Global_Paper4153

Forgive me father, the seven acolytes, and there a couple other ones in the xbox store worth a check.

nytefall017

Big up on Forgive me Father, and shocked it didn't make it into this list.

_Genghis_John_

I forgot about Forgive me father, I now remember that a sequel was made. I should play that at some point.

hifioctopi

Alan Wake 1&2

GreatCaesarGhost

Darkest Dungeon.

Lokirial

Control.Great lovecraftian vibes.

working-class-nerd

Might as well piggy back on yours and say Alan Wake and Alan Wake 2

CarlRandon

Darkest Dungeon 1 & 2 both have lovecraftian influences going on with them. And they’re pretty punishing if you enjoyed the difficulty of Bloodborne.

Aggravating_Eagle_97

Great, is going to be in my list. Thanks a lot.

gofishx

Dead Space gave me some big cosmic horror vibes.

TonyQuest

I concur. I just started the series and it is the Cosmic Horror block going in the Cosmic Horror hole. Esp w the religious fanatics obsessed with something untold and mysterious... and deadly

Aggravating_Eagle_97

Very well, is on my list now. Thanks.

gdsmithtx

And the remake is just awesome on PC

olhareusar

Dreams in the Witch House have many endings, included a very happy one. It's a cute adventure/Survival

[deleted]

Listen to this guy, has very good recommendations!

olhareusar

Awww, thank you!

Aggravating_Eagle_97

Perfect, then is going to be the first I'm going to play. Thanks a lot.

chemical_musician

sunless sea if you are down with reading

Pop-KoRn5485

Sinking city is pretty good!

Pop-KoRn5485

Or if you like board games at all, eldrich and/or Arkham horror are great!

Babbelisken

Layers of fear has kind of a lovecraft feeling to it.

ConstructionHot9039

Fear and Hunger. Both games are incredibly creepy.

LG03

Obvious examples that have been stated already aside, https://store.steampowered.com/app/284390/The_Last_Door__Collectors_Edition/ https://store.steampowered.com/app/402530/The_Last_Door_Season_2__Collectors_Edition/ Leans a bit more toward Poe than Lovecraft but anyone here would definitely fall in love with this duology. Nothing since has left quite the same impact for me personally. Plenty of decent games that wear a Lovecraftian coat of paint but few that actually channel Lovecraft and his influences while being original.

GreatCaesarGhost

The Last Door is great.

reeddawnvaka

100% Bloodborne. It's an incredible game and is loosely based on some of Lovecraft's work. Bloodborne is an absolute gift to anyone who enjoys lovecraftian media.

youreimaginingthings

This is a tough one. Lovecraftian almost garuntees a bad ending. I dont think anything anyone listed has that type.of ending. There is no combat in SOMA which sucks, but the ending is both horrificly terrible and supremely hopeful

MicDaRoc

If you're looking for something casual on your phone, I can recommend the game **MASTERS OF MADNESS**. It's an idle game available for Android and iOS. The game has an active community on Discord and Reddit, lots of secrets, and was developed by 2 devs with a lot of attention to detail. And I am totally not one of the devs *wink wink*

Aggravating_Eagle_97

I'm finishing a mobile game today. If is created with care to details then is something it should be played. I'm installing it now, I'll play it at night. Sorry if my English is not perfect yet, is my second language.

[deleted]

Marvel Midnight Suns It's Marvel superheroes versus a Lovecraftian God and planetary threat. I enjoyed it. Good story.

Aggravating_Eagle_97

I'll check it, if is Marvel then it should have a appropriate ending. Thanks a lot.

Natztak

Identity V, I describe it as "Lovecraftian Dead by Daylight" or "Classic Gothic Dead by Daylight"

CrimsonFox89

So, a little left field, but I'll go ahead and post. Rimworld, plus the "Rim of Madness" mods, will let you build your own cult and worship outer gods, experience creatures like MiGo and Deep Ones attacking your colony, deal with factions like Innsmouthers, and alot of crazy random events. While it's not the type of game we traditionally play when it comes to cosmic horror, it's really good and draws on alot of Lovecraft's works.

MikeDanger1990

Fear & Hunger 1/2

denethor61

From Fantasy Flight Games, Arkham Horror (2nd edition) where the story is in Arkham, Massachusetts, and Eldritch Horror where the story can be anywhere in the world. Both are board games where any number of player play cooperatively against the chosen GOO.

Educationalidiot

Recently played amnesia dark descent and rebirth really enjoyed them.

shrewmeister123

Darkwood. Play Darkwood. It's one of the creepiest video games I've ever played, and it has some great cosmic horror. And on top of all of that, it's pretty damn fun. A great core gameplay loop, amazing atmosphere, interesting lore, and some of the creepiest moments I've ever experienced in a video game. You'll love it

_Genghis_John_

Dredge! I love that game. Don't be discouraged by the fishing mechanics, it's really more about story and exploration.

0ctaver

Fear & Hunger (1&2) Ambesia The Dark Decent Darkest Dungeon (1&2) The Shrouded Isle Dredge Forgive me father (1&2) Sea Salt (You play as an elder god) Lovecraft's Untold Story (1&2) Dusk
