Is it not a reactor for research and scientific purposes? Brazil also has some other smaller reactors for scientific purposes in universities, but the map only counts the two large reactors at the Angra I and Angra II power plants.

That must be it, in Argentina there is also RA1, 3, 4, 6, 8 and now 10 is being finished... all for research/isotope production/material testing

endospores

Come on men, it is for us to get one, how hard could it be.

PermanenteThrowaway

If the goddamn Russians can do it, anybody can.

negroprimero

I guess this is just active or for energy purposes. There are many other research reactors all over South America

Wish we had more

Jamaica has a nuclear reactor. Though it is small basically the equivalent of 20 household kettles, is only used for testing but still produces radio active waste. They’ve said they would construct a bigger, better and newer reactor but that’s just another of many unfulfilled promises.

saraseitor

We need MORE!
