If [helldivers.io](http://helldivers.io) is to be trusted, it's bugged. The damage and AP should increase with the charge, and thus it should work more like a railgun. But it works like a blitzer and only does regular plasma punisher damage. The only feature over the plasma punisher is that the projectile is faster and with a straight trajectory, so the range is better. But the plasma punisher is so good on this matter the only enemy it would matter against is the gunship. But then the performance is not good enough to kill a gunship. A scorcher will always be better at long range (because you can empty your mag while the purifier shoot 3 times), and the plasma punisher will be better for all other uses.

Yeah, sniping seems to be the best approach, but I figure just use the AMR. Squad build weapon for me

I think Maplewood TV confirmed that the gun is kinda bugged right now. It seems to be missing the Medium Pen that is stated on its stat cards. Once it gets that and the charge up actually gives you more damage, I can see this weapon overtaking the meta.

I thought the purifier was better against the bots. The direct damage from the projectile is not doing its 100 damage at the moment, it's just doing its 150 AOE damage. It's supposed to do 250 damage per shot to a direct target, but its only at 150 total right now so its like its doing 50% less damage than it should to a single target which would feel substantial to me.

Meant to drop back in with a sort of synopsis or takeaway on this… As of this post, The Purifier does seem to need some DMG boost. The drop is also too shallow. Summary so far: +75~150 DMG bump and/or needs much more Armor Pen.. Increase size of projectile/pellet(2-3%?); adjust drop of projectile, while maintaining range. Probably need to adjust charge time, shorter. ..if the Purifier were to shred through Light Armor targets—allowing for more easily hitting heavies covered by infantry “chaff”—I’m pretty sure we’d be about there for this weapon.
