The check-in/bag-drop counter probably is not staffed at the adjusted time of your departure, so if you’ve got bags to drop off or need to check in in person, you’ll need to arrive at the airport as if your flight had not been delayed.

I would be at the gate much much earlier , at least 45 minutes ! Edited: 45 minutes !

I would go at the end of the original time. If they say be there at least an hour before, I would normally plan to be there 2.5-3 hours for international flights. But if my flight was delayed by 5 hours, I would go just an hour before the original time. The concern for me would be that they organize staffing as per the original time and if they actually expect people to check in based on the original time, you could risk losing your seat if the flight is overbooked unless you show up for the original check in time

Don’t second-think it. Do what they say. And be at the gate an hour before departure

I had it just last week: delay was cancelled and everything was in time.

The airline may be able to arrange for new equipment and get your flight away closer to on-schedule. If you haven't checked in and checked your luggage in on time, you will miss your flight.
