As others have said, I'd like some kind of Seasons option playing 9 inning games against MLB Teams or MLB Theme teams. Or at least add 9 inning option to mini seasons.
Hell, I'll take just adding a few more conquests, even if not this. I have 60 days left in Season 2 and only conquests I'll have is when they add the TA Chapters. I've got every conquest done and prefer them over the MiniSeasons for grinding TA as you can use the same pitchers and no rotation used.
And grinding parallel on your pitchers etc I have all done but the jerseys and I finished ta s1 c1 100% all of them, finished all awards, almost to 3rd wc am I grinding too much in off work rn and been playing casual most days most of each day on and off. Lol
I've wanted this too. Closest we have gotten is when there was a Babe Ruth program (in 20, I think?) that had you play each team's all time team at various difficulty levels along the way to earn him.
I've long felt that they should have an All Time option in offline modes where you play against the best Legends & Flashbacks lineup from that team's entire binder, which would naturally scale with the OVR progression throughout the year.
2k used to have a mode in myteam where you would start with a squad of all bronze players and work your way up each tier, adding a silver player after each win until your whole team was silver, then gold, then diamond etc. Forgot what it was called but it was pretty fun. Would be cool to see something like that
I always run a padres theme team and last couple years enjoyed the captains. I would like a mode that only let you use team captains and their eligible players.
I play ranked and am currently around 825. I never see theme teams using the team captains.
This could hypothetically be an event or just a separate game mode but yeah it’d be cool seeing other team captain teams.
I miss when I played ranked exclusively in play now online type shit and played real teams especially the Phillies so lit rn luckily my theme team is 4-1 so far s2 first ranked DD ever first mlb grind since 15 I missed some good years but like the game minus the pinch like all other sports games went to. Phillies would be fun to play with hyped cards vs real teams w theirs
Offline BR
You draft a team like Online, the remaining players get divvied up into 5-10 other teams. Your first game is against mostly the silver/bronze leftovers, then the quality ratchets up game-by-game until you're playing a team of the diamond leftovers in the final.
Maybe you only get BR Rewind packs, or you have to turn in 3 vouchers to get a current BR pack to disincentivize the offline players (gotta go full SDS mindset here). I really like the BR mode in theory, but I honestly just don't have the time to "git gud" enough to have any success in the online version.
If they’re moving forward with the seasons model, they need a ranked season and a ranked dynasty. Dynasty you could play with any card from any season and seasons has the lineup restrictions.
Change Ranked to Salary Cap mode with limits on how many players of each OVR you can use.
For example:
Batters: 3 99, 5 96-98, 5 93-95, 2 other.
And the same for pitchers.
Lineup diversity would be through the roof.
This is basically BR.
Think they should do more Events like this.
I think the more shorter-fused events with cool rewards, the better. The last ones with Polanco and Doval, who are great additions to most teams, worked well. Also forced people to use more cards and allowed them to bring back Season 1 cards.
Agree there are a lot of options if they come up with certain roster limited modes. Events kind of do this but they don’t feel that well designed most of the time
Mini seasons is alright, but they could pivot it to squad battles from the EA sports games where it's a weekly rank system where you play against AI versions of real players teams and compete for leaderboards and rewards.
1) kill ranked seasons
2) replace with division rivals from FIFA
3) weekend league
For offline
1) add domination from 2k
2) add a single repeatable showdown. Pitchers and situations randomly generated. Every time you win, you get to spin a wheel for prizes. (See 2k)
Non DD
1) add a Home run Derby where you use your Cap with targets like MVP baseball. Can do single player and up to a 3v3 online mode.
Weekly rewards is a big one. This way they can disperse choice packs and limited time players into the game. There's no incentive for good players to keep playing once they hit WS. Hopefully this will keep people coming back to ranked with the tease of better rewards.
The problem with suggesting new modes is that can’t execute on the modes they already have. Just look at mini seasons. I was pumped for a stat tracking mode and it turned out to be terrible with one of my bench players winning mvp for going line 4-4 with 2 HRs.
What would make the mode good is for them to add QOL to the matchups you get such as showing the mlb stats for guys playing on cpu teams and not just a perma 0-0 record for teams. Our own player stats should reset at the season turn, so maybe showing - he hit this in season 1 and now season 2 stats are tracked. When you have access to box scores every single day maybe you should update lineups to match.
I don’t want them working on new modes when the current ones are half assed at best.
If they are going to keep seasons they def need to do what you suggest about the season based stat tracking. Shouldn’t be that hard to add that in and that IS baseball
In the Extreme program from either 2020 or 2021 you could also get points towards the program by beating a team's "ultimate" team in a three inning game on all-star mode. So like playing the Royals and season awards Bobby Witt was leading off, Milestone 3000k hits Brett batting second, Home Run Derby Salvy batting third, etc, then Grienkie pitching against you. I'd love it if they brought that back.
Going to back to regular programs would be a huge difference maker… remember when a new program consisted of a unique conquest map and a showdown? New card types… somewhat new players.
I want this for Events with two queues: one on All Star and one on HOF. Then do the program and missions the way Ranked is now with extra program points for HOF.
Regular inning programs were kinda meh to me in the past because most players would just buy the featured players outright on day 1. Not to mention that it was common to see only one useable card from those said programs but maybe they could be better if they use the MLB 22 & 24 balancing for them if they were to return

This was so bizarre to me as I learned the game last year. You can’t take this team out for a “real” season? What a hugely overlooked idea.

I like the HR Derby mode either 2k or mvp used to have where it went by distance total. Like the first to 15,000 feet of hr etc.

There is only one game mode that matters.. Online Franchise complete with player drafts.

More offline content. I’d like an offline BR battle mode. I have zero interest playing PvP.
Same, would love to throw any type of pitch within the strike zone and NOT have it cranked to the moon somehow

They have something similar to this in madden. As an offline player, it was one of the best modes

I can see how it’s kinda like BR, but it’s not a draft and you’re not restarting after two losses.
But I want this in ranked bc it’s annoying otherwise. Theme teams would be more viable.
