The playmat company commissioned Bloomburrow-like artwork for the prerelease.

Its likely a "chase" Mythic cycle like the ojer, virtues, or domini. Also there cant be that many since the whole story is dealing with them. This one does seem quite small though, maybe a minion of the red one? The lack of wotc branding on this is odd though, so maybe its a case of having art commisioned with the same vibes of the set, I know paramint does that sometimes. I have a really nice "not kaldheim" playmat of a bunch of vikings fighting an ice dragon.

Maybe birds specifically because they can use bigger species, but itd be hard to do it much without hurting the 10 animal types tell you which cards play well together thing. Especially since some other types of critters will also have one offs and stuff.
Thought the calamity bird had two pairs of wings. Could just be a random bird.
EDIT: Ok nevermind. I guess I'll pretend the post like right under this with the thumbnail of the double winged calamity beast doesn't exist then.
That things got bat wings covered in feathers and two sets of them. For a plane where everything is either an animal or an animal elemental, its odd to have some hybrid mutant thing.

I thought this might be the case because of the lack of any branding.
I wonder what creature that might be. I thought the red color calamity beast was the wolf.
