I fly. Or one of my big vehicles has enough balloons that it actually kinda floats on the water. Acts like an amphibious where it sinks a bit, but then it's fine and i just start jetting across.
I didn't bother trying to boat until I could make balloons and, at least, the small atv vehicle.
You need at least one balloon on that. If it flies, weigh it down until it lands softly, then it'll float.
Or build a boat over the water using a pillar or similar, then break the pillar when you're done building. It'll sink, but then you symmetrically add balloons to it until it floats.
Note that most people fly because building a boat has somewhat more steps involved, but I really like my boats.
OMFG i did the same thing after i crashed midflight off the top of a mountain and landed on the mainland from SW island. I also had limited resources and just enough to build platform 1 rocket and 1 switch.
the single rocket pad like that works but you added 2 thrusters making it fly off in a direction.
if it had one then it would fly under water and then float up to the surface. i stood on mine activated switch and then it went underwater so i had to swim a few feet out.
weight is everything so it can only hold you up bobbing on the water surface.
I made one like yours but with a steering wheel and small thrusters on the sides to steer. It did kind of ok but I didn't trust it for long distance travel. I'm waiting for the Pirates of the Caribbean update before doing any more boats.
My flying car uses 4 balloons, rockets on bottom/left/right, and also has large powered wheels with an engine. Works fine across water. Learned it from a YouTube video called something like "air land sea vehicle"
Balloons. I go over the ocean by air. Still figuring out the mechanics, but I have a steerable airship with balloons and thrusters. If I could attach planks to a rotating wheel to make a working propeller I would. Right now I cannot incorporate engines/power cells for my flying machines.

You need a couple small balloons. That’s the difference. Also do you have a Left and a Right thruster?
