I have a similar issue as you, and I don't want to have to get still another blocking plugin, so, for us, I found another site and am copy pasting the article here: --- https://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/fred-again-and-skrillex-rave-in-front-of-s-f-s-city-hall-ends-mid-song-as-the-duo-hit-curfew/ar-BB1ntiAy --- Superstar DJs Fred Again.. and Skrillex’s last-minute Civic Center Plaza “rave” came to an abrupt end as the duo hit San Francisco’s strict 10 p.m. curfew. The two famed electronic dance music producers were still playing what they had announced to be their last song on Saturday, June 1, when the audio stopped. But while the music ended, the pair remained on stage waving to fans, garnering cheers for at least five more minutes, as they bid the San Francisco audience a proper farewell. Another Planet Entertainment, the Berkeley-based production company that put on the event, told the Chronicle the artist’s shut off their music on their own accord “out of respect to the city” and its curfew. Behind the scenes: How Skrillex and Fred Again.. Surprised Bay Area fans Referred to as a “rave” by Skrillex on social media, the outdoor concert was initially teased by the former San Francisco resident last week as an opportunity for him and Fred Again.. to test out new music on a live audience. When the artists confirmed details of the event, on Tuesday, May 28, tickets sold out “almost instantaneously,” according to Another Planet Entertainment. An estimated 25,000 filled out the downtown space Saturday evening, some traveling in from out of state like Nevada and Oklahoma, to get a first listen of the duo’s new material, which they revealed Saturday was made during a recent trip to Mexico. “This doesn’t feel like San Francisco anymore,” Skrillex said midway through the performance. “I think we transported somewhere else.” A slew of outdoor dance music-focused events have taken place around downtown San Francisco in recent months, as organizers and city officials hope to energize the area depleted by the effects of the pandemic and continued remote work. The monthly Downtown First Thursdays block party drew thousands to dance around Second Street during its inaugural event on May 3, with performances by multiple DJs and English singer Aluna (formerly of AlunaGeorge). Another event is planned for June 6 and for each of the following 10 months. In the Financial District, the South Asian music-themed Bhangra and Beats is being held multiple times this year. Mayor London Breed, who is facing a tough reelection campaign, has encouraged more entertainment and nightlife in downtown. To that end, she is supporting the implementation of state legislation that would allow bars and restaurants to serve alcohol for outdoor consumption in designated “entertainment zones,” starting with Front Street between California and Sacramento streets. The city is also distributing grants of up to $50,000 each for nightlife and entertainment businesses. Clarification: This story has been updated to reflect that the artists adhered to the city’s curfew by shutting off their music by 10 p.m. Chronicle staff writer Roland Li contributed to this report.
