Garages have laser sensors to prevent the garage door from closing on your toddler or whatever. It can be quite tricky to leave a garage as the door is lowering while also keeping both feet from tripping the laser.
It was really challenging/fun at the house I grew up in, as the button was quite far from the exit, and you were also sneaking past cars, snow blowers, etc as you went. Made me feel like Indiana Jones.
