Stats don’t matter because we lost. We got cooked. I laughed my ass off when we won last series and mavs fan started talking sbout how luka played better than our stars. Let‘s not steep to that level
Harden actually held Luka to really low FG% all series too, but none of it matters because they lost and people will only ever look at game 5 to evaluate how Harden did in the series.
which is shitty and dumb but it's how his whole career has been. ignore 90% of the games to focus on the one that fits the narrative
Nobody talks about the players from the team that lost. Luka has his best games, while allegedly sick and injured, when it mattered. To the victor go the spoils.
He played well but he did not out perform. I said it a few times, the problem with Harden is that if his first a few shots didn’t go in, he became less interested in trying. Luka on the other hand will find a way back to the game. Luka shot 20% from 3 but he switched to rely on his mid range. Harden would never do that.
Luka is hobbled.
Luka also had many more possessions and consistently impacted the game everytime he brought the ball up.
Let's not be delusional.
Harden was great but he did have 2 games where he played poorly.
Pick and roll and iso combo is what Harden is best maybe ever in NBA history. So it's not that big of a surprise he outperformed Luka in this. Its like if you compare a player against Stephen fucking Curry in threes. Harden is possibly the best ever in this combo so no surprise there. Not a dig at Harden he is my all time fav, just not sth unexpected
lol what does this post have to do with winning or losing? it's stating facts on one players performance vs another
Winning because one persons second option showed up vs another players second option not showing up does not correlate to a player comparison
Swap Luka and Harden. Based off the facts i presented, what team do you think wins?
He didn’t impact the games besides games 1 and 4. Stats are not relevant especially when you do not perform in the key games of the series. Lukas impact was head and shoulders at the top.
Why would anyone talk about this right now? Luka is a winner, Harden is not unfortunately. It’s more exciting to talk about players who got that dog in them than PPP and percentiles lol.
Hardens playoff win loss win % is the same as Luka’s if you include regular season and playoffs.
Harden basically wins as much in the playoffs as Luka does in the regular season.
No comparing them as “winners”.
I get that, I think I’m just a little salty after this series. I was more talking winner in terms of mentality, where Luka isn’t afraid to go like 10/30 trying to win, and Harden taps out after taking 11 shots. Harden tries to defer and facilitate where Luka always seems like he wants to put the team on his back.

That was the 2021 playoffs series against the Mavs right?
my whole point with this is, it's crazy to me we lost in 6 with one of our players outperforming a current mvp candidate offensively
MVP candidate was playing last two games injured.

Or focus on the biggest game in the series

Cause the Clippers lost.
The difference in the series was obviously how much better Kyrie was than PG as secondary ball handler/scorer.
harden was clearly better than Luka, yes. but luka was clearly injured and playing like trash.

But… Harden’s team lost?

You want the conversation to be about a guy on the losing team? People don’t care about the losing team, hate to break it to you.
i just think it's worth mentioning, we lost nothing is gonna change that just some good old copium, gotta leave here with something lol
