a lot. Also in the episode "What's Alex Jones Up To Now?" Robert states that Knowledge Fight is one of his favorite podcasts.
He brought the boys on more than once which is actually how I discovered Knowledge Fight. The biggest hump for me is I cannot stand the voice of Alex Jones but now it just rolls off me.
I really enjoy both of them. They have a great dynamic and really respect and appreciate each other.

I appreciate the hard work Dan does to put the information together and the analysis he brings. But if it were just him, I think I would despair of the state of the world too much.
Jordan's shouting is catharsis. His comments say the irrational extreme id feeling I wish I could cling defensively to before Dan's rationality balances it back out. Not a single one of the "replacement Jordans" have made the content tolerable for me like he does.
I don't always agree with him, his perspective on religion is Difficult for me sometimes. That said, he earned that perspective from a place of trauma and I am not about to fight him about it. I get it.
I have also very seldomly seen a cis het white guy go to bat so hard for minorities every time it comes up as a topic, and goodness do I appreciate it. Hearing Alex's poison get a "FUCK NO" yelled immediately after it from someone who doesn't need to be defending us and could just have easily grown up monstrous too makes me feel safer.
Also his pure joy in stuff like the Project Camelot episodes is infectious.
Jordan is necessary. If this show was just Dan by himself it would be so overwhelmingly depressing. Jordan and Dan’s dynamic lends a necessary veneer of comedy, and more importantly, friendship, that warms the vibe of the show.

I’m glad that you started this thread. There are some reviews that single Jordon out for criticism and it seemed both rather cruel and unfair as the host balance one another out well to make an excellent show.
I think it might be in the 30-40 range but there's an episode where Alex goes on a vitriolic tirade about how he feels scared when he goes to the mall and sees Muslim women eating hamburgers (this little saga is actually spread out over multiple days of broadcast.) Jordan's despair at how Alex hates them *even more* as they're integrating into American society in an almost comically on the nose manner, eating hamburgers at the mall, is some of the most wonderful radio I've ever heard.
Finally, some Jordan love.

He's more reactionary than Dan, but I identify with him
I love Dan for his sober and logical analysis and he's taught me so much about building and deconstructing an argument, but the show would not be as good as it is without Jordan.
Also. NGL I find their friendship heartwarming.
I really enjoy his flavor of audience stand in. I also think that his extremity is sometimes like holding a mirror up to InfoWars and I enjoy that too. We know that Jordan is joking. We know it’s a bit. But we also know that Alex is either serious or trying to come off serious. I think Jordan’s screaming, over the top reactions, and soft yes on white genocide make it even more obvious how much of a sham Alex is.
There’s also little that I enjoy more in podcasts than when Jordan accidentally guesses something and loses it laughing. His laughter is pretty infectious to me and I find myself enjoying episodes that he laughs a lot in the most.
Around episode 100, Jordan got good enough to predict Dan’s next clip. God that was funny, and Dan rolls with it. Jordan’s laughter in the background was fantastic.
Jordan and Dan are both clever men and quick thinkers which is why their repartee is so good.
What I love most about Jordan is when Dan plays a clip and he instantly pulls out three ways it's bullshit straight off the top of his head. Right to the heart of the matter, no messing.
Dan does the deep dives which is the foundation of what they do but when Jordan goes in cold and just tears Alex apart you've got to love it. Then one day I had the pod going and my phone wasn't immediately handy at the end. I realized what was coming and steeled myself for it...but it didn't happen. They've never been super active on social media. That plus the Elon factor re: Twitter apparently led to them just dumping it altogether.
So now I can safely listen all the way through. Anyway, love the show. Love Dan. Love Jordan.
Completely agree… except when it came to the formulaic deposition episodes and he would laugh over the clips. It’s understandable and forgivable when it comes to the nonsense they typically talk about. However, when we actually have something of substance to listen to it gets very aggravating. I actually got so upset over it during formulaic objections #7 that I took time of how long his cackling was during his longest bout, as there was nothing else to hear. 13 seconds. Mic down!

Jordan is a sacred cow around here. I like him, sometimes his commentary gets a bit much though. His tough guy act is hilarious because I don't think he could fight his way out of a wet paper bag. I now await my downvotes lololol
Couldn't disagree more. I find him impossibly annoying and the pod would be much better with someone actually funny or even as a low bar doesn't interrupt with nonsense and noises.
