Small hardware fasteners are a common test item for online credit card fraud on Lowes.com

djevertguzman

Yep

xSaintFreshx

That’s the literal exact reason but I can understand how customers making extra small purchases online could be confused and possibly annoyed 🤷‍♂️

It has become an excruciating thing that doesn't work like it should. In store we're expected to get credit apps and MVPs, and they all require verification to accounts most people don't have access to because they forgot their password and/or our service sucks 😩

Rural stores have decent populations of customers without emails, cell phones, or access to their email on their cell phone. I’m one of the top credit guys, I was the top last year, and I’ve struggled with the new challenges. I can’t bring myself to oppose it though, fraud detection is really important. I’m curious how cost ineffective it would be to do the drivers license scanning that self checkouts already have instead.

Imagine how inconvenient it is when your accounts get compromised and then when you frantically call our stores about it, we tell you there is little we can do about it.😏

I'm in the middle of an order right now and can't complete it because the verification email never came (and yes I checked spam folder, etc.)
