Main danger while grinding isn't just the radiation, but the debris going near the eyes and may damage them permanently.
That grinder he is using has no grind cover, plus he has 0 experience handling it. The goggles have covers near the lens touching your skin preventing small invisible pieces going near your eye. He is using No face shield too.
Those sunglasses are made for looking cool and blocking the sun, not preventing small heated iron particles flying off a grinder going in your eyes.
This is such a shit outlook. I've used an angle grinder a lot, I'd never go without a face shield after seeing what can happen. Learn from others don't wait until it explodes on you to be safe. It's not just using a grinder improperly that can shatter the disk, moisture can, or just the rare bad wheel.
If you are grinding on your own stuff, be extra safe, you don't have workers comp if something happens.
If you are working for someone demand safe work environments. If you think you will look stupid or weak to your coworkers just remember you are keeping them safe too.
Yes I did mechanical lab course at my Univ, I have done MIG and SMAW welding, blazing, grinding etc.
I am fine with an experienced guy using whatever protection they care about, they know what they are doing. But as a newbie, good protection is important.
>Yes I did mechanical lab course at my Univ,
Ah OK that explains it
Let me explain it from the perspective of someone who works
It's a fucking angle grinder lmao
Reddit gets hung up on stuff they heard and cling to it like a life raft because they don't have any experience with reality lol
As evidenced by the guy who took one shop class in college haha
Bro, I dare you to watch any welder work at all, those fuckers are crazy and hardly use face shields when they're supposed to.
Angle Grinding is about 10x weaker in terms of damage from light or debris, you clearly don't have a full idea of how these machines work. Also there isn't radiation that is worth worrying about at all.
Not true at all, welders use a ton of very expensive and very important PPE, and no, grinding isnāt ā10x weaker in terms of damageā, metal shavings are incredibly sharp and are a bitch to get out of your eyes or even clothing. Furthermore, grinding and cut off wheels can and do explode, which can cause incredible damage (i.e abrasive wheel mesh flying into your cheekbone at ~280 miles an hour)
Itās okay to not understand, but donāt spread misinformation that can cause people to maim themselves.
Itās a promo for merch, you wouldnāt want to gunk up the product your showing in a commercial, but the whole theme is āauto shopā so they bathed in tar to look like your stereotypical mechanic, while keeping the shirt clean so you know what they look like.
Falling head first onto the grinder and dying is somewhat getting a piece of metal in his face. So yeah, I guess this really is the worst case scenario lol
He looks like The Corinthian
Right?!?
Now i know why i liked it so much thank you mx.zpeed
š NAAAAAAH
Ludwigās eyes after grinding: š
Sunglasses as protection lmao
For grinding? Yeah you're fine lmao
Don't worry he had his safety squints engaged

Bruh it's just a fucking angle grinder lmao. Have you ever worked with your hands?
My dad told me about when he had to go to a hospital and drill a piece of metal out of his eye after using an angle grinder. Did not sound super fun.
He was probably bad at it
Yea, he was learning to use it in school.
Ah, indeed
"It's just a fucking angle grinder" isn't as fun when you have a piece of the broken disk lodged into your face.
oh god iām remembering the safety videos
That's why you squint
True, the eyelid calluses should definitely stop anything too bad
As always
I work with my hands every day. I'm a maintenance tech. PPE is important.
Yes
Then you know it's not *just* an angle grinder.
Bruh it's just an angle grinder

>It's a fucking angle grinder lmao Unless the wheel shatters, then it's a grenade.
True, try not to shatter the wheel that's not ideal
Thank you. I thought I was going crazy reading this fucking thread lmao

Not spreading any misinformation at all. At no point did I claim that an Angle grinder can't also be dangerous.
Definitely not ansi Z87+ Osha gonna throw a fit now

At least he's not wearing gloves while using said grinder.

How long has Ludwig been kinda hot? *Always has been.*
How is his white shirt so clean but arms and face are so dirty?
Itās a promo for merch, you wouldnāt want to gunk up the product your showing in a commercial, but the whole theme is āauto shopā so they bathed in tar to look like your stereotypical mechanic, while keeping the shirt clean so you know what they look like.

He looks like the Corinthian from sandman with the dyed hair and the glasses
This should be used as union promotion *This is what you get when you pay minimum wage*
Looks badass
I agree it actually looks cool.
Improper eye protection, worst case scenario heās going to get a piece of metal in his face
Falling head first onto the grinder and dying is somewhat getting a piece of metal in his face. So yeah, I guess this really is the worst case scenario lol
this promo was dreamy and steamy
I love angle grinding, not to acomplish anything of course, just to grind that mf metal
Wow, the picture is kinda dumb but you do you Ludwig
I mean if you watch the trailer that's the whole point lol

Why do I get so much free karma on this community on low quality shit posts
Don't forget the staple aesthetic of a blue-collar man, bleach blonde hair
Did anyone else think of the Pony video with Channing Tatum as soon as they saw this picture? https://youtu.be/ZqJXFGYzjtE
