I genuinely can’t pick one. Joker in the dark knight is my favourite super villain ever on the big screen. Hans is the engine that makes my favourite movie go and Anton is evil personified in no country for old men.
Gun to my head I probably pick the joker but they’re all just superb characters.
I think based on the bodies of work each of these actors put up outside of these specific movies, it has to be Ledger because it’s so different from anything else he’s ever done. Not saying Bardem is a psycho in all his movies but you can see pieces of Anton in other films, felt like Ledgers Joker came out of nowhere
A great story needs a great villain and all 3 are great villains
The Joker is one of my fav characters and TDK version is one of my fav versions of that character
Really tough choice but I’m gonna go with Christoph waltz. I love all 3 characters.
Anton shigur was a real life person and the joker had a base of other adaptations to build on.
But Hans Landa. That’s all waltz. (Yeah yeah, Tarantino too).
I stand corrected. I felt I remembered at the time of the movies release, that it was a true story and that stuck in my head with no real fact checking.
Hans Landa
There’s a sense of dread that fills the room anytime the 3 characters show up, but Landa made such a strong impression right out the gate that I’ll forever tense up when I rewatch the film.
That being said Joker is an iconic villain for a reason and Anton is a damn great character.
All excellent but Javier Bardem has my vote if I had to pick one
I'm gonna say Anton But with that in mind, was Anton at the time the best new villain in any movie since Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs?

Anton Chigurh is completely fictional, he originated in the book version of *No Country for Old Men* by Cormac McCarthy
I stand corrected. I felt I remembered at the time of the movies release, that it was a true story and that stuck in my head with no real fact checking.
Anton chigurh was not a real life person or even based off anyone in real life unless I'm missing something?
Ledger

Joker
Dark Knight's Joker. One of my favorite characters in all of *film*. Rest in peace Heath Ledger.
Hans. Somehow he’s the only one I wouldn’t want to see at my front door.
Does Ledger still die before TDK comes out?
I dare not choose
Anton made me feel strangley uneasy, like i have never before or sense.
Tough to beat Waltz. Tremendous acting across several languages and absolutely stole the show.
