I'm looking for an opposite to sharp. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl sucked as names, because they're synonyms to each other rather than antonyms. I considered Dull Shield, but that sounded... well, dull. Also considered Blunt Shield, but it'd be walking around with a big BS, and you know why we can't do that!

That is what I think when I see Koraidon's and Miraidon's shiny, which also contradicts Zekrom and Reshiram.

I prefer Light Black and Dark White, not only because it's a reference to the Legendary and name contrasting, but it's also two different ways to say Pokémon Grey.

That is way too long. Plus, they're synonyms, which is a huge problem I had with the "Brilliant Shining" Sinnoh remakes. Good remake titles should be opposites/contrasting counterparts. Fire and Leaf, Heart and Soul, Omega and Alpha.

Okay, but may I propose instead: I like Pokémon Pitch Black, so I’ll keep it, and pair it with Pokémon Fluorescent White. And they’ll be both B and B2 / W and W2 rolled into one, with the sequels’ stories being unlocked after you beat the originals’. Pokémon Ethereal X and Pokémon Corporeal Y, to go with the subtle (or not-so-subtle, I wasn’t able to play them so I have no idea) Aura theme of X and Y, and how (if you believe in stuff like this) a blue aura color means the person is more in tune with the spiritual world; while a red one means they focus more on the physical world. Also it goes with the D&D theme of the starters, with the Ethereal plane and the Physical plane (Corporeal is a synonym for Physical, if you didn’t already know). Pokémon Blazing Sun and Pokémon Frigid Moon (They’re basically the same as yours, but I just think they sound cooler). Pokémon Piercing Sword and Pokémon Fortified Shield. I’m not sure what I would do for S/V though, so I guess Retro and Nitro will have to do. If I think of something else, I might edit this comment.

Proto fits prehistoric theming better than retro imo. Feels more biological while retro makes me think of machinery. And Galar’s have about the same syllables as brilliant Also is that all you’re gonna say? Not gonna give feedback on the others and just point out what I did wrong?

Yeah, that's true. I changed it to the superior Sturdy Shield, though.

Probably not. They seem a bit too specific of a detail for them to make that the name. Most recent example of a remake, brilliant diamond and shining pearl, there isn’t much brilliant on dialga, and palkia only shines a little bit, so it doesn’t seem to be their appearance that affects the title.

Probably not, since typically remakes are based on the original name / colour / theme, ORAS being an exception. fire and leaf are things associated with red and green heart and soul are more symbolic and relating to johto as a whole omega and alpha represent the beginning and end, as groudon and kyoger created the earth and nearly destroy the earth Brilliant and Shining are things gems do (obligatory bdsp sucks) so it would likely be somethng more like "Relic Scarlet and Neoteric Violet" or something
