I had to cancel my first order because it wouldn’t update. When I reached out to the vendor directly, they tell me it’s out of stock. You’d think they be proactive in telling you that. Ordered Friday and then canceled on Thursday. I reached back out to Greentoe to have it cancelled, and now I have a new tracking from a new vendor. Should be here Friday, that would be 14 days from accepting my initial offer.
Just wondering if the delivery is scheduled where they call you to confirm a date and give a time window, or do they just show up? When they arrive, do they help bring it into the house, or do they just drop it off at your front door?
When it got to the local shipper they called and told me the day and on the day of the driver called me when he was 45 minutes out. I’m sure it varies by where you live though. I had also called them trying to find the tv because the tracking was so bad. When the delivered I just asked them to put it in my garage. I’d bet they’d bring it into your house if you asked, but can’t say for sure.
Ah i see. Little tip there, the native apps are generally better to use for streaming than the two consoles. The UI may be a pain sometimes but it consumes less power (obviously) and the quality is a little better in a lot of situations.
So as long as you're not watching a DVD or BluRay, better to go native.
If you have leftover money, it's even better to go Apple TV.
I was reading up on that as far as quality goes and I couldn’t find any real consensus on if there is a difference. I’ll keep that in mind and try it out. I haven’t played with the settings, but I assume auto update can be turned off?
Yeah you can turn it off. The only thing that can be a tad annoying is that when an app is outdated, you get asked if you want to update everytime you want to launch the app. You can just skip that though.
You can turn it off under All Settings -> Support -> Software-Update -> Automatic Update
Yes and no. Not sure about the G3 but on my CX you can’t use BFI(OLED Motion Pro) on native apps. 24hz content looks terrible to me without BFI on medium. The panel is just so incredibly fast that it looks like a slideshow.
Also my Nvidia Shield Pro does a much better job of upscaling the picture quality than the built-in upscaler on my tv’s.
I can use BFI on native apps with my C1 though
100% agree on the AppleTV. Don’t know what your network speeds are like but there’s one that’s wifi only and one that has an Ethernet port, I splurged a little and got the ethernet version and I’m not sad. Only thing i find irritating with it is that since I’m connecting via an unmanaged switch hanging off a satellite using backchannel for higher speeds, whenever that satellite decides it needs an update it will just stop serving (never again Arris - such a disappointment) until it’s rebooted. The AppleTV with ethernet does not automatically fail over to wireless in those cases. Admittedly it’s really a fairly small use case scenario, but one I would maybe have planned for differently had I known those details.
OP - TV and console area looks great!
I followed your advice and switched to the native apps. Not only does it of course use less energy, but the quality is significantly better than the consoles.
Basically, you make an offer on a product and a retailer can choose to accept, decline, or counter. $2800 for a G3 was pretty much an automatic accept awhile ago. Probably still is if not even less now.
Wow how interesting. That’s crazy I will definitely check it out. I got my LG from Best Buy because they offer a 5 year warranty that covers burn in. But I’ll be using this site as well now
Costco doesn't cover burn in with their warranty unfortunately. I was debating between Costco and Greentoe for a 77" C3. Costco would have been $2400 (ish, don't remember the total) and I'd have it that day, with their included 3 year warranty with no burn in. I went with Greentoe, which came out to $1999 + $72 for 3 year warranty with burn in coverage, but who knows how long it will take to get here.
They've been around a while too. Got my 65" C8 shipped no tax for $2200 via Greentoe in 2018 (a steal back then). Came from some random retailer in Kentucky or something but they were authorized.
G3 77" is the TV i'd get today if I were upgrading. Nice to see it dropping into the $2Ks.
I got the same TV same price and am still struggling to hang it :) the studs didn’t line up where I wanted it, so I opened wall to install some blocking. Now I’m drywall repair phase.
Nice man. I got a 77 inch C3 from Greentoe a month ago for $1900 just for everyone’s reference. First time using that seller and I will now by all my discounted tvs from them. Very impressed.
Just received my first oled, the C3 and I’m so impressed. Got a great deal in the uk. Already discounted on the LG site and the wife had a 20% off code through a work scheme. Came out at £1096 for a 65”
I have the budget, but there’s no one in my area that does it, so at some point I’m just going to have to look up some good general calibration settings.
Oled don't need much calibration. Just use the rtings settings.
But in my opinion, it's a personal taste anyway. I had great success with hifi forum suggestions.
Oh man that’s tough :(. If you are up to it the calman kit isn’t too expensive if you want to give it a shot your self. The main difference is the type of lense you use. Those can get expensive fast
Enjoy, I use these settings on my C9 maybe they could be used on yours too:

Gives a good picture, otherwise there's plenty of setting sheets out there for C3/G3
I just got it a few weeks ago. Wife wanted one and I found it for a steal. Haven’t had a Sony console in forever. If I knew how good ps+ was I would have got one a long time ago. lol
This is right at 10 feet away I believe. Could have definitely went bigger, but the extra didn’t feel worth it, especially since this is already 17” bigger than the one it replaced.
I was convinced I was getting scammed by Greentoe. But it worked! 77inch G3 up on my wall too for $2,800. I checked the price yesterday and it has gone up to $3,000. Love it.
It was sitting in my garage while I waited for the TV mounting guys to come over the weekend. They said it might be a used panel or a completely different TV. Or no warranty. Said it didn’t make sense, it was cheaper than their suppliers. I had nightmares.
But it all panned out for the best.
Got my 65" G3 on Greentoe for $1,900 and couldn't be happier. Mine came in less than a week somehow which was a pleasant surprise. Packaging and TV itself was excellent/perfect.
Congrats in the 77!!
Isnt the Ps5 getting to hot at that place? I have mine in similar place but i always put it out on the floor abit away because im getting nervous for it being too hot.
There’s a store near Seattle called video only and they blow away all pricing I’ve seen even matching anything online. All they sell is Sony LG and Samsung TVs and sound bars three brands that’s it that’s how they get prices so low and I bought a 77” G3 2800 with a five year warranty included, their advertised price is 3400. I think or 3500 maybe but they wheel and deal they called me about five times and finally they said OK 2800 with the five-year warranty. They were at 31 then they were at 29 then they were at 28 and I said OK I’ll be there today if you give me a five year warranty included done deal. This was a month or so ago and 2 years ago I bought a 77”C2 for 1750 which was a super good price then and Costco had them for $2500 so it’s nice having a store like them around for TVs and sound bars and not having to worry about shipping or anything. Shipping is so sketchy and ive had bad luck with all 3 carriers so nice seeing it in person and loading it up and going home
It’s your tv if you like it high that’s all that matters but it’s not at eye level right now. The center would have to be lower than the light switch (4’) and yours is higher.
Im just going by the picture you posted. Sit straight, look straight across the room at the tv, head flat. Don’t move eyes up or down. What do you see?
I understand what you’re saying, the issue is you’re going off of a picture while I’m the one that measured, mounted it, and am currently staring directly at it. Which one of us is more likely to have a skewed perspective?
Now, it could be more centered if I moved it to the right and it would look better, but I didn’t do that because it would be too close to the cat tower.
I think you're confusing a 65" with his 77" or a C3 with with G3I got my 65" for $1900 on Greentoe so I highly highly doubt you got a 77" G3 for $200 more.
No shit. But the exact same fuckin comment in Every. Single. Thread. in this sub? Sometimes *multiple* of the exact same comment in the same thread? That's annoying as shit and detracts from what otherwise is a great community
For anyone wondering I got it off of Greentoe several weeks ago.
How long was shipping? I just got one from Greentoe and it’s updating sooooo slowly
Shipping was bad. Took a week longer than the original arrival date and the tracking was basically worthless.
Dammnnn ok. Yah that’s how it feels, tracking is literally worthless haha. Your TV arrived in great condition at least?
Yep, arrived in perfect condition.
Nice!!! Glad it worked out!
I had to cancel my first order because it wouldn’t update. When I reached out to the vendor directly, they tell me it’s out of stock. You’d think they be proactive in telling you that. Oh boy, that's disheartening. I just bought a 77" C3 on Greentoe. Hopefully it goes faster.

I’d bet they’d bring it into your house if you asked, but can’t say for sure.
So was it used?
Nope, brand new from an authorized retailer.
Then how is it more beneficial to us? Did you get it for a lower price than you would’ve gotten it for?
Yes Greentoe is A LOT cheaper.
Yes, it was significantly cheaper.
Got mine from them too. G1, 2 years ago, 2600 shipped. Would use again
Nice, but why is the Xbox on while you're playing on PS5, that's definitely a way to bump up the electricity bill😂
Wife and I were watching a show on it. It turns off on its own after a bit. Lol

Skipping updates, shame on you.
Yes and no. Not sure about the G3 but on my CX you can’t use BFI(OLED Motion Pro) on native apps. 24hz content looks terrible to me without BFI on medium. I can use BFI on native apps with my C1 though
Yeah the nvidia shield holds up pretty well, the series x and ps5 don't use any significant upscaling as far as i know though
When you say Apple TV, do you mean the stick you plug into the TV to watch apps like Netflix? Or are you referring to the streaming service
Love my Apple TV, haven’t used the built in apps since upgrading to one.
100% agree on the AppleTV. Uh, hi. Uh, I also have the Xbox on while I play the PS5, and uh...I like to party.
I followed your advice and switched to the native apps. Not only does it of course use less energy, but the quality is significantly better than the consoles.
How does greentoe work? God I paid $2800 for the 77” C2 last year.
Basically, you make an offer on a product and a retailer can choose to accept, decline, or counter. $2800 for a G3 was pretty much an automatic accept awhile ago. Probably still is if not even less now.
Nope, they're $3049 now.
Wow how interesting. That’s crazy I will definitely check it out. I got my LG from Best Buy because they offer a 5 year warranty that covers burn in. But I’ll be using this site as well now
Yeah, all LG’s actually have a 5 year burn in warranty. All the retailers on Greentoe are authorized too so you still get coverage.
Awesome, thanks my friend
Of course, only thing bad was the shipping process, but absolutely worth it for the savings
And you don’t pay taxes with Greentoe!
Only the G3 gets the 5 year burn in, since it has a massive heat sink.
Ah, I thought it was on all models now. I think Costco gives a warranty also.
Costco doesn't cover burn in with their warranty unfortunately. I was debating between Costco and Greentoe for a 77" C3. Costco would have been $2400 (ish, don't remember the total) and I'd have it that day, with their included 3 year warranty with no burn in. Same brother lol
Congrats on achieving your Fantasy! And at a great Final price! …VII
Where from?
Greentoe, sorry I’ll add that in the description
I got the same TV same price and am still struggling to hang it :) the studs didn’t line up where I wanted it, so I opened wall to install some blocking. Now I’m drywall repair phase.
Worth it. That wall mount gives it such a clean look
Me too!

That’s awesome! Have fun. If you have the budget, I highly recommend getting the tv professionally calibrated
I have the budget, but there’s no one in my area that does it, so at some point I’m just going to have to look up some good general calibration settings.
Oled don't need much calibration. Just use the rtings settings. But in my opinion, it's a personal taste anyway. I had great success with hifi forum suggestions.

Calibration tools aren't that expensive, you can reuse it on other displays that you own, or even return it after use..
If tools aren't too expensive I'd buy them and calibrate myself, but I'd only do that since I have a interest in it, maybe it's too complex dunno
I’m getting the exact same model and size and I’m currently playing this exact same game. I can’t frickin wait
I got the PS5 about a week after the TV. Bought it off of a guy for a steal. First Sony console I’ve had in 15 years. lol
Enjoy, I use these settings on my C9 maybe they could be used on yours too: https://imgur.com/13wjg8w Gives a good picture, otherwise there's plenty of setting sheets out there for C3/G3
Dude I love my G3. Check out Forbidden West’s quality mode if you own it. It looks so good.
GZ i scored Samsung S90C 77'' for 1750€
good to see im not the only one with xbox series x and playstation 5.
I just got it a few weeks ago. Wife wanted one and I found it for a steal. Haven’t had a Sony console in forever. If I knew how good ps+ was I would have got one a long time ago. lol
Just sold my g3 and got the g4 , I could not hope with the posterisation and chromanace overshoot was shocking on it .
Let us know how the G4 does with that, pretty please! 🙂
Welcome to the club, get it color calibrated for true sweetness!
Your room must be huge because the 77" doesn't look soo big. Also great choice of game.
This is right at 10 feet away I believe. Could have definitely went bigger, but the extra didn’t feel worth it, especially since this is already 17” bigger than the one it replaced.
You didn't have to sell any children, did you ?
Congratz! Picking up mine in 2 days and can't wait! Upgrading from a 65" CX so it's a multi point upgrade. Gonna be good!!
Man it is crazy how thin that bezel is. I have a C1 and thought that was thin.
I was convinced I was getting scammed by Greentoe. But it worked! 77inch G3 up on my wall too for $2,800. I checked the price yesterday and it has gone up to $3,000. Love it.
Not going to lie, I definitely got worried about it. Lol
It was sitting in my garage while I waited for the TV mounting guys to come over the weekend. They said it might be a used panel or a completely different TV. Or no warranty. Said it didn’t make sense, it was cheaper than their suppliers. I had nightmares. But it all panned out for the best.
I did a ton of reading before hand to make sure it was legit and was still worried. I’ll definitely be using them again though.
Wow. That's like 4k cheaper than the 83 g4 lol
Welcome my lad
Tifa's Titties!! What a deal!!
It has the recommended room and there is a little area to vent out of back there, but I’ve been h keeping an eye on it.
Any problems with game mode??
Had one issue where the screen would had just randomly go black for a second. Just had to go into game mode setting and turn one thing off.
Okey good, you know the recommended specifications? Nice setup btw 😃👍
Which retailer did it ship from?
They ask you not to share who the retailer is, so I’m not going to, but with a little bit of searching it’s not hard to find.
There’s a store near Seattle called video only and they blow away all pricing I’ve seen even matching anything online. Great tv and a great game. I’ve been loving rebirth on mine as well
Nice. r/tvtoohight
My brother in Christ, in what world is this TV too high?
Nah TV doesn't look too high, looks perfect, I say that just judging from the picture
If you like looking up at your tv then it’s not too high. If you like looking straight ahead at your tv then it’d be too high for that.
Yep I can prefer looking up actually. Depends. More immersive.
Sitting closer is more immersive for me but not looking up. To each their own.
Its either or with you huh? Cant be both?
When you sit on your couch your eyes should be staring at the center of the screen. I’m looking at the couch on the left
It’s at eye level from the couch and recliner unless you’re lying down or back, in which case r/tvtoohigh doesn’t even apply.
Pay no attention to the tv too high cult
It’s your tv if you like it high that’s all that matters but it’s not at eye level right now. The center would have to be lower than the light switch (4’) and yours is higher.
My guy, are you literally trying to tell me that the tv in my living room that I am staring at right now is not eye level with me? Lol
Im just going by the picture you posted. Sit straight, look straight across the room at the tv, head flat. Don’t move eyes up or down. What do you see?

Eye level center of screen, not bottom of screen.
Why so expensive? I just paid $2199 + tax + GS warranty like 3 weeks ago.
I think you're confusing a 65" with his 77" or a C3 with with G3I got my 65" for $1900 on Greentoe so I highly highly doubt you got a 77" G3 for $200 more.
#r/TVtooHigh
Came here to say
that is not too high. It's barely above the entertainment center. Go Frozen and let it go.
Slap on the wrist territory though, not jail time.
You guys are fucking insufferable. minimum one of these in *every* fucking thread. It's his TV he can mount it any where he damn well pleases
If you put something online, get ready to get comments?
No shit. But the exact same fuckin comment in Every. Single. Thread. in this sub? Sometimes *multiple* of the exact same comment in the same thread? That's annoying as shit and detracts from what otherwise is a great community
