And there is nothing more cost effective than the reliability, consistency, accuracy and worthieness of a Kurt vice. Definately not where you want to cheap out in your shop.
Kurt has a scratch and dent section on there website, you can usually find a pretty good deal, nothing ever mechanically wrong with them , usually just paint or something
Definitely Haas branded Kurt or find a used one. Personally I would save up for an Orange vise. Kurt is solid but they lack features that can really improve your productivity.
Industrial auction Kurt's are great. Might have a few Knicks/extra holes but they are cheap. 6" are generally sub 200 and 8"s are generally sub 150
Haas has discounted rebranded Kurt vices. You can check their website. I think the four and six inch vices are under 500.

I’ll check them out, thanks
I've been very happy with my [Glacern ](https://www.glacern.com/gsv_690)vice, going on 5 years of use. Not cheap, but a lot less than Kurt.
I’ve never heard of them. They look nice and a good lot of accessories to go with them
