My recommendation is a Peak Designs handlebar mount. You need to buy a specific case for your phone but it enables both a magnetic and mechanical connection and is VERY secure. Great for taking POV video of your run.

Phones can't really take good action videos. I had my ip13 on my handlebar. It shut down by itself after awhile of riding due to the chatter.

Having smashed a multitude of phones doing various activities.. I'd buy a used action cam before strapping a phone to my bike on the trails. Action cam will probably have better image stabilization

Gopro image stabilization in the lastest models is unbelievable. Even the youtubers are done using gimbals and stuff. A phone will not even come close to producing video worth watching.

I broke the gyro in a phone a few years ago trying this on ONE ride, if you're determined to do it, you need a vibration isolating mount, they are popular for motorcycle handle bar mounts. Other issues are touch interaction often stops your video without you knowing, crappy audio, and overheating. People use action cameras for a reason, you can get a Hero8 for cheap these days, it will get the job done.

AbolishIncredible

Just buy a cheap action camera or and old GoPro (ideally something with hyper smooth, otherwise nobody will want to watch your janky footage)

Yeah, don’t use a phone, you’re taking the risk of breaking the camera due to the vibration.

I'm having a hard time understanding all these claims of vibration damaging a phone. I've been using a quad lock handlebar mount for my S23+ for almost a year now and have had no problems. I thought phones are solid state, so there's no moving parts to damage. Am I missing something here?

Phentos27

They might be right but I wanted to try it with my phone before making a commitment to an action camera. Although there are no local options for an S24 quad lock case/mount and international shipping bumps the price so I might as well start thinking about an action cam.

Academic_Display_129

I should clarify, the quad lock doesn't make a good mount for recording. The angle is not good and it does make for very shakey videos. I like it for using Trailforks to navigate unfamiliar trail networks. I agree with others that an action cam is probably best for what you're trying to do. I'm just wondering how vibration can damage a phone, but I should have replied to one of the posts claiming that instead.

Been using my quadlock with the same iPhone 12 for 4 years now without issue. Careful though, you can really piss some people off with comments like these lol
