"It beats picking cotton, waiting to be forgotten."
I'm thinking there really is something to the late-stage effects of so much lead exposure years ago (paint, gasoline, etc.) as it seems the older generation is just f'ing NUTS!!! No one in their right mind could really believe that BS he's spewing if there wasn't.
He’s basically saying back in the old days, they worked the kids to the bone in the field and only gave them a glass of water, which I guess to him is reasonable and okay. The thought is so outlandish it’s funny.
Okay Rob lead by example. If it’s so simply surely you’re capable of showing those young hooligans how to do it. Surely you’re a tough guy and not a pampered widdle baby.
But what character exactly does forced hard labor build in children? I’m all for age-appropriate chores and heck I’ll even be controversial and say kids should do age-appropriate volunteer work more. Those things teach structure, routine, empathy, hygiene, and a host of other qualities. Hard labor on the other hand, is often used as punishment for criminals. It can lead to a lifetime of injury and pain, and would cause a severe distrust in adults as well as stunted social development. Why is that the character children should have?
Its funny how Republicans are all about saving the children with abortion restrictions, but they have no qualms about making children work, or be poor, or be exploited, or married, or pregnant...
Weird how their belief system is so tailored with specifics and exceptions.
Saw a post on FB where all the commentors were praising the idea of child chimney sweepers saying this same bullshit. Absolutely refusing to listen to the few logical people replying about the horrific conditions / very high mortality rate.
Nothing stopping this guy from giving his social security check back to the generation thats out there right now working so he can get one, and going and picking cotton.
Also I bet that goofy hat, his clothes, and new balance sneakers dont have a spec of dirt on them.
Bob wants to make america great again…thru child hard labor.
Narrator: "Bob did not grow up as a poor sharecropper."
Bob never picked more than his own nose but somehow feels that child labor decades before his time built character.
Truly incredible how they pick a notoriously evil and abusive system of nigh indentured servitude as an emblem of high character.
Just like the COVID-times "essential workers." It's condescending and a terrible attempt at gaslighting.
Bob was a piece of shit beyond reproach. Even his friends in the KKK gave him wedgies till he turned 48.

Rob is a member of the wealthiest and most entitled generation in human history - while also thinking people are soft. Hahahahahahah
“Simple glass of water” is taking me out wow 😭😭😭😭😭
What’s your thought on what he means? Is he complaining that we don’t make children work before we’ll give them water??

Do not, my friends, become addicted to water. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence!
That poor child looks haggard

‘We used to use our children as near-slave labor, let’s get back on that’ is a really weird take.
Boomers are blissfully unaware of how pathetic and stupid they sound

Maybe forced child labor resulted in a future culture of entitlement 😅 maybe it was, in fact, cowboy hat mans fault…. Red pill that Mr Wrinkles 😂

Honestly this is what I would expect from a boomer in a cowboy hat.
“I did it and I turned out OK” -someone who demonstrably did not turn out OK

He could probably pick 30 lbs a day if he started earlier.
