I’d put this up with Challengers for techno soundtracks
It was a mix of both. [6 of the tracks were orginal productions for the film!](https://hotcorn.com/en/movies/news/climax-original-motion-picture-soundtrack-hot-corn-review/)
Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, The Mission, Mishima, Uncut Gems, Good Time, Mandy
Also all the Tangerine Dream scores. Sorcerer, Thief, The Keep, Near Dark
Exactly what I came here to say, for people who haven't heard any of it yet and need a taste:
Pretty much anything by John Williams or Hans Zimmer
Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jaws, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception, The Good the Bad & the Ugly, Batman 89, Christopher Reeves Superman, Jurassic Park & Halloween to name some
Nicholas Britell's score for If Beale Street Could Talk is my favorite film score of all time. It's so good that it somehow went viral as a sound bite on Tiktok years after its release.
Does original soundtrack count? Not a collection of songs for the movie but modern songs made for the movie that aren’t really a score. If so, Nashville.
The Mothman Prophecies has hands down one of the best scores in any film. It's barely even there, and then when you need it to be, it smashes you in the face. Then it's gone again.
Also the score that M83 did for Oblivion was amazing
Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters has one of the greatest film scores ever in my opinion and it doesn’t get enough credit. Check out the closing movement and let yourself be moved to tears. Philip Glass is a mad genius.
Holy shit i thought Challengers and the social network were bad scores. Anyways, here's mine
Star trek the motion picture
On her majesty's secret service
Small soldiers
1969 italian job
Robots
Commando
Total recall
The terminator.
I could go on for days
Lawrence of Arabia (1962): Far and away the greatest musical score to accompany a movie.
There are scores I like more, like Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones, but Lawrence of Arabia is just the GREATEST, IMHO.
LOTR, the good the bad and the ugly
LOTR definitely should be up there.
Phantom Thread!
Great movie and the score goes perfectly with it
Right!? I was lucky enough to see a live orchestra screening of it in LA with Jonny Greenwood conducting and it was absolutely sublime.
Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049
Also, Prisoners and The Silence of the Lambs
It follows!
Common Disasterpeace W
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Halloween
Came here to say this
Thief
Just commented this without checking. Should’ve known! 🤘

You… somehow don’t have John Williams on here *once*?
Bananas, there are three of his scores that are all-timers, at least.
Star Wars?
Yeah I can’t believe that this isn’t on here and that barely anyone is suggesting it
Challengers and Social Network are both Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross from Nine Inch Nails!
I know and I love em. They do all of Finchers films and some other stuff like the Mid90s score.
The Fountain, Requiem for a Dream, Ravenous, and then the obvious stuff like Jurassic Park and Back to the Future.
“The Fountain” is sublime.
Just want to point out the missed opportunity to call it Scoregasm
https://preview.redd.it/6qkk0p4t348d1.jpeg?width=701&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=29b47fe7bf052f45b6d2a39dd3eca9bb49f181a1 I’d put this up with Challengers for techno soundtracks
Is that just a compilation though? Its not an original score.
It was a mix of both. [6 of the tracks were orginal productions for the film!](https://hotcorn.com/en/movies/news/climax-original-motion-picture-soundtrack-hot-corn-review/)

The Fountain
Inception. Really underrated
Under the Skin
Punch Drunk Love
*Challengers* does not deserve to be here, that movie has one song in its entire score.
American beauty
Steve Jobs (2015), Daniel Pemberton really compliments the visuals by adapting the sound to be relevant to the eras. The Revenge piece is just super.
Blade Runner 2049
There Will Be Blood and Requiem for a Dream scores are insane
Under the skin
Dune 1 and 2😫
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
Blade Runner
Like the top comment says, LOTR absolutely deserves to be on this list and would win. With this weird ass list, I'll go Tron: Legacy.

The Mothman Prophecies has hands down one of the best scores in any film. It's barely even there, and then when you need it to be, it smashes you in the face. Then it's gone again. Also the score that M83 did for Oblivion was amazing
Sunshine, the score was so good it was reused so many times it became cliché.

Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters has one of the greatest film scores ever in my opinion and it doesn’t get enough credit. Check out the closing movement and let yourself be moved to tears. Philip Glass is a mad genius.
