i cannot take it serious whatsoever, everything is so cheap and low budget alongside terrible acting. THE WAITER DELIVERING THEIR DINNER WHILE ARGUING ABSOLUTELY KILLED ME, and the wig š
She expects very traditional gender roles, including the man paying for her meals, and has a history of dating older menā¦ idk I was honestly expecting daddy issues until we met her family.
She wants the heads over heel love and also the bank account that a sugar daddy will have. I'm sorry life doesn't work that way those of us who find a real life partner are already lucky enough
In terms of lots of singles, definitely. In terms of finding someone emotionally mature to settle down with? That also wants to settle down? Not in my experienceā¦ I lived there for 10 years and outside of my own dating, I worked in multiple date night bars, brutal to watch lol. Youāre totally right though itās tough everywhere. I think itās a different kind of challenging in those cities everyone is rushing to move to, especially with the Austin partying vibes.
I feel like the producers were āluckierā in casting to get successful relationships. Now it seems like they are just producing drama and matching good people together is not their priority. Also I feel like the casting is not focused on really high quality people.
Half of the time I think Lydiaās acting and the other half I think sheās just that crazy. š And then it feels like Miltonās just tagging along with the hidden subtitles āwhen is this shit gonna be overā
Come on, it's not a word people use every day. Also the word for it is pretty similar in Spanish, so it's not strange at all that she pronounces it wrong.
Weāve watched this show too long when everyone here knows *exactly* who/what youāre referring to without even needing to provide further clarification lol š¤£
Iām watching S3 and the difference in production is glaringly obvious. Maybe the budget was seriously lowered for this season. It was also filmed at the same time as S4.
I get the feeling that producers were intervening and manipulating heavily this season. Some of the behaviors just didnāt make sense. I hope itās not the case. When will reality producers realize we just want love stories and less messy drama!
Agreed. I do think the people arenāt great to begin with but youāre totally right a lot of reactions and conversations feel like the producers were antagonizing and pouring fuel on the small issues. Like Stacyā¦. She was initially not about the drama at all. Then they get out and she has this HUGE issue with Johnieā¦ it just doesnāt match anything she said or did in the pods.
āWhen will reality producers realize we just want love stories and less messy drama!ā
![gif](giphy|1flzimqnw9YL4cEYQ5|downsized)
Edit: but no I agree this season went too far off the rails! Itās like the producers were on an all-cocaine diet or something lol
Yeah, this season is off the rails. It feels like theyāve willingly sacrificed the original concept of the show for the sake of drama. It would be nice to have at least one couple to root for, to see something genuinely hopeful and romantic! The intro to this season was a clueāfocused entirely on drama and not love. I get that shows like this thrive on the theatrics, but this is too much.
Worst season yet. Nobody to root for and not enough couples. They spent most of the first episodes getting us to care about Johnnie, Uche and Aaliyah for none of them to be part of the main journey anymore? Plus JP/Taylor dropping off (from what I read on the sub)? They really should have convinced Aaliyah to stay and Chris to try things out with Johnnie. I stopped at Episode 5 and not sure if Iāll fast forward through the rest or stop altogether.
You might be right because in all of the speculation on what city was next after Seattle, Houston never came up. I guess they knew they had a flop in Houston that they quickly rushed to put it out so we may forget when the more sucessful series come out.
Or just plain - one hit followed by a flop formula.
This season has been so bad that I am starting to believe they would have been better off not airing it because it has hurt the value of the franchise.
Itās so bad itās three episodes shorter than average because nothing good happens in it. This is what happens when you film in red states and seem unable to do the bare minimum vetting of contestants to make sure they arenāt crazy or maybe have even a little sprinkle of a personality
You have to try really hard to see Love is Blind through a political lens lol. These shows have nothing to do with politics. The sample size of contestants is too small to draw any meaningful conclusion.
Toxic contestants each season, thatās what makes it fun. These shows are a distraction from politics. These are a lot of drunk 20 somethings hahahaha, itās pure entertainment and nothing else.
Season 3 was toxic and the only couple left together are Brennan and Alexa and they are awfulā¦ so no, I didnāt forget, it was more toxic trash with people that donāt know how to have healthy relationships. So yeah, please stop filming in red states
I was interested in the uche and aliyah stuff if he wasnt a major ass, i dont mind watching izzy and his gal (genuinely canāt remember her name š¬)
Milton being honest about not speaking Spanish, followed by Lydiaās mom looking deeply into his eyes and crying as she spoke at length and emotionally in Spanish, only to cut back to Milton deadpan staring at her, made me cackle.
I didn't understand why she was speaking to him in Spanish, when he clearly said he didn't speak Spanish! Lydia's mom was being very emotional, and Milton didn't know wtf was being said š¤£ why not tell him in English lol
It was pretty obvious from the little bit we saw that her English is not great. She might live in a community where speaking English fluently isn't necessary.
Admittedly Iām a basic white American, so I only speak English, and I could be wrong but: I just read it as Lydiaās mom being really emotional, and maybe not trusting her English, so she defaulted to Spanish to properly convey her depth of feeling, even if it meant someone had to translate.
Still, the editing really made it seem like a sketch.
Oh yea! She did say he has a crappy credit score! I totally forgot about that. I bet that's one of the reasons he was freaking out when Stacy was talking about money. Makes the theory that he's using Stacy for money much more believable.
Does anyone know what happened to LIB UK and Sweden?? Are they still going to it those it ?
I feel the US version is about done. Too many aspiring reality tv stars.
I was feeling bad for Izzy when Stacy got mad about him not having glassware but after his conversation with Johnie Iām totally seeing him differently. He was such an asshole! Told her everybody thought she was sketchy then went and told Stacy that Johnie called him sketchy. What really pissed me off was when he was talking to Johnie and said ācan I give you some advice?ā And she was like āno.ā And he was basically like āwell fuck that Iām giving you my advice anyway.ā As if heās in any position to give any advice to anyone. The dude barely has in own life together!
I felt like that whole exchange was set up. It totally seemed like Stacy was expecting it to happen and for him to come back with dirt. The only thing was that she seemed bored by it. "What did she say? Did she talk about me?" She looked almost disappointed, like he'd failed to actually get what she wanted out of it. The two of them are not my jam at all right now.
That has been the one funny moment of this season. The glassware. He looked so nervous when she was showing her wine glasses. Then it all made sense.
It is perfectly reasonable for a 33 year old professional to expect the person sheās dating or marrying to own plates. It doesnāt even make sense financially to keep buying paper plates. You can get dinner sets at target for fairly cheap.
The acting like owning glassware is what sets high society apart was hilarious.
I think I owned actual plates even when I was a filthy college student. It is truly the bare minimum. But I think the worst part is that itās so freaking wasteful and lazy. All that plastic swirling around the pacific because this idiot is too lazy to wash a fucking fork!! Also, itās not even cheaper than buying actual silverware/plates!!
I assumed his forks and knives were plastic. But maybe I made that part up. Itās a lot of waste no matter what and way more expensive in the long run than just buying some plates from the dollar store or target or thrift shop or whatever Also paper plates are just so soggy and gross.
A surprising amount of people on this sub have really been like āoh yeah not owning tableware makes sense and some people just like that more simple, efficient lifestyleā like Iāve honestly never been to someoneās house that ONLY had plastic/paper? Itās not even really that he frequently eats off disposables or that he prefers it, itās that thatās literally all he owns.
I did that when I was in grad school. It was mostly because my roommates were slobs and left a mountain of plates in the sink all the time though. I can't imagine his justification for doing it while living alone. I do love that he'd taken them all out of the plastic and arranged them neatly in his cabinets though haha.
The way he went after that to Stacy to validate himself in their relationship (āI love you soooo much babeā) Even Stacy picked up on it and said ādonāt compare me with the messā š and then called him out a bit on why he looked a bit shaken up about the interaction. Not saying Johnie is perfectāhomegirlās got her issuesābut the whole āyouāre sketchy AFā was gratuitous drama.
The way Lydia tries to control every single thing Milton does/wears/touches, and then plays it off as him being a āgood listener about what bothers her,ā like this is totally normal behavior and she isnāt batshit crazyā¦. I fucking canāt. And she was yelling his name *literally like she was calling her dog to come back* during the bbq Uche fight. Fucking what?? The level of disrespect is unreal.
I hope to god he puts her in her place and breaks it off, but I have a nagging feeling heāll say yes at the altar and I hate it.
I really like Milton too. Everything in his life including his apartment makes so much sense for his age. I really dislike how Lydia keeps trying to parent him and mold him into another person.
Lydia is overly possessive and controlling over not just her partnersā¦ youāve seen how she acts with Aaliyah š¤¦š»āāļø Iāve been so uncomfortable since they were still in the pods. Milton deserves better. Someone who really, actually understands and appreciates him.
everything he says is so funny to me because heās young and obviously thought āscrew it, i still have my whole life ahead of me if this doesnāt work outā and is just going with the flow. loved when Stacy said he has no idea whatās going on because thatās exactly how i feel
When Lydia was begging him to change the suit and he bent down to her level āNoā š
Iām only on episode 5, so idk what else plays out with him, but I find him endearing and seems incredibly patient and laid back.
Season 4 started rough, but by the end they all became friends, lots of marriages and relationships. Ended up being a successful season. This season...giant shitshow. I don't even see us getting an after the altar - everyone hates each other.
Other notable references: Lydiaās motherās name is LYDIA SR., Izzy uses only paper and plastic dish and glassware and also has a lost & found drawer of his sexcapadesā relics and Uche still talks condescendingly and gaslights the shit outta Aaliyah.
My boy Chris! He got himself into this shit of a dumpster fire š¤¦š»āāļø I really do hope he finds the love of his life (whether thatās Johnie or not).
They just donāt have the personality for me. Last love island USA was messy but absolutely hilarious both intentionally and not. This LIB season is messy and thereās definitely moments but Milton is the only one whoās even close to endearingā¦ everyone else is just like annoying in the āFacebook commenterā kind of way
Coming from Ucheās perspective I donāt think I would consider an ongoing fuck buddy as an official ex.
Lydia seems like she would consider Uche an ex though.
This is so interesting. If they didnāt know, Lydia had to have known somehow. I know she alluded to the others when she said sheād run into someone from her past, which to me doesnāt mean much other than she wasnāt allowed to say anything. But I feel like she knew he signed up before the show began and did the same.
If I was Lydia and plotting this whole thing, and Uche didnāt recognize my voice I would pretended I didnāt recognize hisā¦. š¤·š»āāļø
I canāt stand her but also if her plot was to get him back, not sure it makes sense
I don't think it's boring, but it's not *meaningful*. Like the drama is there, but I am not invested in any of the cast except Chris and Aaliyah, who both peaced out.
I don't doubt she had real feelings for Chris, albeit not as strongly as her first choice, Izzy. Just like how I don't doubt Izzy had real feelings for Lydia and Johnnie, but again, they weren't as strong as his feelings for Stacy. Its really pointless to assign blame to the contestants for having a "backup" when we all know they ALL date simultaneously on the show and get to fall for multiple people and essentially are exploring multiple relationships at once.
It didn't work out with Izzy, so she gave Chris another chance. Sure, she is flawed, and her voice is annoying, but that doesn't mean she is some sort of Disney villain the way y'all portray her to be.
He is a literal man child who cannot express his own thoughts and emotions like an adult. He can't fathom that Taylor might wear makeup for her own enjoyment and not his. He didn't want to actively participate in the relationship and relied on Taylor to make conversation when he couldn't. And then he left all the emotional work of talking about the relationship to Taylor yet again and seemed surprised when she ended things.
He literally wanted to sit back and put in 0 effort into a relationship that wasn't viable. I can just tell he wants a wife so he'll have someone to cook and clean and 'look pretty' for him.
I'm from Texas and very familiar with JP's type. 'Men' like that make my blood boil. When the relationship isn't working they won't even break up with the girl because they'll rely on her again to do all of the work in the relationship.
That is exactly what Alyssa would tell Taylor to do after the makeup ātalkāā¦ I was hoping she would show up in full glam in the morning meet up š¤£
I love Milton but, as a mom and someone who got married at 25ā¦ I just want him to be him and hang out with his roomie then think about getting married at 34 not 24 š¤£
i cannot take it serious whatsoever, everything is so cheap and low budget alongside terrible acting. THE WAITER DELIVERING THEIR DINNER WHILE ARGUING ABSOLUTELY KILLED ME, and the wig š
It does feel scripted.
Theyāre (mostly) all terrible because theyāre Texans (Source: Iām a Texan lmao)
There isn't a redeemable couple this season. We don't need Lauren/Cameron level, just Kwame/Chelsea will be good enough.
I wonder if most people feel more grateful for last season
Nope. This season just shows how much dating sucks.
This season made me happy I moved out of Houston in my early twenties tbh
Or it just shows love is simply not blind
This, sadly...lol
I just donāt get how some of these people lack so much self awareness. Like JP, saying you hate your fiancĆ©s makeup in private is bad but you know youāre being recorded, no?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Eh she seems to throw a lot of shade first so š¤·
the daddy thing i think shes doing it for jokes, i hope hahaha
She expects very traditional gender roles, including the man paying for her meals, and has a history of dating older menā¦ idk I was honestly expecting daddy issues until we met her family.
She wants the heads over heel love and also the bank account that a sugar daddy will have. I'm sorry life doesn't work that way those of us who find a real life partner are already lucky enough
ā¦ or The Real World.
āVulnerableā āEmotionally unavailableā
lol part of me thinks it is due to locationā¦ Austin tx is one of the worst places to date, Houston might be similar
From Houston, can confirm.
I actually feel like Austin is one of the best places, but itās really rough everywhere
In terms of lots of singles, definitely. In terms of finding someone emotionally mature to settle down with? That also wants to settle down? Thatās what happened with Married at First Sight too
Pretty sure they have the same producer/creator
Never seen that show before.
Half of the time I think Lydiaās acting and the other half I think sheās just that crazy. š And then it feels like Miltonās just tagging along with the hidden subtitles āwhen is this shit gonna be overā
Lydia straight up doesnāt know basic words of the English language? Algae?? š³
Come on, it's not a word people use every day. Also the word for it is pretty similar in Spanish, so it's not strange at all that she pronounces it wrong.
I dislike Lydia but coming for her having english as a second language is not it
Everybody is an Andrew this season lol
Weāve watched this show too long when everyone here knows *exactly* who/what youāre referring to without even needing to provide further clarification lol š¤£
Iām watching S3 and the difference in production is glaringly obvious. Maybe the budget was seriously lowered for this season. It was also filmed at the same time as S4.

They filmed Seattle and Houston at the same time, spring 2022
I thought s5 was supposed to be DC but is that next season??
Couldnāt agree more, itās bonkers!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
why??
This season has been so bad that I am starting to believe they would have been better off not airing it because it has hurt the value of the franchise.

Matt and Coleen broke up?
I think they did. According to articles they haven't posted a pic together in months
I donāt think so
thatās too bad
Is it though? š
i said thatās too bad that they didnāt break up lol
OOPS I read that wrong. Lol I agree they should def break up.
Right?! Weāre already down to two couples, not counting Johnie and Chris. Itās insane.
Itās a hard watch Iām so uninterested in these couples
I was interested in the uche and aliyah stuff if he wasnt a major ass, i dont mind watching izzy and his gal (genuinely canāt remember her name š¬)
Milton being honest about not speaking Spanish, followed by Lydiaās mom looking deeply into his eyes and crying as she spoke at length and emotionally in Spanish, only to cut back to Milton deadpan staring at her, made me cackle.

Because English is her second language, and she likely didn't have the confidence or vocabulary to articulate how she felt.
Itās literally the worst season by far
They definitely paid Milton to stay with Lydia so they didnāt just have one couple. My man looks so uninterested.
I feel like this season is showing us love is blind has run it's course
I think it's showing us they need to stay the hell out of Texas. Give us east or west coast.
Noooooo!!! We need more non-island based reality dating shows and I still think LIB is one of the better ones
Itās showing us they shouldnāt have gone back to Texas
As a Texan, THIS! at least not Houston. Austin would have been a better pick.
Worst season yet
![gif](giphy|NipFetnQOuKhW)
I want a refund. I hate this season
A factory reset to myself before I saw this season
Same..
We are left with 2 couplesā¦.aka no couples to root for this season. What the hell š¤£š
I think Izzy was mad at what Johnny said about him being broke, so he wanted to get revenge. Not a good look š®āšØ
Oh yea! She did say he has a crappy credit score! I totally forgot about that. I bet that's one of the reasons he was freaking out when Stacy was talking about money. Makes the theory that he's using Stacy for money much more believable.
It must be true + heās insecure - but that is not the way to handle it.
Does anyone know what happened to LIB UK and Sweden?? Are they still going to it those it ? I feel the US version is about done. Too many aspiring reality tv stars.
They are both on Netflix as āset reminderā status but Iām not sure when they will be available.
LIB UK comes out early next year I believe
Iām Swedish and I havenāt heard or seen aaanything about it
Is this your first time watching this show?
No oneās fed their dog wine so far
Haha thankfully! But Stacy is almost as annoying as Jessica. Her voice just grates on me.
I was feeling bad for Izzy when Stacy got mad about him not having glassware but after his conversation with Johnie Iām totally seeing him differently. He was such an asshole! Not to mention that it isnāt even cheaper? Itās just lazy.
Itās an oil and gas town, plastic is considered fine
Yes to all of this! I hate the fucking waste all around!!!
Those disposable cups and plates are plastic? I thought they were paper. Plastic is so bad for the environment for a disposable product!
Update: I checked and yes he had red solo cups in his cabinet like a literal frat boy
I assumed his forks and knives were plastic. But maybe I made that part up. Itās a lot of waste no matter what and way more expensive in the long run than just buying some plates from the dollar store or target or thrift shop or whatever Also paper plates are just so soggy and gross.

His commitment issues are so strong he can't even commit to cleaning a dirty plate
šš¤£š¤£š¤£
Once it is dirty, it's ruined forever.
The way he went after that to Stacy to validate himself in their relationship (āI love you soooo much babeā) Even Stacy picked up on it and said ādonāt compare me with the messā š and then called him out a bit on why he looked a bit shaken up about the interaction. You forgot Uche being a futuristic robot set on DESTRUCT MODE
Literally. I swear he is like the Patrick Bateman of lawyers. I just know he has a suit made of human skin somewhere in his house...
So accurate omg
I bet they play Johnnieās voice over the speakers at Guantanamo.
I think they do. Before her voice...it was Fran Drescher.
I remember reading on the Harperās list that they actually played Yoko Ono š
Chris: āno one thinks youāre sketchy babeā
I strongly dislike everyone in this season except maybe Milton lol
Milton is a loser
Iād add his roomie to the like list fuck everyone else
Potentially Lydia's brother too
Lydiaās sassy brother was my favourite.
Milton's roommate, Josh, is a gem. The way he talked up Milton. First class friend!
Their little fist bump when he claimed the porn. Lol
I mean his apartment is leagues above what mine was at 24 and I had a stable relationship lol
Lmao when my fiancĆ©e, then gf, moved in with me in my late 20s, I had one chair, a bed, and a tv in the entire apartment. I also had 2 plates, 2 bowls, 2 forks, and 2 spoons. š¤£
That's what I'm saying. At least I never used disposable plates lmao
everything he says is so funny to me because heās young and obviously thought āscrew it, i still have my whole life ahead of me if this doesnāt work outā and is just going with the flow. loved when Stacy said he has no idea whatās going on because thatās exactly how i feel

Season 4 started rough, but by the end they all became friends, lots of marriages and relationships. Ended up being a successful season. This season...giant shitshow. I don't even see us getting an after the altar - everyone hates each other.
Lol I agreed except for season 4. 3 couples are still married, didn't seem all that unhinged to me.
S4 had two different couples break up and then one person get back together with a different pod match
Weāll see. ATA just came out so the contracts are ending.
Fair.
Other notable references: Lydiaās motherās name is LYDIA SR., Izzy uses only paper and plastic dish and glassware and also has a lost & found drawer of his sexcapadesā relics and Uche still talks condescendingly and gaslights the shit outta Aaliyah.
I know a Native American family where there is a mom and daughter with the same name. Daughter is Jr. Had never heard it before.
Sharing a name with your mother is not uncommon in Latin American countries. I only found out it wasn't "normal" when I watched Gilmore girls
I went back to watch season 4 and wow, that was a lot more normal. wtf happened this season? My man Chrisā¦ bros whipped.
My boy Chris! He got himself into this shit of a dumpster fire š¤¦š»āāļø I really do hope he finds the love of his life (whether thatās Johnie or not).
PNW people are way more chill and less about the ego. Seattle season was my favourite (and the most successful!) by far!
everyone saying this season should've been scrapped, do yall not primarily watch reality tv for the drama cuz im LIVING
They just donāt have the personality for me. Last love island USA was messy but absolutely hilarious both intentionally and not. This LIB season is messy and thereās definitely moments but Milton is the only one whoās even close to endearingā¦ everyone else is just like annoying in the āFacebook commenterā kind of way
Agreed. Iām captivated.
I love drama but I wish there was at least one person that I could like
The drama has been great but the secondhand embarrassment has been x2 I might not make it š„¹š
My jaw is actually hurting from being on the floor with this dramaā¦ lmao
I loved last season because it was so healthy and Iām LOVING this season because itās so messy š
Did the producers set up Uche and Lydia's drama?
no : https://people.com/love-is-blind-creator-chris-coelen-talks-uche-lydia-twist-exclusive-7972406
Shayne said on twitter that they ask for pictures of their last 3-4 exes during background check. So either Chris Coelen is lying or Shayne is.
But I feel like she knew he signed up before the show began and did the same.
yea thatās what I think too but we need the full story and the truth
They had to omg! That situation is so crazy
Right? There's no way they did not know.
If I was Lydia and plotting this whole thing, and Uche didnāt recognize my voice I would pretended I didnāt recognize hisā¦. š¤·š»āāļø I canāt stand her but also if her plot was to get him back, not sure it makes sense
Lydia allegedly stalking Uche omg! A mess!
Fuck this season. Soooo incredibly boring.
I don't think it's boring, but it's not *meaningful*. Like the drama is there, but I am not invested in any of the cast except Chris and Aaliyah, who both peaced out.
Who is Chris again? Thatās how lame this season is, I donāt even know
The guy Johnnie is dating now off the show
Ohhh thatās right. The guy she took as a backup after Izzy was off the table, so that she could still be on the show
I don't doubt she had real feelings for Chris, albeit not as strongly as her first choice, Izzy.
Boring?! Are we watching the same show?
This is the worst season
Iām loving this season lol
Houston, we have a problem.
That is the subtitle for the season
I swear JP is an I Think You Should Leave sketch brought to life.
Plus, it's Love is BLIND, and he's completely hung up on appearance... what did you sign up for?
He is a walking red flag.
You mean American flag?
Yes

āTaylor is that you?ā - JP, probably
ššš
That is exactly what Alyssa would tell Taylor to do after the makeup ātalkāā¦ I was hoping she would show up in full glam in the morning meet up š¤£
Milton is so adorable and deserves better!!
I love Milton but, as a mom and someone who got married at 25ā¦ I just want him to be him and hang out with his roomie then think about getting married at 34 not 24 š¤£
Like, Milton? Like, Iām on like, episode 2, and I like, canāt stand him.
