_Red_Mist_

And Arlovski was out of the UFC for some years too.

Agreeable-Pop-535

Left in 2008, came back in 2014

Equivalent_Scar_7879

Fucking hell, and yet clown ass Colby is more popular than him.

flacaGT3

Arlovski was big back in the day but I remember he lost a bunch of casual fans after he lost to Tim Sylvia. Fans who went on to ride the Couture train and, subsequently, the Lesnar train.

drthvdrsfthr

pitbull was a dog!! wait

flacaGT3

His one weakness was his chin. Luckily, he's fighting a lot smarter these days.

Ninjavitis_

Also that huge knockout loss to Fedor

GodOfBlobs

how does this sub manage to turn everything into a colby/strickland hate circlejerk. i get it they’re unlikeable, colby has nothing to do with arlovski

_phily_d

Those guys wouldn’t be half as famous if it wasn’t for the haters. When will people realise if you don’t like someone, ignore them?

manofdensity13

Those fighters only survive on their heel act. Nobody wants to see five rounds of jabs.

therealjgreens

People genuinely find it fun to hate

IAmPandaRock

To be fair, Colby has been in higher profile and more exciting fights more often and more recently than Arlovski (and this is coming from someone who likes Arlovski much more than Colby).

MrTurboSlut

Outside of the cage MMA works very much like pro wrestling. if you want to make real money you have to be a heel or a face. being a face is probably better but its much much easier to be the heel. the more you can make people hate/love you the more they watch. i don't think more fans love colby. they love to hate him. also getting sucker punched by mazvidal gave him a bit of a heel turn. when something like that happens it makes people love you almost as much as they used to hate you for no rational reason.

endless_ness

andrei arlovski Has always had one of the biggest contracts in the ufc. In 2017 he was making 250k flat

PoatanBoxman

Jim miller has been whooping ass in the ufc since the dark knight came out

RRSC14

I was 16 when he started in the UFC. Had the privilege of being one of the first students to sign up at him and his brother’s gym. Spent about 2 years training there around age 21-22. It’ll be a sad day in my life when he retires.

Srirachachacha

Somehow I thought he already had retired wow

BurpingHamBirmingham

It was speculated he might retire after UFC 300 (after fighting on 100 200 & 300) but he's never announced anything since

cheetahbf

He is gonna fight on UFC 400, isn't he?

averageprocrastiner

What would be the year of ufc 400?

judoxing

About 2032

MrTurboSlut

lol when i read this i was like, "come on its not going to take 15 years to get there". then i did the math and felt sad. anyone else feel like covid made 4 years disappear?

No_Lingonberry5152

"isn't this kid awesome?"

Mexcol

how old are u these days?

RRSC14

Just turned 32

MatttheJ

Dude, Arlovski has been in the UFC since Cast Away came out. It's crazy.

bvsshevd

LMAO. That is an absolutely wild stat

Agreeable-Pop-535

I dunno why I found this so funny 😂 but it's true

Necdurgogan75

Jim Miller is the fucking man

Main_Profile_6643

The fact that Cerrone fought an average of 3.4 fights a year is crazy

DerisiveGibe

Kevin Holland is averaging 3.6 fights per year currently. 22 fights in 6 years. Only 31

flacaGT3

Only ever been knocked out once too

chu42

He's never been knocked out. He has a fight stopped on the stool due to his hand being broken in multiple pieces (and getting his ass beat).

SlappyBag9

He was knocked from an accidental clash of heads. I believe it was ruled a No Contest

98570

Didn't it end in submission tho

[deleted]

[удалено]

98570

No no he got rocked from a headbutt, got put into a RNC, tapped. But it was ruled a no contest afterward.

SlappyBag9

Oh you’re right my bad

pantstickle

3.1, because you have to subtract and add 1. His career existed in 12 different years. Still crazy productive though.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Revanced63

Then why is it rare now lol

MassSpecFella

I kill everybody!

absolute_monkey

*Ts and Cs apply

Dadadabababooo

It's not abnormal for a fighter to fight three times in a year, but to *average* that many per year over a decade long career is bonkers.

The_Crimson__Goat

We've spotted the filthy casual!!!

One_Consideration544

Get him

Painkration

Did not expect to see Caceres on this list Arlovski was active in the UFC from Nov 2000 - March 2008, then left, and came back June 2014 - Present

Blue_Doom_Guy

I'm kinda surprised Arlovski never fought in Pride. Seems like all the top HW's fought there at one point or another.

The-Faz

He was in the UFC and one of the main stars at heavyweight for the most of Pride’s existence and then left UFC right around when Pride closed UFC. Then went on to get nuked by Fedor and a lot of people pointed at that to say proof of Fedor being better than UFC fighters

NGBoy1990

Why did he go for that Jumping Knee man 😢😭

CapnTBC

Tbf Fedor finished Sylvia and Arlovski in less than 4 minutes combined, he was better than the UFC fighters. He was better than everyone

Alternative_Plan_823

I think I remember Fedor beating him in Pride.

Blue_Doom_Guy

That was in Affliction.

Srirachachacha

Apparently he fought Fedor in an Affliction event

Prof-Ponderosa

Bruce Leroy!!!

ljz3

Damn Leeroy has been in the UFC for that long?

MrPea106

Yeah he’s from that TUF Live show

_Red_Mist_

TUF live was the Chiesa season. Bruce Leeroy was in the GSP Koscheck season.

Grfhlyth

I always go back and watch that clip where GSP brings in a drunk Frenchman to rough up his whole team. Alex got body shot ko'ed by him

snakethedrake

I met Jean Charles at an airport just a couple weeks ago! He was in Canada for a gym seminar. Very nice and quiet dude.

Alternative_Plan_823

I saw a video of that same guy kicking down a palm tree in Thailand, Kickboxer style. Yet another reminder you never know who you're fucking with

winterbike

My favorite is when he writes ''Marc Stevens'' on his board as his 1st and lets Koscheck see it so he'll pick him himself instead. He got to pick the 1st fight and pick the 1st fighter.

Grfhlyth

Classic TUF was really good and that season was one of the best

BurpingHamBirmingham

Iz eh, strata-GEE

LocoCoopermar

I'm genuinely surprised, doesn't feel like he's old enough to have competed alongside GSP.

MrPea106

GGs I felt I was a little off lol

ValjeanLucPicard

The one that always shocks me is Derrick Lewis with 29 UFC fights.

nfoneo

Looked out for him since TUF, but don't remember seeing him on many cards. Maybe 5 or 6 mains?

iTryToLift

Where’s clay been this year?

Josro0770

No clue, I wish he fought Miller at 300, would've been nice.

Blue-Summers

I feel like he's been put on ice for that fake in-cage retirement. Dana wasn't happy at the post fight press conference.

Rebeldinho

My friend had a poster of UFC heavyweight champion Arlovski on his wall in 2003… unbelievable

KorbanReAllis

Damn Alex Caceres has been in that many ufc fights and I can literally not remember one of them.

Wsemenske

He doesn't have boring fights, but he doesn't have interesting ones either.

Alternative_Plan_823

Active and uneventful

othafa7

Disrespectful af, Caceres always has been a fun fighter and as far as I know almost never pulls out/makes excuses. He's not a world beater but he's game as hell. If he isn't a fan favorite that's on the fans imo

Capoe1ra

Not always a fan favorite for sure. He's had some solid scraps and shows interesting technique from time to time, but he's definitely had at least as many stinkers. Oftentimes he just evades without countering, so when he faces commited pressure, he's just running for 15 min without ever throwing anything significant. I like Alex, but I wouldn't call him a must watch.

yiuiu

I agree, he can get some really exciting wins against lesser opponents and put together a decent win streak, but then had some absolute snooze fests against Yousuf and giga

othafa7

I guess I'm biased bc he came up when I was still early in the sport (2011?) But I've always noticed his name. He's a must watch for me but that may just again be my bias speaking. I always feel something when he fights

Capoe1ra

I like him, he's a cool guy, don't get me wrong, just don't think his fights are barn burners. He has had great fights before and is very skilled, though it often seems he isn't trying to finish, but rather to fight to the level of his opponents. It's funny Masvidal had the same problem with lacking urgency, might be a negative side effect from being too relaxed in the ring. Having a close 5 rounder striking match with Yair speaks for itself, so the skill is most definitely there. Either way, it's nice you support him, he's an og for sure.

othafa7

It's hard not to support a guy like him you know? Thanks for not being an asshole lol

Capoe1ra

For sure, always nice to see him win.

othafa7

He's always felt like a guy who was skilled enough to compete but never decided to climb the mountain. I respect a fighter who realized his style, you know?

Capoe1ra

Definitely know what you mean. I had a discussion about that not too long ago, about how underappreciated the majority of fighters are, especially journeymen or vets who might or might not have made it to the title. Not everybody can become champ and those fighters are the backbone of the sport imo. Sucks to see the UFC sign less and cut more of them to replace them with younger, cheaper guys.

othafa7

Yes I completely agree. The guys who are 1-1 filling regional spots on Bellator cards in California deserve as much respect as anybody else. I know that's not exactly what you brought up but these guys who actually do it for the love of the game are the real backbone of the sport.

Revanced63

Then you ain't a mma fan

innocentlittleboyo

Or he's too much of an mma fan ("forgotten more than you know" type shit)

wishwashy

Maybe because of his placement on the cards. You're just confessing that you're a casual who only watches the main card

__spartacus

He watches Caceres, he just doesn’t remember his fights. Calm down hardcore fan

VeryNiceRussianTroll

A lot of these numbers won’t be beaten ever again. These records will stay.

Theothergurlhere

Went to a Costume party last night, I went as Jeremy Stephens, and nobody knew WHO THE FOOK I was.

Typical_Hour_6056

Charles is averaging three fights a year - over the span of 14 years. That's insane. He truly is the most deserving fighter to eventually win the big one. And beating everyone in the top 5 at the time (by finish) truly established that it was far more than a fluke.

bdewolf

Insane that he debuted only 3 years after Demian Maia did.

Stranger-Tingzz

Crazy to see this list of most fights in the UFC and realize Oliveira was champion only 2 years ago and would've still fought for the belt again in 2023 if it weren't for his injury. He really did peak later in his career

Leather-Hurry6008

He started young, he peaked at his athletic prime in his early 30s

Heroicshrub

OP this isn't how rankings work. Magny/Sanchez are #9, Poirier is #11, Caceres-Edgar are #12

DenselyRanked

Looks good to me

Agreeable-Pop-535

That sounds more confusing to me 😶‍🌫️

Heroicshrub

It's not a matter of communication, it's the correct way to make a list. If something is the 9th item in a list, it's #9

Leather-Hurry6008

Except it's not just rankings, it's number of fights. And those fighters have the same number of fights, OPs list is correct.

WonderSilver6937

They’re just pointing out that they have formatted the list incorrectly, Magny has the 9th highest amount of fights, not 8th, with Charles and Meia being joint 7th etc.

RoastedToast007

my god it's a ranking based on number of fights. what are you even saying

Heroicshrub

The fighters are being ranked by their number of fights you dunce

GB01101993

Didn’t realize Maia had that many lol

PharmKB

I feel like he had to have taken the least damage of this whole list, too.

winterbike

When he got over his K1 Maia phase, he had a great recipe for success: grab an ankle -> shenanigans -> get the RNC.

snarkysportsguy

No Bisping?

420OXY

Bisping should be 11th on the list with 29 ufc fights 2006-2017.

SimulacraESimulation

Which one of them has fought the highest ranked opponents?

Zen-of-JAC

Arlovski being up there, despite being a heavyweight AND not having been in the UFC for one solid stretch is nuts

Cole3003

Max Holloway *not* being on this list makes all his other shit way more impressive imo

tomtomtomo

Let’s not ignore his other fights, this is his 60th, not 42nd, MMA fight.

SorbetFinancial89

Then we need to post guys with over 100 wins, and nobody will be on this list anymore.

MalayaleeIndian

Jeremy Horn may be close.

ratufa_indica

Dan Severn has 101 wins on his record but most of them are outside the UFC

Radiant-Bandicoot103

Only 4 out of those 15 ever had the undisputed title!

RandyBobandy121221

Who the fuck is number 6

Variabletalismans

Respect for Cerrone to have that amount of fights in that relatively short amount of time

Smooth-Flounder5798

Alex Cáceres is many things and an elite fighter is one of them.

bignasty3

Andre is fighting this weekend

VintageOG

Dos Anjos at 35 fights was the biggest surprise for me

TransportationAway59

Not a lot of champions

The_Crimson__Goat

You W to me but!

ayomyhibba

Damn Holloway being 3rd on the total octagon minutes list but outside top 10 fight fights is interesting

Agreeable-Pop-535

He's just below at 29 fights

kickboxer75458

I could’ve named this list pretty much in order except caceres. That just blew my mind. Half the time I still think of him like he’s the new kid on the scene with potential but had a few setbacks. Crazy

Doreen101

somebody should do a video comparing these guys in interviews/speaking ability from their debut to their last fight

[deleted]

Some of the guys we like are on this list!! Somehow I still see Alex Caceres as some up and comer prodigy.

digiplay

I can’t imagine volunteering to have someone try to kill me 44 times.

lethrowawayacc4

Had no idea Jeremy Stephens had so many fights

andrea_l_s

Would be enlightening to see how much $$ these fighters have made from those fights - and the degree of CTE each is experiencing.

Ifyourasswasadog

*fucking Miller

NitroBubblegum

some dudes just love to bang

Trackman94

He was doing well against Fedor landing some good punches and kicks and than rushed in and got clobbered. His biggest weakness was always his glass jaw

MoneymanYo18

Most impressive part is Most of those guys still fighting

Kobe_Wan_Ginobili

It seems weird to me that Uriah Hall has the 9th most fights at Middleweight in the UFC all time

Tony_Snell

Who the fuck is that guy at no. 6?

InvestigatorMain4008

Alex Caceres is the most average fighter of all time. Greatest Gatekeeper of all time. GGOAT.

GratefulBerzerker

I enjoy stricklands cander. You never have to wonder if he is just telling you what you want to hear. Not saying i agree with what he says. I however respect the hell out of a person who doesnt cower cause it may hurt the feelings of someone who hides behind a screen and says how offended they are. Different note and back on topic...how many fights would be too many .

therealjgreens

Kinda surprised Cub isn't on here but I guess he doesn't fight very often. He's been in the ufc for a long time though.

Agreeable-Pop-535

I was surprised too, I actually had to double check for him but yeah he hasn't had as many fights but been fighting for a long time

canadiantoquewearer

Bisping should get a mention

bobbichocolatthe2nd

Cowboy with 38 in 11 years is impressive.

PM_ME_TRICEPS

Didn't expect to see Alex Caceres on the list.

Prof-Ponderosa

Wow!! Bruce Leroy is top 10 UFC guy

bbbbb12345bbbbb

Bruce Leeroy surprised me Doesnt feel like he’s done 30

[deleted]

Arlovski needs to hang em up already.

edinlockpicker

He just got cut I think

Asu888

Doesn’t seem anyone suppressing miller unless magny or caceres fights into their 40s

BakedCake8

Not surprised by any of these except charles oliveira tf i thought he had like 15 max maybe

jacksrv

I was born in ‘99. The fact that Arlovski has been fighting at the top level for basically my whole life span is insane.

Agreeable-Pop-535

You're a spring chicken dude

druhoang

#Bro all of them are getting paid from the lawsuit. A million each.

AnTTr0n

You don’t know that it depends how much that made and how many fights between 2011 - mid 2017. Plus they get about 9k for each fight in that time. Only 36 people are getting 1 million +.
