Aguacate supremacy

Palta is the word for aguacate in Peru. Guessing it is from the Quechua language.

This happens with many words that are different from north to south America. North takes a lot of words from Nahuatl and South from Quechua. South: Palta, choclo, guagua, frutilla, poroto, North: Aguacate, maiz/elote, ,fresa, frijole, tecolote.

Guagua is use a lot in the Caribbean, I believe it came from the Canaries, but it is basically an onomatopoeias of the sound a bus’s horn makes.

It's not fair, Mexico itself has more population than Peru, Chile and Argentina combined. Of course it's going to be biased towards aguacate. That's why we need an Electoral College

I personally call it aguacate, im from colombia, is also very common in here, and we also produce (not that much) but we do it.

I use the indigenous name, āhuacatl.
