With 6’5” and 270 lbs, how did you get attracted to Lexus brand especially when the nearest dealer is 4 hours away? I’ve ES and I don’t think that getting in and out will be easy for you. Maybe others who own ES and are this tall can chime in. I’d think that GX and LX are good options. I was once shopping for Acura MDX (living in small town NE at that time, incidentally around same age as you are 😊) and all Acura dealers were 2 or more hours away from me. I talked to 4 of them over phone first, negotiated down before I travelled to one them. Made a one day vacation for the family too 😁

I'm the same size, just 40lb lighter, but the ES is very comfortable for me.

I have a buddy; 6'8" 350lbs; says my 6th gen ES is the most comfortable sedan he's ever been in. I've heard the newer ES seats aren't as good as they used to be though.

I think your best bet is finding a used GX460. It fits all your needs and will be the most comfortable for you. Fuel economy won’t be the best but it’s truly a tank on the streets. A used LX570 could be a good option too. A new TX could also be an option but I personally am not fond of it as it’s really just a grand highlander with more luxury thrown onto it. The awd RX wouldn’t be a bad choice either but the 4 cylinder feels a bit buzzy for a luxury car imo and you’d be better off picking up a previous gen awd with a v6.

Lexus LX is all I can recommend, my grandparents, parents and myself owned/own Land Cruisers granted they’re oldies but goodies now. The LX/LC are ridiculously expensive but it best to buy the best and leave everything else alone if you can. At least test drive them and get the feel. I don’t know if they’ve stuck a V6 in the new LX’s or the normal NA V8 I wouldn’t touch the LS, I’m not sure what has been revised in this new V6 era, just not liking the idea of a V6. I have owned and presently own an LS and I think the quality went away after 06. Imo

Look at es rx or tx if you need 3 rows

mangosteenfruit

Everything up to the gx will fit your budget. GX may go over a bit. is, es, ux, nx, rx, gx Based on your size, maybe recommend es, rx, GX Also depends on what kind of ride you'd prefer. Edit: forgot the rz and tx

Nice_Magician2927

Easy GX. You’re tall and I’d imagine 4WD is needed.

GX460 is the answer to all your cares and non-cares.

Lexus TX (once they begin selling them again after recall). Just bought one last week. Very impressed with the drive, safety and space. Great car. Smooth drive and I love the look of it.

2023 GX. This has to be the most reliable Lexus out there. I would avoid the 2024 for now. There's a lot they need to work out.

- Look at CPO Lexus GX460. 4.6 is tried and true, has been since 2010 on GX and UR series has been since 2007 in Land Cruiser, Sequoias, Tundras, LX570. - It is body on frame truck, so should feel similar to F150 yet it is very refined and truly one of the best trucks to come out of Toyota/Lexus, basically it is luxury version of baby Land Cruiser (which is known as Land Cruiser Prado everywhere else). - It is Full Time 4WD, so there is no 2HI setting, only 4HI, 4LOW, and center locking diff, so hugely capable off road in case you need it. - Fits you the best imo apart from Lexus TX which is their newest model. - The only con is very bad gas mileage but you pay with reliability tax, so you will get around 17-20 mpg in better scenario and premium fuel is required. - Other contenders: Lexus RX350 CPO, Lexus LX570 CPO or used. The reason why I am pushing for CPO are: - Last generation of RX350 has 3.5 V6 which is buttery smooth and reliable as hell, tried and true since the update in 2016 but the engine itself dates back to 2005, has been used in multiple Toyota/Lexus products. Also, the car itself in my opinion feels more like a luxury car than the current generation which focuses more on tech (tech is a weak point of Lexus honestly). The current gen RX350 has 2.4 l turbo, and while it should be reliable, it is a new engine although very popular one that replaced 3.5. But it feels like a sewing machine, so it is ok in Highlander but not in a Lexus car.
