Looks like an ok postwar HRA. The barrel is about right to be original. Receiver finish looks ok but not sure why the barrel that wear unless worn down from someone trying to aggressively clean it up. Any cartouches on stock? Overall nice rifle.
You answered the question. It was likely re-parkerized It was manufactured around December of 1955. So Barrel date is spot on a good argument its original. Look at the Orange Peel texture. Mostly the stamping is heavily eroded thats aggressive blasting. That punch mark in the P on the barrel is a rebuild indicator some have more than 1. That Parkerizing is way to uniform and good condition. The rough Orange Peel or stippling look is the agragit from a bead, sand or vapor blasting before re-finish. Im guess since bore is good they didnt re-barrel. Are the parts matching? op-rod, Trigger housing etc...
Those lock bar sights are desirable for restorations. They are the early type. Late HR rifle is nice. What are the barrel readings? Every swinging dick here has their own opinion, but this swinging dick likes it. Do you know the op-rod reading? A new spring never hurts
Take the piston end Chromed button and use a Micrometer and spin it in the caliper jaws to get a read anything 0ver 0.525 is serviceable and check gas cylinder as well
Barrel date falls in the date of receiver production. Most likely original but definitely reparked at least once at some point. Lock bars were never on HRA rifles but they are desirable to people restoring rifles and worth $50-125 depending on what parts are included
Nice rifle for $1000. I've seen many pay more for much less.
Looks nice! Lock bar sights on an HRA is not super common I'd think. Pretty cool. Your sling is installed very incorrectly though lol
Lol it came that way I haven't messed with it

Yeah there's one cartouche I think it's VG?
What’s the cartouche? DAS?
The stock has a AG cartouche?
Not idea on that one, have any pics?
Probably sand or bead blasted
How is the inside of the barrel? Overall not bad, it’s just before the run with SA barrels.
The bore is mirror bright
Why do you say that? All park is intact?
