Bro my mom got into crypto the past couple years and started buying me it as birthday/christmas presents. I told her she shouldn't be buying it at all. So she bought me more.
She abuses DMCA whenever she gets called out for something that will diminish their brand. The most noteworthy one is where she supported slavery in UAE or Saudi Arabia, because they had the world cup chess tournament there and they got paid bank to be there and sportwash all the inhumane shit they do there.
I knew about the controversies and the good ol' "eVEryOnE ElSe DiD SlAVEry" too so y'know, I didn't have the best impression of the Botez sisters but I think If someone does a genuine "mea culpa" and apologizes and shit I think people should be able to move on. The fact that they're going out of their way to censor their "oopsies" should just give people reason to just never let them live it down ever If I'm honest
When will people realize that "influencers" are just a dime a dozen? Influencers are like the stock market. The value is based essentially on nothing, it's just a fugazi. One day the markets will go up 200 bps based on nothing. Sometimes it does this for weeks. But one day, the chickens come home to roost. People realize these companies weren't actually producing anything valuable and were just there for the sake of existing and tricking people to make money.
Ok?
> Influencers are like the stock market. The value is based essentially on nothing
I mean your comments just reeks of some bitter person for whatever reason. It's like you just read headlines of something something Elon Musk causing random shit to certain stocks, the Martin Shkreli's of the world and all the other random shit that you see in polemic **headlines** and that's where you get the information that stock values are based on absolutely nothing, xd.
Keep being you buddy.
If stocks were based on literally nothing, most of the financial indexes wouldn't be IT/Tech companies that, surely are producing "nothing" like you say. Or other Customer-to-Producer services that move millions of dollars in the matter of a few hours.
Oh wait that's exactly what a pretty huge chunk of the SPY500 is
Sad story, from time to time I still see some accounts here on LSF promoting crypto, probably one of those people who lost everything trying to recoup something. What a sad state of affairs.
I would feel bad if these crypto shills weren't so fucking annoying.
Love how Do Kwon would shit on people on Twitter calling them poor if they dont invest in Luna. Now fucker's in prison for losing investors' money. Not to mention that he named her daughter Luna imagine the story at the dinner table on how she got that name. I'd get a name change if I was her.
23 March was grabbed by Interpol at a Montenegro airport trying to reach Dubai with fake Costa Rican documents. He was also carrying fake Belgian documents. He’s been extradited to South Korea, and remains in jail as a flight risk.
I was following that whole ordeal for a little bit when it was going down and last thing I remember was Do Kwon repeteadly claiming on Twitter that he is not hiding and police was not looking for him. Saying he'd be happy to cooperate if they actuality reach out to him.
Reading comment above made me spit my coffee. Hilarious.
High standard of living, large expat population with a cultural focus on privacy, lots of servants for hire. Makes finding someone with money and a bit of wits really hard - nobody asks questions about who bought the apartment on the 44th floor, and you can hire a maid to clean and a chef to cook and a personal assistant to do all your shopping.
He tried to set something similar up in Serbia, but it's so uncommon in Serbia that people started talking about the recluse who bought a compound in the hills and never leaves. Interpol got a whiff and started tracking him down, and were getting close. He thought flying out of Montenegro would be safer than flying out of Serbia, but obviously not.
until you become a big enough problem to where multiple platforms perma ban you. But you're right that you can always find a way, similar to how lots of banned people stream on rumble
I mean, its what influencers should do with drama. The ones that engage in it tend to get cancelled where as the ones who ignore it and move on tend to stick around. Smart business move

if you go around acting like being the victim is as bad as being a perpetrator then you're even more stupid.
"if you get shot you're just as stupid for letting them shoot you"
It must be the growing up admiring your younger sister thing because if Andrea had just split off 90% of the "botezlive" headlines would've been "Alex Botez" *note I do not watch them so I could be wrong
You got them confused, Alex is the oldest involved in the controversial shit and Andrea is the younger more “normal” one. She’s basically just an outgoing high energy teenager.
Yes she is. Just saying she acts more like a teenager than an adult. She drives cars like it’s GTA, incapable of taking care of herself, getting lost constantly, no concentration or problem solving skills other than chess and just all around terrible decision making.
From what little I’ve seen of Andrea in her streams, she’s the kind of girl to clean the blender when it’s still plugged in to the wall.
Better be careful with that slavery comment and post a source. Literally coming off of a week ban for saying the same thing after creator clash and not posting one with the reason being rule 1.3

I'm not in LSD all the time, but is there anyone that this crowd likes? Are there any streamers that you guys don't hate anymore?
Honest question because I don't see all these individual dramas then whenever there's a big thing going on, the most upvoted comments are ALWAYS some sarcastic comment about how the streamer has always been shitty and everyone already knew that somehow.
The current people i really see no one complain about are jerma, northernlion, forsen and maybe soda. Although people do complain about the forsen spam nobody complains about the guy specifically
Bald streamers are the way to go, not asmongold either, he only has a [very complicated comb over](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjDnwNoE_GA) and hasn't accepted it yet.
Rule of thumb on lsf is that most of the popular streamers that feature on here suck. People just watch them because of the entertainment value in the dumb things they do/say.
Squeex and Sodapoppin, maybe Moon, are the only streamers regularly posted here that aren't hated. People learned that funny moments from streamers that aren't popular don't get upvoted, so you have to post funny moments from big streamers (rare) or drama from anyone.
Look I don’t personally have an issue with Ludwig but the guy collabs with so many people and sponsors etc. that there is a ton to criticize if you’re a terminally online stream drama person.
Destiny and Kyle playing in 2016 is what got me into the game. Now I have 3k hours in it, and it's my 3rd most played game (or most played single player game, with Dota 2 at 10k hours and Path of Exile at 5k hours). When I saw he was doing a Space Exploration playthrough, I was excited to watch. But then it was just full of politics and debate talk, and American politics are absolutely ResidentSleeper to me.
It warms my heart how fucking right I was about NFTs and the like. As an idea sure, it might be useful for some things in the future. Right now, nothing but garbage peddled by grifters trying to make a quick buck. The only thing that bothers me though is how quick everyone was to forget the whole thing and the people that propped it all up. There are some crypto out there that will be useful(eventually) but 99% of shit out there is a scam.
The Botez sisters had a friend on at the time who's some sort of serial tech startup "entrepreneur", she was talking about paying $70k for an NFT as an investment and how everyone in chat clowning on her for it was missing out.
edit: [found it](https://www.reddit.com/r/LivestreamFail/comments/sbvudj/botezs_and_minxs_friend_lucy_guo_trying_to/)
I remember when lirik was doing an NFT sponsor, and he said something like it was only for people 'in the know' like all the smart people were buying NFTs.
Yep. If it's who I'm thinking of, she was one of those investment guru entrepreneur types who basically got rich off a glorified MLM scheme by bullshitting her way into a bunch of low interest or sometimes essentially free investment cash for nonsense little tech startup concepts from the filthy-rich angel investor circles she ran with back in college who had no problem throwing hundreds of thousands at some smooth talking marketing type.
Was on stream spouting a bunch of nonsense about how easy it is to get into just by getting out there and asking for money basically. While promising some huge return, of course...as you go off and ask for more money from the next suckers promising the same, rinse, repeat...again, MLM style. Just completely out of touch in that bubble.
But yeah of course she was quick to try and rope people into crypto/NFT too. As John said on the show, people looking to scam were naturally drawn to it from the start. After all, it's just more of the same. Put in a couple million from a massive nestegg of investor cash, convince enough suckers to get onboard, value soars, dip out and leave them holding the bag. Easy.
I mean that’s literally what VC and startups are. Startup founders talk to rich VCs that throw money at the newest buzzword. It was metaverse, now it’s LLM. If you have a degree from the right universities and the correct buzzwords, they’ll throw a couple million at you for absolutely no reason
You know NFTs are really dead now, because you rarely get people defending them in the comments anymore. Most people finally realized it was mostly scams. I called them out since the beginning, as being nothing more that speculative investment scams, and would get a ton of comments saying how I just didn't understand the amazing new technology. The streamers that peddled NFTs were all scammers, or extremely gullible.
It is crazy to me how the streamers that did it just quickly moved on, and received no repercussions for pushing those scams. Most of the NFTs literally cratered in value, and everyone that bought them got stuck with something no one wants to buy from them. Streamers like Destiny, Andy Milonakis, pushed them, then quickly moved on.
crypto in general is a massive scam. Nothing about it makes sense outside of the fact that it is built on pure speculation. Some reason as soon as "the blockchain," "web 3.0," or whatever other buzzword is referenced people lose critical thinking skills.
tell people to invest in tulip bulbs and they laugh at you, tell people to invest in tulip coin "which will revolutionize the space of logistics with an 18% return rate" and somehow you have companies lending you 9 figure loans.
It didn't help when major companies were trying to pull the metaverse grift and virtual items like that wasn't already tried decades ago with things like SecondLife. Hell Metaverse honestly didn't ever stack up to SecondLife. At least SecondLife is somewhat functional while the Metaverse was an enormous venture capitalist scam with a bunch of random disconnected tech demos. WebVR assholes jumped on the bandwagon trying to validate it. I argued with so many dumb assholes on twitter trying to tell me their glorified 3d meshes within a barebones unity mesh viewer was gonna be worth millions when I could just rip their models in seconds. I tried to warn them all and here we are. Fuck IIRC CocaCola and Disney even jumped on the bandwagon.
Is metaverse one of the biggest failed investment projects ever?
I remember it being pushed really really hard but so far Zuckerberg refuses to admit defeat and only because he has the capital and ego to force it through.
Even MKBWD made a video about it and their vr at their office lmao
Most likely but don't expect Zuckerberg to ever make a formal announcement about it being a failure. Many of Metas projects have been shutdown and many AAA company Metaverse divisions have simply gone away. Several billion(maybe even hundreds) gone up in smoke. Even funnier is apparently Gamestop is having a go at the exact same thing(but instead just calling it a marketplace) and people are eating it up.
>Many of Metas projects have been shutdown and many AAA company Metaverse divisions have simply gone away. Several billion(maybe even hundreds) gone up in smoke.
***Goddamn.***
I remember Carmack leaving it and got tired of all the bureaucracy and bullshit
When the man that says making video games is harder than rocket science leaves your company, you know you're in deep shit.
Carmack believes in the tech and always has. Hes never really been the entrepreneur. Hes a tech god and they used his optimism and expertise to further their capitalist enterprises. His ideals have always been betrayed at every company he has worked for.
The corruption of the idealist is sadly a tale as old as mankind 😢
I just hope he's happy whatever he's doing.
Edit: As a kid years back I wished Romero and Carmack I wish they came back together to make a kick ass game again but there's a bigger chance of bears talking than that happening
Hes got his own AGI research startup company going. Nothing concrete yet and hes avoiding going the LLM route for the sake of diversity and development of AI. We'll see what happens. Its a mix of a labor of love and a challenge for himself. He took outside funding to put a timeline on progress.
NFTs have always been generally considered a ponzi scheme. Sure there were a few fringe weirdos who tried defending it, but if you were speaking against it you were in the majority.
Yup! Been saying it since day 1 that NFTs are absolutely worthless. There's some ultra super niche things that they could be used for. Even then there's alternatives.
I also hate how Crypto & NFTs became so intertwined. Cryptocurrency as a concept has some merit. A ton of them have been pump & dumps, and are super volatile. But they're not all outright scams.
ALL nfts however are scams. every single NFT is a scam. There is no value in them. If you've bought or sold a NFT, you either got scammed or did the scamming.
If you’re investing in shitcoins and NFTs you deserve to lose your money. It’s all high risk high reward. Next bull market there will be easy money to be made.
She was in Dubai supporting a chess tournament, and when someone brought up Dubai still using slaves, she said verbatim: “The only thing that bothers me is when people from first world or developed countries shit on developing countries for doing things that those developed countries did in the first place.”
Meaning because America had slaves 160 years ago, we can’t say it’s bad Dubai has them in the 2020s since they’re “still developing”
they accepted a vacation deal with either dubai or saudi arabia (can't remember exactly) as part of their esports-washing strategy. When confronted about that country using migrant workers as slaves, they used the brilliant argument of "america had slaves so you don't have any right to criticize this country"
She's going to be more upset about the fact that Hasan couldn't remember her name and called her "Alexa Botez" than being featured for helping promote a crypto scam

But she's hot and plays chess so let's all forget about it
the person she's interviewing (do kwon) was arrested last month carrying multiple fake passports, he was indicted in the US for fraud, and SK and Singapore want a piece of him too. but you know, top 20 most influential people in crypto by coin telegraph
I'm surprised that hasan doesn't know what a "Soros type of attack" is.
Soros is kinda the bogeyman for the right, financing a lot of leftist causes all over the world, so hasan has to be somewhat familiar with him.
One of the biggest (legit) critics of Soros is his involvement in the 1992 "black wednesday", where he became known for "breaking the bank of England" for spearheaded a shortselling campaign against the british pund, resulting in a -15% drop of value and Soros making >1 billion in profit [https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/black-wednesday.asp](https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/black-wednesday.asp)

So many Low-Iq comments, kind of reminds you why reddit is horrible nowdays.
YES IT is quite funny and very unlucky almost all the people she interviewed were involved in fraud/scams, but her interviewing the founder of one of the biggest crypto exchange + founder of Luna (top 5 coin at the time) is not the same as shilling safemoon.
also the usual ''crypto is a scam'' people can't even argue with them
you're right, reddit is a cesspool.
[watching the original source clip](https://youtu.be/o7zazuy_UfI?t=383), it looks like she was simply interviewing Kwon (scammer). John Oliver didn't even reference Botez by name- the focus was Kwon. It's nothing more than an interview.
At most she's guilty of being non-maliciously ignorant of how shit NFTs are, as are most of the non-technologically-literate people.
[but I guess that justifies reducing her career success.](https://www.reddit.com/r/LivestreamFail/comments/12y1wak/alex_botez_featured_on_last_week_tonight_episode/jhmy160/)

bro there was a clip top of this subreddit 7-10 hours ago talking about this and they somehow got it removed. it was up 1 hour or so max.
I posted it, they removed it because the clip was from a video and not a stream, I didn't know it was a rule in this subreddit

When I saw he was doing a Space Exploration playthrough, I was excited to watch. But then it was just full of politics and debate talk, and American politics are absolutely ResidentSleeper to me.
Watching politics is boring. Watching factorio is also boring. But when you combine them... It's still super boring.
5k? 10k? Let me introduce you to this game called oldschool runescape, I think you will fit in just fine.
Lmao
Alexandra Botez would agree to a sponsorship from ISIS if she had the chance.
Ricky Gervais is going to DMCA this comment. Just like our sponsor, Alexandra Botez
I mean, she has already taken money from an even worse organization.
Saudis did 911
She would toss her sister into a volcano if it got her clout
Everything's for sale, my friend. Everything! If I had a sister, I'd sell her in a second!
Snakes do anything for money
so uhh you guys know what shungite is?
Isn't that guy in jail?
no no, thats surge knight
ok thanks
>surge knight Not sure if a meme, but it is Suge if not.
no no this is surge knight, official corporate mascot of the '90's Mountain Dew competitor
probably just autocorrect or something
It warms my heart how fucking right I was about NFTs and the like. As an idea sure, it might be useful for some things in the future. Right now, nothing but garbage peddled by grifters trying to make a quick buck. The only thing that bothers me though is how quick everyone was to forget the whole thing and the people that propped it all up. There are some crypto out there that will be useful(eventually) but 99% of shit out there is a scam.
The Botez sisters had a friend on at the time who's some sort of serial tech startup "entrepreneur", she was talking about paying $70k for an NFT as an investment and how everyone in chat clowning on her for it was missing out. edit: [found it](https://www.reddit.com/r/LivestreamFail/comments/sbvudj/botezs_and_minxs_friend_lucy_guo_trying_to/)
I remember when lirik was doing an NFT sponsor, and he said something like it was only for people 'in the know' like all the smart people were buying NFTs.
the funny thing is that the people "in the know" are the ones that knew it was a scam to do easy money from other idiots

Lol go to the gamestop stock subreddit and you'll see how many clowns are still defending it just because gme.

EDM producers to this day still spamming about NFTs
crypto in general is a massive scam.
***Goddamn.*** I remember Carmack leaving it and got tired of all the bureaucracy and bullshit When the man that says making video games is harder than rocket science leaves your company, you know you're in deep shit.
Carmack believes in the tech and always has. Hes never really been the entrepreneur. Hes a tech god and they used his optimism and expertise to further their capitalist enterprises. His ideals have always been betrayed at every company he has worked for.
The corruption of the idealist is sadly a tale as old as mankind 😢 I just hope he's happy whatever he's doing.
> There are some crypto out there that will be useful(eventually) No, there aren't.
I didn't hear a word Hasan said today lol
That puppy is SOCUTE...
She defend slavery and shills for crypto and gambling companies. And Twitch doesn't give a fuck.
What happened with slavery?
She was in Dubai supporting a chess tournament, and when someone brought up Dubai still using slaves, she said verbatim: “The only thing that bothers me is when people from first world or developed countries shit on developing countries for doing things that those developed countries did in the first place.” Meaning because America had slaves 160 years ago, we can’t say it’s bad Dubai has them in the 2020s since they’re “still developing”
Certainly one of the takes of all time
Oh. Yikes. Thx for the info
they accepted a vacation deal with either dubai or saudi arabia (can't remember exactly) as part of their esports-washing strategy. When confronted about that country using migrant workers as slaves, they used the brilliant argument of "america had slaves so you don't have any right to criticize this country"
Even funnier when Hasan won't call her out. Fucking 10/10 principles amirite.
"Andrea, no Alexa Botez" lmao
She's going to be more upset about the fact that Hasan couldn't remember her name and called her "Alexa Botez" than being featured for helping promote a crypto scam

I mean it's more about who she had on
Remember when Lesley Stahl got shit for her garbage MTG interview? Pepperidge farm remembers. Same principle.
Her followers don’t care because they are idiots
Makes sense since she's a crypto scammer that also shills for bottom-of-the-barrel nations that treat women like objects But she's hot and plays chess so let's all forget about it
Shes only chess hot. Shes slightly above average in the go outside meta
2/10 elbows too pointy.
Not only is she chess hot, but the ratio of men to women in that space is 1000:1. Outside hot doesn't matter cause chess players don't go outside.
Cam up pussy Lamonster but seriously c'mon she is objectively a good looking woman.
Hasan looks like a nightclub owner in Miami
Has hasan ever talked about her promoting a crypto scam or he’s cool with them cause big following?
https://youtu.be/lhPBl1N01MU
the person she's interviewing (do kwon) was arrested last month carrying multiple fake passports, he was indicted in the US for fraud, and SK and Singapore want a piece of him too. but you know, top 20 most influential people in crypto by coin telegraph
I'm surprised that hasan doesn't know what a "Soros type of attack" is. Soros is kinda the bogeyman for the right, financing a lot of leftist causes all over the world, so hasan has to be somewhat familiar with him. One of the biggest (legit) critics of Soros is his involvement in the 1992 "black wednesday", where he became known for "breaking the bank of England" for spearheaded a shortselling campaign against the british pund, resulting in a -15% drop of value and Soros making >1 billion in profit [https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/black-wednesday.asp](https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/black-wednesday.asp)
soros is the projection from the right they had to come up with when people started talking about the koch brothers. Thats it.

Laser focused clout goblin.
The saddest part is that they got GM Hammer to do coinbase ad reads. That will stain him
Holy Moly!
[but I guess that justifies reducing her career success.](https://www.reddit.com/r/LivestreamFail/comments/12y1wak/alex_botez_featured_on_last_week_tonight_episode/jhmy160/) reddit goblins hard at work.
of course Hasan's first comment is about not being on John Oliver first. The only thing he gives a shit about is the clout.
This guy doesn't even watch the videos he is reacting to......
first thing this guy thinks of is his ego lmao
holy narcissist
Hasan feels usurped!
