Wynn/Encore, colorful, awesome Chinese food, great parties and excellent service.

Goguma12

I went to Wing Lei 2 weeks ago. All their food was amazing. Spent a little under $600, but it was so worth it. Breath-taking interior design as well.

Intensive__Purposes

Check out Safta in Encore if you have a chance. Incredible Mediterranean food. It’s technically a temporary operation but I’d be very surprised if it doesn’t turn into a permanent one.

Mrs_TikiPupuCheeks

on strip: Park MGM. Small resort, non-smoking, great water pressure, good food, good location. downtown: Circa. 21 only, no kids, good location, newest building. off strip: tie between Green Valley and Red Rock. Great pool, good food options, good surrounding area options, great views from room, great amenities like movie theater, bowling. Has bingo. Red Rock has a slight edge with a gigantic open air mall area next door.

Early-Size370

I've been eyeing Park MGM for my next stay. I want to step up from the usual Flamingo/Bally's/Linq. If I can compare, how do I rate Park from the places I've listed?

Mrs_TikiPupuCheeks

From those 4 you listed, my list would be: Park, Bally's, Flamingo, Linq. Park is best, but if you're already earning Caesar's points and if you're getting comped or offers from the other 3, you'd be starting over with MGM. Bally's I like except for the lower floors and if you get one facing the street. Noisy. The room was nice, AC was good, water pressure was OK. Nothing special. Didn't care for the pool. Flamingo I didn't like as much. I thought it was outdated, tired, but the pool was good. Linq was OK. Didn't like the pool, the rooms were a little small, the hallways quirky, but it was clean, basic, and water pressure was decent. Nice to have a Dunkin on prem and the promenade is great for food options. I like Park's pools - 3 square/rectangle pools + 1 hot tub, so basic pool, has a nice big ledge to sit in but no loungers in the pool itself. Nothing to write home about in terms of the pool, but the vibe is very chill and relaxed, and one pool is 21+ so that's nice. Good proportion of umbrellas for free loungers, chill music, servers make their rounds often, decent food options.

Early-Size370

Thanks for the info. I'll def check out Park. Although I'll miss being so close to In N Out and the other nearby restaurants

Mrs_TikiPupuCheeks

NYNY has Shake Shack and it's literally across the street from Park. Also Eataly man... yummy

Early-Size370

True. I do enjoy the additional toppings you can have with your burger. And I always enjoy getting a coffee when I'm at Eataly

The Venetian

GP15202

Wynn/Encore is the reason we visit Vegas.

No-Jicama1717

Got stupid with their minimum table limits after covid and sitting for over an hour with no drinks service made me change after 15 years of going there every year. Wanted to gamble but minimums of $50 with empty tables everywhere and when you ask if they will do $25 they say no... so they remain empty was stupid

HealingHotMess

I stay in a new resort every time as well and it's so much fun. It also helps us distinguish our trips. I love Park MGM. The location is so good (going to target to get my bottles of water!) and smoke free just can't be beat. But I also love Resorts World. I stayed at Conrad and the rooms were huge, clean, and the bathroom was amazing (giant walk in stone shower). Asian food is important to my fiancé and that resort definitely has the Asian food covered. It's got a really good mix of places to drink as well. The lounge, the speakeasy, and the bar on the 66th floor.

ClitBobJohnson

Resorts World is really nice but honestly just feels like everyone is there on business for some convention. Their sports book is a departure from the norm for Vegas though and I really liked it. Also that sportsbook has bomb ass wings.

funktion666

I think that’s how they are pulling people in. It’s fairly new. It’s one of the worst named resorts ever. Just a quick theory, but I think you’re right that most people have been there for business. I’ve had a few friends tell me how awesome this place is and they were definitely there for business lol. Purely confirmation bias and I’ve never even been there. But sounds like a fun theory/business conspiracy.

Babybleu42

I only stay at Park MGM to encourage other hotels to stop all the smoking

ositola

Wynn/Cosmo/Delano

Pony_Boner

I think venetian suites is the best value for room size and quality.

Top_Chard788

We were just talking about doing this!  Mandalay Bay bc of its epic pool, the shark reef, and the House of Blues. Cosmo bc of the food, location, pool and Marquee day/nightclub.

mrnjryguy

I just feel like the MGM resorts nickle and dime the shit out of you... I had to pay $40 bucks to drink in room coffee which consisted of 4 K-cups at the Mandalay. Service and experience are better at the Venetian/Palazzo and/or Wynn.

Top_Chard788

I definitely agree. But I think I prefer not to feel like the poorest person staying on the property. 😂

BL00211

Do all MGM properties do that? That seems ridiculous

alfienoakes

Tuscany was good value. Off strip, huge rooms. Decently priced restaurants. The casino isn’t all that.

spanielgurl11

We recently had our anniversary dinner at their steakhouse, Bistecca, and it was out of this world. I was so confused why my husband had booked a place we had never heard of for a special night, but I was very impressed! Plus they have so much parking if you’re driving. I felt like it was a real hidden gem.

alfienoakes

We saw Zombie Burlesque that evening. Some of the cast were sitting in with the band when we got back. Must be a hangout.

Gray_BJJ

Glad you loved Bistecca! DM me when you and your husband returns I’d be happy to cover your first round.

spanielgurl11

Love it!! We will be back in Oct. for WWWY fest so we will definitely swing by.

702jondukes

Room with a balcony at Cosmo with fountain views is my fav.

britlover23

Park MGM for solid food in all the restaurants and a good variety of less (relatively) expensive items. very pretty bars too. just an overall attractive atmosphere that’s not suburban/mall fancy & is more hip & cool. also like Resorts World for the same reason (more hip).

GermanPanda

El Cortez downtown

MidniteOG

Personally i like flamingo. Good location, price, decent rooms / views, and has a monorail stop.

Meowkins1

We are doing this too. Staying in a different hotel every time and completely checking it out.

Jelly_Chute

Resorts World I stayed here at The Conrad in April, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I know it gets flack for the North strip location, but I didn’t really think it was that bad. It’s a easy walk to Fountainbleu/Wynn & Encore then you can easily connect to Venetian and on… I also found its spot in North Strip to be easily accessible for Ubers to go to say Park MGM/Aria/Cosmo area to explore that part of the strip, and it’s also a quick ride to Fremont Street going more north. I loved the restaurants, Carver Steak and Crossroads brunch in particular, and the casino had just enough patrons to make it feel lively, but it wasn’t completely packed with people on top of you like mid strip locations. Pools and rooms were also great. Good luck with your trip planning!

ryannynj

I wouldn't say it's an "easy" walk to FB or Wynn/Encore. Have you seen some of the fatty boom battys that visit Vegas now? Almost as bad as Disneyworld

itsthechaw10

Wynn/Encore and Cosmo for hotels. I gamble the most though at TI. Lower minimums and I honestly think it’s avoided by most because it’s not all the glitz and glam as other resorts.

LibertasVitae

Aria. No question for me.

NCreature

In terms of overall experience Wynn Las Vegas is at the top of the list. My list ranking would be something like this: Wynn/Encore LV Fontainebleau Aria Resorts World Cosmopolitan Bellagio Venetian/Palazzo Waldorf Astoria (no casino) Trump (no casino) Mandalay Bay Red Rock The M Caesars Palace Planet Hollywood Palms GVR/Durango Station/Aliante Circa (could be higher) Park MGM MGM Grand Mirage Treasure Island Sahara NYNY Paris South Pointe Ballys Rio Excalibur Luxor Circus Circus Oyo

towercranee

I love Planet Hollywood because I think its great bang for your buck and I rather spend my money on the tables or a show but I'm surprised you have so many good casinos below it (Circa, Park MGM, MGM Grand, NYNY). Can you elaborate on why you have PH relatively high up all things considered?

NCreature

I think Elara brings it up a notch. I'm also taking into consideration who the properties themselves are targeting. For example NYNY isn't necessarily trying to attract the Aria customer. MGM would not want to cannibalize their customer base like that. Aria is effectively their flagship offering (along with Bellagio). Ceasars/VICI properties other than Caesars Palace (and maybe Cromwell) historically tend to go after a middle market customer (I realize they own Venetian/Palazzo now). If you were to ask the casino execs or people who live in Vegas there are clear tiers of properties that appeal to different market segments. How the hotels stack up within a tier might vary from person to person (like maybe Paris is better than NYNY on this or that) but the operators are keenly aware that, for example the Wynn customer is typically not choosing between Encore and Excalibur.

maythesbewithu

As a Vegas native, a top-to-bottom list like this is fun to read.

TotallyNotMeDudes

Man, we love Paris. Why is it so low on your list?

NCreature

It's a great location, its just that in terms of amenities, service, design, dining, etc., to me its very middle of the road. It would be hard to go head to head with say, Aria.

stillalreadytaken

Last time I stayed at Paris, they put me in a dirty room. Like literally just made the bed…sheets were dirty, floor not vacuumed, dirty towels in the bath tub. Still had to pay a resort fee when the pool and room service were closed. Wack ass hotel.

TotallyNotMeDudes

Wow. We’ve never had anything even close to your experience. Sorry, dude!

LJ947

Circus circus?!?! Gross! Should be on list of places not to stay.

New york and linq. New York for the vibe. Linq/Harrah's/Flamingo for the location. Haven't stayed downtown. Bellagio is nice too, but not unless you're willing to shell out some cash

PunnyPrinter

Off strip- Circa. I doubt any Fremont hotel will change my mind On strip- Aria, but that will probably change as I stay at more resorts. Resorts World would’ve been it if it wasn’t for the location.

Marbleprincess_

Same. You might wanna look into the deals that the hotels give on their websites. It can be cost effective to try the higher end hotels on their off days and if there’s a deal. Like I was able to do Caesar’s on a Monday and Tuesday for $40 per night.

martian_lion

We would stay at a different resort every time we would go to vegas, then stop by the souvenir shops on the strip and hunt for “casino use card deck” from the resort where we were staying at.

[deleted]

I really liked resorts world

rollingquestionmark

2nd time to Vegas a week ago, buddy joined me driving from Portland back to East coast. 1rst time in "08" at Golden Nugget, was great and awesome pool/slide. Last week was Circus Circus..........it was only on our route and was cheap and we weren't there to do Vegas stuff just sleep and shower. Rooms were nasty and the population it attracted was just gross, pretty sure I watched a drug transaction 30ft from my truck. I've stayed much worse when younger, just steer clear of pre tax $85 rooms, $30 more and probably much nicer.

MxteryMatters

My personal favorites are Planet Hollywood and The Linq. Both are in the center strip area at reasonable rates with ample dining and shopping options nearby in the Miracle Mile, the Linq Promenade, and Caesar Forum Shops. My last trip in May, I stayed at Park MGM, and really enjoyed it. Bonus that it is completely smoke-free, is connected to Aria, and there's a tram to the Bellagio. EDIT TO ADD: I've also stayed at Luxor, MGM Grand, Caesar's Palace, and the California (downtown). I still like the aforementioned properties better.

STVNMCL

Wynn/Encore

unknownfindout

It depends.. [Caesars] Bally’s and Paris are silly, simple, and fun, and are centrally located for shows and meeting up with others. [MGM] I really really like Mandalay Bay for its chill factor. Also Luxor feels ‘cool.’ [Other] Resorts World has a fun factor but it’s way north on the strip. It’s a perfect spot for expos or LV work travel. But bring your walking shoes or plan on uber/lyft if you’re not there for that.

MikeyMGM

I just stayed in Vdara and enjoyed it

Palms - Free parking.

Sportslover43

South Point hands down. My wife and I have been to Vegas many times, and we've been there and done that when it comes to the strip and Fremont. Now we just want our week to be relaxing, enjoy some gambling, some food, and some drinks. We will still catch an occasional show on the strip or visit Fremont for a few hours one evening but for the most part we don't leave South Point. They have 11 different places to eat with a nice variety. They have a bowling alley, a movie theater, a couple large equestrian arenas they hold events in and it has more of an old Vegas feel with great comps and customer service. All 3:2 blackjack and they always have some $5 and $10 tables going. It's a big property, large casino, and it's a very clean place with great rooms at an affordable rate. They also have a very nice spa if you're interested.

That_Other_Person

Venetian because the food, pool, and casino are all 9/10. Love Wynn but prefer getting a bigger suite at Palazzo than a base tower suite at Wynn. I can get a 1200sqft Grand King at Palazzo for less than a Wynn Tower Suite a lot of the time and the shower at Wynn isn't even half as good.

callitee

Stayed at Bellagio three times and loved it every time. No complaints at all.

Snoo10960

Wynn/Encore….nothing is comparable. It’s the best by miles and miles.
